I love watching dirty things becoming clean 😁 wouldn't it be easier if you scraped the thicker mucky stuff out first before spraying it down? I know nothing about farming, but love the video
That stuff gets packed down and some has been there long enough that it is dry. If you have ever let a litter box go without changing it and they litter turns into concrete...it's the same thing..need the high pressure wash to force water into the dried feces to move it out.
Fair play i still have mine to do great idea with putting d disinfectant in threw the power washer. I used to put it in the nap sack and it was a dose to wash out afterwards when going back spraying weeds.
If I was u Gavin I would wet everything down before hand helps break up all the heavy stuff and would have swept it all to the bottom of the shed into a pile and it would have made it a lot easier for power washing
Great to see a young farmer who is so hard working and takes such pride in his farm and farm yard 🚜 👏 you keep the place in pristine condition. Your farm is a credit to you. Keep up the good work Canning farms 👏 😊 your doing an amazing job 🐄🐮
Hi Gavin, just watched this video. Just a thought to make life easier, consider buying a new lance with a Turbo nozzle at the end instead of a fan nozzle. This will give a big increase in cleaning power which will save a lot of time. A new lance slightly longer in length will also save bending so much. If you go for a turbo nozzle, just make sure its size is matched to the performance of your pressure washer. Regards,
@Canningfarms Gavin, if dirt has got into the nozzle you've held it too close to the surface you're cleaning, aim for it to make a circle no less than 100mm diameter, good ones can be stripped & cleaned out. I used to have a 2mtr lance for that sort of work with a bend in the middle to ease back ache. Take care , Jeff
Water is not to be wasted. Even if you think it is free or plenty of it. I think the mud should have been shovelled and then you wash. Muck could be bagged and put on gardens. Its mostly shit and water and sold 4 ten bob a bag. Leave it in a heap to lose most of the water, first.❤ You could take it to town ask the busines owner if he could, sell it. Maybe the petrol station. Do you wash the concrete walls? Just a suggestion. We used to do it as kids. The biggest thing I got in to trouble for was walking in the fesh cow pats. We never wore shoes, good in winter. I love the cows. And the Hoof doctor. 🎉🎉 cheers.🎉🎉
Yea looking into rain harvesting for water use god knows we have enough rain here for it 😅 as for the dung I spread that back on the land to increase the organic matter in the soil
Not a fun job but nice to get done, I have an extendedable lance for washing sheeting and roof, it’s a great tool, washing the sheets brightens up the shed so much
Get a smooth concrete rake (also called a concrete spreader) and a push broom and scrape/sweep all of the mud and manure into little piles and shovel it into your wheelbarrow before it becomes a sloppy mess. Your pressure washing will go faster, you'll get much less splatter on the walls, you'll use much less water, and you'll create a lot less mud outside the barn.
I was once taught at Bishop Burton college of agriculture. There I learnt the real health risks 'threat to life' of what can happen to you whilst using pressure washers & cleaning away any kind of animal excrement. Please, wear protective gear including a full face mask. It is not an if but a when you will ingest or get a bacterial or viral contaminant enter your lungs, eyes, ears, nose or mouth.
Well first time watching this clean up. Lots of dirt from the cattle and a strong power washer to get it all looking nice and disinfecting afterwards. Did you do the other side also? Im thinking you did. EXCELLENT JOB! 👍💯😎
Do you pre-soak all the surfaces to be washed at all? If you use a cheap simple garden sprinkler either a rotary one (fixed on a block of timber} or an oscillating version for 12 - 24 hrs on a low mains pressure it will reduce the time and water needed to power wash a large area like that.
Yea Peter plan is when the new shed goes up I have ibc tanks that will be fed from the down pipes from washing machinary and the sheds use what nature provides abit better
If we could see you rinse out that white solution that you sprayed around at the end, it would've made the whole experience complete. Enjoyed the video nevertheless.
I used to bed it with straw and sawdust when I had cows and when the calved I put them and their calves in that area but it's used now just when I'm running cattle through the crush just a handling set up now see alot of people using peat and wood chip and I heard that oilseedrape straw is very good Lay it out and a small bit of normal straw on top
Looks good but never seen anyone use a pressure washer on a farm. In my parts we use booster pumps. That would have taken 10 minutes and not had to shovel a thing.
Most sheds are cleaned once a year and disinfected but that area where the cattle handling facilities are is done about 3 or 4 times a year to keep it clean
Thank God for that! Im disgusted how some animals are housed, i understand cattle poop, but there means to keep them and their living quarters clean. No animal should have to live in their own muck.
Well done, but the videos lacked satisfaction as the final result was left out. The pace of the video is great and makes it very watchable. The song choice is good and sounds similar to the guy who has a hoof-trimming channel out of the UK (Scotland or Northern Ireland). Hope it helps. Thank you.
Why wouldn’t you just scrape everything straight outside. Seem to be so much harder with that pressure washer he probably could’ve got it down in half the time just by scraping everything out the gate
It would only it had all dried it and stuck to the ground so when it's like that all you can do is wet it and clean as you go shouldn't have let it get that bad in the first place 😅
Ist ja schön das große reinemachen. Aber unsere Rinder im Umkreis stehen auf Stroh und nicht auf blankem Beton. Wir haben fast nur Bio Langwirtschaft 😅
The power of beautiful clean WATER. Water is Life, combined with your hard work brilliant. God Bless You Gavin. 🙏🇮🇪🙏

