- REVIEW OF LEGO STAR WARS: JEDI BOB’S STARFIGHTER
Video produced completely on august first, with all the pros and cons that entails
Certainly not my favorite Star Wars set
stay hyper punk
MUSIC: A lot of people have been asking about the music, it’s the Bionicle Heroes DS OST by Ian Stocker
Awesome use of Joey Valence & Brae

Jedi Bob, Captain Fordo, all we need is Sha'a Gi.
Omfg so true!
This is the definition of a gimmick set. They should've at least done a different color scheme than Obi-Wan's. It would've been so cool if it emphasized playability like the early 2000s sets did
Jedi Starfighters over the past few years:
2022 - Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter - 282 pieces, 2 minifigs, 1 droid - $30
2023 - Yoda's Jedi Starfighter - 253 pieces, 1 minifig, 1 droid - $35
2024 - Jedi Bob's Starfighter - 305 pieces, 2 minifigs, 1 droid - $40
2025 (Leaked) - Ahsoka's Jedi Starfighter - 290 pieces, 2 minifigs, 1 droid - $45
The line goes up…
Not to mention that 2-in-1 ugliest set which is technically $50 per ship
@@HYPERPUNKPEACHES I've been so out of the loop on LEGO for so long I need to ask why its so expensive nowadays. Sure it was pricy then, and I think my favorite set, Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter, was around 60-80 dollars, but it really feels like LEGO's almost priced me out somewhere along the way. I want to like LEGO, I just find my other hobbies far more affordable.
@@neonthunder3261 tbh it’s pry a lot of factors, more detailed figs, larger piece counts (large molds aren’t used as much), higher licensing under Disney, and overall Lego price hikes
@@HYPERPUNKPEACHESInflation
I think a big miss with this set was not including an alternate build as either a homage to old Star Wars sets, or the gimmick the show is supposed to revolve around of making new things out of existing stuff
If Jedi Bob's Starfighter was called "To Jedi A Bob" you would've given it a 10.
You right 😭
I managed to get the 2002 Gunship set for a decent price. Love that set. The playability and charm is so good. It is one of my favorite sets. What made Jedi Bob so special was that he was just a regular Jedi that just happened to be on the Battle of Geonosis. He was an average Joe Jedi that could've been anyone. So, for Lego to be putting him in such a gimmick, overpriced set like the Jedi Starfighter and making a Lego movie where he is a central character, I think it hurts the charm of the character and misses the point as to why the community loves him. I think they could've rereleased him in a better way without trying to lean into the meme of it.
This! Amazingly put, I completely agree his charm was in his nameless, average Joe appeal. To center a set or short around just feels like it misses the point
The only downside of this set is the price. Y'all are complaining about the Ackbar trooper without watching the series. That's like complaining Taun We came in Obi's because you haven't watched Attack of the Clones. You're complaining about the similar build of the ship. Of course they're gonna be similar. It's almost the same thing. I don't see y'all complaining about the 6 Clone Wars Jedi fighters that were all just different colors. I'm just very confused about all the reasons this set is being dissed for when y'all don't apply the same logic to any other sets. Same thing with the Jedi Bob figure. He's not being used to promote anything. This is literally a ship from a new show and it comes with several characters from the show including the main character Jedi Bob.
“He’s not being used to promote anything. This is literally a ship from a new show…”
The trailer came out a month after the set review as well meaning the reviewer could not know the context
I find it very strange they emulate print chipping to signify the figure's age as a callback yet use modern colours, they should have just made it a clean print if they couldn't get the classic colours
Very true, the longer I’ve had it the more the figure just feels weird. New colors but yellow skin? Faded prints but new face? Cool as a gimic, tbh not sure how I’d do it
I hear Bionicle ds music, I like
I genereally agree, i honestly half wished this set was smaller and cheaper so i could justify buying it but nah I might just pass the memberberries on this one.
Also bonus point for acknowledging the new BANGER jpegmafia album.
BIG BOOTY HOES 🗣️🗣️🗣️ nah fr if you’re on the fence price wise I’d sadly say you can skip this set
Yeah LEGO has gotten kind of lazy when it comes to play features for Star Wars sets unless it’s a bigger set. I remember that I had the Zam Wessel Chase set from back in the day and the wings were designed to pop off to simulate it crashing like in the movie. These days, the most “play features” you can expect from a set that’s under $60 is the spring-loaded shooters. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still 10x better than stud shooters and at least 100x better than flick-fire missiles, but back in the day LEGO Star Wars sets didn’t need a projectile launcher to be fun.
Best into ever 😂
Good stuff, it’s a fine set but not anywhere near $40 lmao, subscribed for sure
I disliked this video not because I disagree with you, just because I don’t like your vibes.
Gongrats your humour got you a sub! Love the content brother, but the backgrounds got me feelling high or sum
I love the Bionicle ds ost
You must have been born post 2005 or something. Those of us born in 1999-2005 know Jedi Bob from the much older Lego Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary or even much older books on the history of Lego.
