One of the things I like about this channel is I can watch it around/with my kids and not have to worry about foul language or music. Really appreciated!
@@dv8nxs944 No, but I’ve thought of starting one. I mostly train horses, so that would be the majority of it but I’ve been known to chase some wild ones out in the desert
This has probably been suggested already, but to solve the spinning post issue, attach a gate hindge upside down and drill a small hole in the concrete for the hindge pin to slide down into.
"He hasn't hit anything, yet" LOL! The concrete floors seem like they make a big improvement for cleaning out. Looks like your daughter is growing up fast.... they grow faster than weeds. Are you gonna do a segment in an upcoming video for the shell corn harvest? no pressure, but I'm curious how that is gonna go. Thanks for another great video.
Hitting something is inevitable! Good show Eric. I was concerned about the lack of line till I remembered you mix it in with your shavings in the commodity barn. Little Evelyn is precious!
Hopefully having Andrew helping will make your work load a little easier. I think it is time for me to get a hoodie. They look pretty cool.Awesome to see Evelyn. Great video as usual. Thanks.
Just a lot of things to stay on top of with the barn and cattle and land work. None is less nor more important than the other, good to see you guys staying on top of all of it. I wasn't aware of the bean oil importance, good to know that info. You do a real nice job on the videos, recording and explaining what is happening. Thanks for sharing, have a great remainder of the week.
Thanks for sharing another educational video Eric. You & Andrew are already a team. Good to see you wearing protective gear. Your daughter is a precious little sweet pea. How blessed you are.
We had trouble with spinning poles back in the day on my uncle's farm (some 30 years ago). We ended up welding the bottom end of the round poles onto square pipes and mount these to the floor. Problem solved.
To keep the gate post from rotating, try clamping a gate post hinge pin upside down on the post at the floor and drill a hole in the pad for the pin to locate into. That should prevent the post from rotating and not intrude on the floorspace.
Watching the various farmtubers work with bedding and manure. Always wonder how a snowblower would work on the edges. Would be interesting to see. (Probably have too much time on my hands.). :)
I enjoy your videos! It is very nice to see a young man like you with such a great work ethic and convictions! Also your daughter is so cute! I remember when my little girls answer for everything was no. God bless you and all your family!
Hi Eric and Andrew awesome video you’re both a team missing your dad precious baby girl they grow up fast 💨 and as always you and all you’re families be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yep, great when it works how it should with each person anticipating what needs to be done in the task to aid the previous operation and move forward twice as fast!
I'm sure you've already checked but in your battery grease gun, did you take the caps of both ends of the grease tube? I did that one day and took meds an hour or so to figure it out even though I "checked" it like 10 times.
Something to do for that post not rotating is to weld a couple pieces of rebar sticking out on each side and drill some holes in the concrete for them to stick down into
If you weld on 2 metal bits either side of that round post then put two bolts either side of the metal pieces sticking up a bit it’ll still be removable but won’t spin
That pole is removable correct ? It has a round flat flange on the bottom that recesses into the floor a little ways? Then you can take it out and put a cap in there and clean up the pen without hitting the cap, is that correct? If so drill a couple holes through the flange that's at the bottom of the post have a couple bolts with longer Shanks so you can cut the threads off and then weld the head of the bolt on top of the flange drill holes coinciding with those in the concrete get a couple of metal inserts to go in the holes, so the concrete doesn't wash out. Set pole into these and it should stay put. Might want to weld a couple of tabs on each side of the post a little ways above where the bolts go through in case it gets crusty Down Under you can pry back and forth on those to get it out. That would be my solution. Now for the fun part ,....going back and editing the whole thing because it put in what it wanted to say and not what I said! Just love this talk to text autocorrect bull crap!
It's nice to have some to blame now if something goes wrong. Kidding of coarse. It must be nice to have the extra pair of hands around the farm. So far so good Andrew.
Question: How do you know how much milk each cow yells? Does the milking machine know to which cow it is attached and is there a flow meter of some sort? Love your channel.
You might fix the rotating post by grinding two slots in the collar post which you slide the gate post into and then weld tabs to the gate post. I would grind 95% of both slots then finish grinding. The concrete might be a little rough on the metal grinding wheel. Hard to say. Hopefully you put a metal collar pipe in the concrete. Not sure how long a slot will hold up if it is a poly collar pipe in the concrete.
Cut a slot in your base post and weld a pipe to fit and fit into prolblem sloved Maybe lol should work i have one. Good luck Glad you got andy to work with these days
My battery grease gun did same thing. It was the rubber in the cylinder. Try swapping the cylinder that you put the grease in, from manual grease gun to the battery grease gun
Evelyn stole the show! Classic age where every answer is no.
Great moments in time.
One of the things I like about this channel is I can watch it around/with my kids and not have to worry about foul language or music. Really appreciated!
Let me guess, Evelyn is 2 years old!
The family dynamic is changing on the farm and I like it. Cheers all 🇨🇦
As a beef rancher, I have a huge respect for you dairy farmers. Y’all make my life look easy 😂
Do you post videos? I'm trying to find a good beef farm channel to watch but haven't found any that suit me
Sonne farm is real good
Yep, sonne farms is the way to go