Yea I do give it a good soak the night before and it makes life alot easier
Hércules did the same job !!!
Gavin, the water demand on farms must be quite significant and expensive. With such large barn roof areas, do you harvest rainwater for farmyard use?
On older farms they often have a well close by the buildings that could be used for washing purposes.
Yea Peter plan is when the new shed goes up I have ibc tanks that will be fed from the down pipes from washing machinary and the sheds use what nature provides abit better
Sounds like the rascal flatts ❤

That was awesome! I love power washing! Next time write “Canning Farms” on one of the walls before completely cleaning the wall.
Good idea
👌
👍
City folks have no clue how hard this is to do. Good job!
No idea at all
Thank you
have you ever tried deep bedding to help stop the mud from bonding so tightly to the floor? Just sorta curious about what sort of things you've tried.
У нас в России сначала всё сгребают в тачки и вывозят 2-3 работника. Потом моют.
Иначе тратится очень много воды ))
Tidy job Gavin.
Cheers Brian
How often do you have to do this? That’s a big job, good work!
Maybe 3 times a year that back bit and the inside slats just once a year as the animals are only in it in winter time
@@Canningfarms wow! That’s a lot of upkeep. Thanks for responding
I would wear a mask.
Happy cows ❤
What is name of this song you used in the background. Nice song, Nice videos! What PSI used?
A skidsteer would help clean the bulk of it off.
I wish I had one make life alot easier 😂
@@Canningfarms sell more milk to buy one. Work smarter not harder
I can only imagine how much less slippery that floor must be now!
Totally different

Do you use any cleaning agent? Great job
No kust water at the end use disinfectant
How often do you have to do this? I’m guessing about once a month? Once a season?
Probably a big clean like this 3 times a year
Would have watched the whole thing if there was no music.
Love these videos! But those cows will be in making a holy mess in no time at all!
Already have 😅
That looked a messy job
It was glad it's finished

How often do you clean the barn like this?
Most sheds are cleaned once a year and disinfected but that area where the cattle handling facilities are is done about 3 or 4 times a year to keep it clean
Need a favour, can you please list out all the songs you've used, thanks
Not sure of their names but artist is called wildflowers
Where are the animals while cleaning
All animals are out at grass during the summer so give me a chance to clean the sheds
Sometimes shits just gotta get done
Thank God for that! Im disgusted how some animals are housed, i understand cattle poop, but there means to keep them and their living quarters clean. No animal should have to live in their own muck.

Хорошо что камера не передаёт запах😅
It really is 😂
That some good soil there u know
Went out to the compost heap and used on veg great stuff
Would have loved this with just the natural sound and no music.
👍
Why wouldn’t you just scrape everything straight outside. Seem to be so much harder with that pressure washer he probably could’ve got it down in half the time just by scraping everything out the gate
That just make a mess outside and cause pollution have concrete out both side so wash it into the tank
Hercules, eat your heart out.
what music is playing in the background???
Just a few free songs wildflowers I think is that artist
How long did it takein real time
Around 4 and a half hours soaked it the night before that took about 15 mins
How long took to have it done?
About 6 hours in total have to do that twice a year to keep on top of it
What psi did you use?
How are you not wearing a respirator?? I couldn’t do it.
Don't worry some how doesn't smell 😅
Music isn’t too Whoopi, repetitive.
Curious to know who the singer and sings are called??
Wildflowers is the name of the band I think
What is the name of first song and artist??
The the band are wildflowers
would have it been easier to scrape first
It would only it had all dried it and stuck to the ground so when it's like that all you can do is wet it and clean as you go shouldn't have let it get that bad in the first place 😅
Ist ja schön das große reinemachen. Aber unsere Rinder im Umkreis stehen auf Stroh und nicht auf blankem Beton. Wir haben fast nur Bio Langwirtschaft 😅
Yea same he this area is just a handling pen where I can treat them and work with the cattle so gets cleaned every so often
Man why wouldn't you just scrape the whole thing first then Wash it?
Stuff stuck to the floor dried in tried to scrap it before but wouldn't come loose until I washed it
I think it was better to clean the surface first and then use water to save water 💧. Water is life.
How nuch pressure bar....
3000 psi think that's 207 bar
🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷👍👏🙋
What song is this?
Wildflowers is the band
Would've been quicker to drag the scraper first then wash it .....
It was like concrete 😅
this is one of the trials of Heracles.
Hahaha felt like it 🤣

No music.
