It's interesting how her voice changed in live performances from Frank to Back to Black. Some people say she lost her power due to drugs/alc but I don't think that's true, she was just singing with a different style. More powerful during Frank era and more soulful and emotive during Back to Black era performances.
Beyond style she actually did lost (big part of) her voice, due to bulimia your diaphragm gets tired and fucked up literally, and the acid of the stomach that goes through vocal chords gets 'em fucked up too, add alcohol and cigarettes... Maybe she didn't lost her voice fully but she did lost range and ability, even her speaking voice changed... SAD, REALLY SAD.
@@eliezermartinez4038 she was actually diagnosed with emphysema in 2008, which made her lung capacity weakened. Her speaking voice changed in 2010 due to the heavy alcohol consumption, she quit drugs in late 2008 for good.
@@eliezermartinez4038 💯 x a million in accord with your sentiment, in my estimation it happened that way. What a waste of life and talent, seems like a repetitive pattern with these talented individuals, Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison come to mind.
Here it shows her shyness and innocence and how uncomfortable she is with all the adulation....she just loves singing and is pure at heart about her craft and is just a good person who is not aware of how amazing she is.
@@yvettefullerbailey4019 i recently watched an interview with her, later in her career, so she was clearly a little shwifty. But even while being intoxicated she was still very endearing and funny. The interviewer asked her who her jazz influences were and suggested Billie. And she cut him off and goes "no! Fuck her!" Lol and then named dianah washington & thelonious monk.
She used to listen to Sarah Vaughan,Diana Washington and Carole King,as a teenager. In the Documentary Amy,we sees her singing in Jazzclub's, that's where she started. JazzyT.
Her voice changes because she grew up!!! She started of sing jazz and belting out when she did more soul-ful songs. But as she got older she learned to control her voice and had years of practice so when Back to black was created she has better technique. Plus with jazz you have more liberties when performing. You can do more runs in the song and ad-lib but in RnB soul songs like on Back to black she used less runs and more control of her voice.

Was that woman the strongest soul singer since Arethra Franklin and Etta James? That voice was like a deep growl out of the most violent slums of America.
Hermosísima!! Talento Insuperable ♥️ Pero ese Novio destruyó su vida la llevo a las drogas igual como pasó con Whitney Houston 2 megas estrellas una gran pérdida 😥😭😥😥
strong ,happy ,,who said amy didnt want this?maybe after the drugs when she couldnt get out of bed cause she was so highbut before that nighmare ,this is a strong girl, positive !
The drummer showboated. He made her sing over his drumming This is a smooth jazz tune. No reason to blast out over the vocals. Amy no matter what had coolness

I remember the show master (Giovanni di Lorenzo) saying that Amy's performance blew him away.
La más hermosa y talentosa de todas.
The real Amy, right here. Healthy, beautiful, powerful singer.
She is just the queen of jazz
Tony Bennett told that Amy is the third best Jazzvocalist,he did put her beside Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday... JazzyT.
She had a beautiful voice. I hear Billie, Esther, Etta, & Ella. She leaves us her songs, her music lives on. Great talent, as a true vocalist.
I agree, but funny enough she wasnt a fan of Billie 😂
Didn't know that! Wow, interesting.
@@rachaelreis6530 Didn't know about her not being a fan of Billie. Wow.

Why is it so difficult to understand what she's saying,. Singing in her throat makes words harder to enunciate....smh.