Evelyn is so precious. I think you have a winner in Andrew. Good on the skid steer and the manure spreader. Good video.

Andrew seems to be a great guy and good help! Blessings upon your entire family. ❤
Skid steer is definitely worth the money in your operation. You guys get a lot of work done with them
Wow Dad, the little one is growing fast. She's already inspecting the beans. 😉
Thank you for sharing. enjoy the cattle when they get their fresh bedding. Your daughter is adorable blessings to the whole family

awwwww sooo cute!!!! Love to see the kiddos running around! Thanks for the great video, always enjoy watching!
Good job Eric keep up the hard, expressive and good work you work hard if it weren't for you dairy farmers we wouldn't have any food.
No food or just no dairy?
@@hollandtimelapse5040 food also, the cows are slaughtered after the milk production drops. It's not that much, but it sure is food
Awwwww Evelyn is getting big! What a pretty baby girl! Your a lucky daddy!😀😀😀💜
Glad to see you take a scientifical approach to dairy farming it is very interesting teach us more
Nice to see Daddy's little helper at the end there! You have much to teach her. 11th Generation.
I think we need to see more of Evelyn!!! she is adorable!!!
Family farms are the greatest! My husband and I raised our five children on our farm. We are so blessed!
Try squaring up the hole for that removable pole, and welding on some right angled metal strips on the base to fit. That should keep it from turning.
Andrew was a great addition to the videos Erik🤙
Thanks for sharing another educational video Eric. You & Andrew are already a team. Good to see you wearing protective gear. Your daughter is a precious little sweet pea. How blessed you are.

Great vid, as always. You spiked the cuteness meter off the scale there at the end.
Another great video. Thanks for taking the time to share your farm, and family with us! God Bless.
Your daughter is a cool addition to your videos. They grow up in a blink of a eye. Enjoy
She's so cute. Interested to see how the new beans do.

You could replace that pipe hanging pole for a square metal type! That’s what we have in the UK👍
Watching the various farmtubers work with bedding and manure. Always wonder how a snowblower would work on the edges. Would be interesting to see. (Probably have too much time on my hands.). :)
Very nice work! It’s nice seeing how other dairy farmers operate
Eric, Evelyn is adorable. Let's see more of the children. You have a great family.
Absolutely loved seeing your daughter she was the highlight of the video
Evelyn is absolutely adorable! Hopefully you got the 11th generation dairy woman there! 🐄 🐄 🐄

Good video the flat floor is super nice and easy to clean
Good one, glad you have helper...
LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS ERIC HAVE BLESSED DAY
Yes alway's nice to have an extra hand gets things done well done guy's
Weld a square plate with a hole for the pipe to the pipe. This will also keep material for getting in around the pipe.
It is nice that you have someone to help you with the camera work.
Working by yourself is difficult,,, if two people works together, you can accomplish as much as 3! Glad you got some help

Cute daughter at end , my daughter is 16 now and driving , whole new world lol 😂 God Bless and see ya on next one
Much more efficient with 2 guys working
Put a key way on the pipe. Eliminate spinning. Even just a small pipe welded in the side and drill the spot in the concrete
If you weld on 2 metal bits either side of that round post then put two bolts either side of the metal pieces sticking up a bit it’ll still be removable but won’t spin
Great video Eric.
Where do you get the wood shavings from that you bed the pens with
Love the inclusion of your little one😊

What a beautiful 11th GEN ❤😊
Weld ya a U Bolt upside Down on Post and then Drill a Hole Where the Bolt touches the Floor to keep post from Rotating! It’s just a Suggestion?
Too cute! Your l'il beauty and her pup playin' in the soybean. Good clean fun.

Nice dry manure pack, no sloppy messy cow udders.😊
so cute....nice to meet your little girl 😊
what you could do to stop bedding from getting in the walk way is pul a pice of wood along it so not as much gets in
Great vídeo
For the spinning pipe you could drill a hole into the concrete then weld a smaller pipe onto the pipe then slide it into the hole to stop it
Nice to show Evelyn !