Bionicle Heroes DS OST goat
This is genuinely one of the worst excuses of a set that they have made ever it pisses me off that so many people are just eating it up, don’t get me wrong jedi bob is cool and all, I have the og one but I can guarantee you no kid knows who the hell he is, they’ll just buy the set bc they’re favorite UA-camr told them to
Hyper Punk Peachers rips Jedi Bob Brick Pants a new one with his latest smash hit. Not many can say that they are in THE Hyper Punk Peaches intro like I can.
1st comment.
Bro it’s literally the same type of ship. Of course the “core” of the build will be “nearly identical”. Dude compare any tie fighter set and you can literally say the SAME thing. This is such a trash take bro. Here’s your L. Also a gimmick figure? All figures are gimmicks dude. People buy sets just for the figure ALL the time. This set is only 40 bucks bro. You wanna get mad over a gimmick figure? Then get mad at Lego throwing in a phase 2 Rex on a UCS set for hundreds of dollars.
It's nearly identical but it's 10 bucks more that's the issue
You are the only one getting mad here. Chill out and don't take someone's opinion as a personal attack
Who is this clown?
*laughs in 75391*
"Of course it's nearly identical, it's based on the same ship!"
Yes, that is his point. They had so much creative potential with a non-canon ship based on a show where they keep rebuilding everything, and they just remade one we've gotten every year for the past few years.
I was at Walmart and went to the lego section, one it was all behind plexiglass and two so overpriced. I saw some cool like character mech things all pushing 20 bucks. Those would’ve been like 12 dollars back in the day 👨🏼🦳
I personally like the build and the remake of Jedi Bob.
The set is a bit expensive, but almost every SW set is. And since this is a limited edition figure who will probably never be released again I can understand a higher price.
It is a bit disappointing that the model can't rest on the landing gear though.
Every set kills dogs so it’s ok this one does too
I'm not saying it's good that it is expensive, just that it isn't unique in that regard and a little bit more understandable than some other sets.
@@LegorocketsAnimationThe new X-wing x TIE fighter set is priced more reasonably than this set.
No figure in this is expensive to produce. Theyre all made from existing molds.
bro do you have a playlist for the kinda music in the background
40 dollars and the landing gear doesn't work? The new bob purposely looking faded is really subpar as well
Your voice sounds quite familiar to me. Do you have any other YT channels?
I just got this set yesterday lol
1:48 'Look at all these harsh slopes!'
Shows a set from 2002 when lego first introduced the vast majority of curved slopes seen today. Barely a straight slope in sight.
Shut up 🗣️💥 (I misremembered the set and had already recorded)
It’s a red virsion of Anakin’s Star Fighter from the 2003 Clone Wars rather than Obi Wan’s fighter from Attack of the Clones
Its not 1 to 1 but close enough missing the upper guns on the back wings
Goated Bionicle Air music
I have the encyclopedia as well
this music is so good
wtf amazing channel amazing video
Best Intro i have ever seen
Peak lego review
I don't see why they didn't even bother to include a regular clone trooper helmet in this set.
They hate YOU
u got my sub cuz peggy
Pretty bad take, honestly. Jedi Bob's a gimic character? He's one of the main characters of the show and has been PROLIFIC within the Lego community for literal decades now.
Anyones, I love the direction of your video. Its very personal, while still being well-produced and easy to follow. Excited to see more videos, from you. Also, the outro is fxcking incredible.
While I don’t agree with your take for the reasons I gave in the video, I do really see where you’re coming from. I think I may just be cynical whenever companies lean into fandom stuff. Glad you enjoyed and fw the JPEG 😈
40 dollars more like obi wans starfighter is 25 with the same amount of minifigures
The price and landing gear complaints are 100% valid and I would love to see Lego bring back play features and alt builds. But, I think you're being too critical of everything else.
"The body is constructed near identically" of course it is! It's a Clone Wars era Jedi star fighter, they all come from the same design in the movies. Jedi Bob was originally created to be a generic Jedi character. It makes logical sense that a character intended to be a generic Jedi, would fly a generic Jedi ship.
"I believe [the Akbar Trooper] is bad. This looks like something a child made" I think that's the point? He looks like something a child might do while playing with a Lego set. Mixing parts from different minifigs to create a new character is very common from my own experience and what I've seen from others who grew up with Lego. I loved putting different heads on clone/storm trooper bodies as a kid. My child logic was the armor looks cool so any character wearing it is automatically cooler. He's from a children's Lego special, you're not suppose to take him seriously. It's fine if the special doesn't seem like something you would enjoy, you're not the target audience. But, just because it doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it's bad. I'm sure kids who enjoy the Ackbar Trooper in the special will like having a minifig of him.
Regarding you're last point, again I agree that play features need to come back. But, I feel like you're just using Jedi Bob as an excuse to complain here. The only thing Jedi Bob historically represents is a Jedi. He literally didn't even have an official name until 7 years after he was created! I fully understand this argument if applied to a modern set including Johnny Thunder or Dr. Cyber. But Bob? He's just a background character.
I'm not a Lego apologist, I don't like a lot of the stuff they've been doing lately. I just think it's important to direct criticism at the things that actually warrant critique instead of just "I don't like it therefore it's bad"
Figurerise Kabuto was cheaper
Yeah you have no time to waste on it because it hasn't released yet
You excited little bro?
