I love DJing with wireless headphones! It allows me to roam around the party at will, dance around to my own set, and I can still control Virtual DJ wirelessly with VDJ Remote app on an iPad while dancing with the audience. I came up with this concept back in 2017, I used an FM stereo transmitter and a pocket size FM radio, zero latency, worked great indoors, but outdoor there was too much static interference and the range was very limited. Then a few years later, I found a 2.4Ghz wireless stereo transmitter and receiver set for around 40 bucks on Ebay and I'm lovin life! The sound is crystal clear but it's also limited in range outdoors. And since it's digital there is teeny bit of latency, but it's negligible. I use the monitor speakers to adjust the sync anyway, I only rely on the headphones to cue the next track. PLUS (dare I say it) I use THE SYNC BUTTON! 😮 Sometimes I play dance music that weren't recorded in MIDI but I can adjust manually, because I'm OG like that 😎
I love the way us DJs hack solutions to things... gear makers hate it because they want to double-guess us and make just what we want... then we take what they made and do entirely different stuff with it 😀
@@digitaldjtips tinkering and hacking together gear was a big part of DJ culture from the beginning, like Grandmaster Flash's Flash Former, and even as far back as Jimmy Savile being the first to use two record decks, which was unheard of at the time, 1947. 😎
@@digitaldjtips fun fact: I was first to add a second tone arm on my Technics 1200MK around 1987. I hunted for a junk turntable at garage sales, tore out the tone arm and rigged it on a 1200, plugged it to the 3rd TT input on the mixer so I can preview the possible mixing points while that track is playing out. It was a wacky idea but the possibility was exciting, and being First to do something RULES :D
I use the branded soft padding for my QSC PA speakers.
Been using the headphones for almost a year now. It’s so freeing not being tied to the decks. Really hard to go back using a wire regularly.
Yeah that is exactly my sentiment.
What wireless solution are you using? I have issues when it is crowded
We love to hear it! 🙌
@@yotaiji012 I’m using the AIAIAI TMA-2 Wireless+ haven’t had any problems with the signal dropouts with crowds but I mainly use them within 30ft of the receiver at most at any gig. Tend to sit them down when I really have to walk away.
I don’t have the wireless headphones but I have been using for quite a while now Sennheisser r=transmitter and receiver body packs hooked up to my speakers making them wireless as well,, zero latency and I can keep adding receivers to as many speakers as I want and locate them to any part of the room (As long as there is a power outlet relatively near by
Good solution 👍
All the best an Aussie in Mallorca
Regarding question at 42:56, I used a USB Hub with Individual LED lit On/Off Power Switches
Cool idea, thanks for sharing!
Just started watching so maybe you cover it in detail later. I think on a prior video about their headphones you mentioned they might be working on a DJ version. I have been interested in their wireless tech but would prefer a set where the ear cups can rotate. Any insight if that’s coming soon? Thx!
That won't happen I don't think as their headphones always follow the same basic design, even their DJ headphones.
Been using the Bose S1 pro+ for a few months now, FANTASTIC! Coupled with the Numark pro go, no wires no plugs.
No latency?
@@digitaldjtips none using the transmitters that “live” in the speaker. They last about 3 hours each. I sum my deck to mono and swap from left to right when marithoning. :)
Hey Phil! I'm a budget DJ using a Hercules inpulse 300 and djuced software on a more than capable laptop, however I've experienced stuttering while playing live in house parties (they were my friend's so it's not a huge deal) what can I do to prevent this? The laptop is in performance mode and plugged in.
Cheers!
Try increasing the latency/buffer size (not sure what it is called in that software).
those Unit 4 speakers need to be secured to something with something like a bicycle cable lock, you wouldn't anyone taking off with it lol
😀 Yes, we did think that!
@@digitaldjtips 😂
would love for someone to do a comparison between the aiaiai and the yamaha wl500.
We've unfortunately never been able to get Yamaha gear for review.
Companies use EFX as a selling point but they aren't as useful as you think and you won't use most of them (I think the full Serato package has 70 efx). I enjoy a well eq'ed mix more than a flashy mix with a ton of effects. Using sync on a few tracks then doing a quick echo out at the phrase change sounds good and is easy but blending two tracks and eq ing them up so well that the listener has no idea where one track is ending and the next one is beginning is an art and a skill. You only need the eq knobs and the fader for that and can even do it on a fully analog mixer.
Agreed
Electro voice everse 8 or Bose s1 pro ? Anyone any experience with these ? Will be used with denon prime go.
No experience with either but both have great reputations.
Have the s1, will be an awesome setup
To be fair, I just briefly scrubbed through the wireless segment, however, to answer the question, why in world would you want to be tethered to anything unless it's absolutely necessary?! The only real concern, in my eyes, is battery management, but I don't see this as a barrier. Don't get caught with your pants down and have a wired backup, for example as with my headphones that incorporate a 3.5mm port if you're in a pinch. Other than that, the only concern I can identify is potential interference, however with modern devices and the distance you'll be using the bluetooth hardware, I also don't see this as significant of enough an issue to be prohibitive.
Now, keep in mind, I'm highly biased when it comes to wireless hardware. I've been using wireless hardware for many years, long before people were bitching about the removal of the 3.5mm ports on mobile devices. Also, full disclosure, I am just starting to DJ again so I am in acclimation mode with hardware/software latency, so I could be completely wrong here, yet from what I've read, contemporary DJ hardware/software shouldn't produce enough latency to prevent accurate processing and technical work.
Bluetooth is a no-go for DJing, these specialist systems work fine though.
@@digitaldjtips, why do say that though? Aptx LL and LHDC codecs are are up to 40 and 20ms, respectively, IIRC. Can the ear even hear that amount of latency?
Hows the bass??
We are waiting for a review sample
We're using a high excursion 4" woofer, which means it travels a long way in and out, pushing as much air as a much larger woofer. This coupled with the long, folded bass vent - which is tuned at 45Hz - allows us to drive the woofer at much lower frequencies than conventional designs 🔊🔊
@@watchAIAIAI excellent! I’m a DJ/producer based in Vegas and I’d love to promote this speaker to test for the people in Las Vegas so that they can become potential buyers 💪🏽. Can we make that possible?
