Pretty sure I faced Nathan just recently at our little tournament in West Lafayette IN. I got absolutely vaporized. It was my first tournament and I just found this vid and now I don't feel so bad. It was him or his twin.
So how much is a good initial purchase for this game? Like core game and a few add-ons. Nothing hardcore just a good decent start to enjoy the game with some options
I remember a game I played on my table at home a while back, Rebellion won when one of their last two cruisers slammed through the side of a weakened Star Destroyer, leaving a shieldess cruiser the only remaining ship on the board.
Imagine if there’s an ar for this one, you still have to buy them (obviously) but it would be cool to have ar, move them manually guided by the ar but see animations too
I find it problematic that both finalist in 2018 and 2017 are runnin Rieekan builds. Not sure iif this was before or after the FAQ update. I hope before and we will see something different in 2019
I feel like the time limit really screwed Shiu-Yiu out of the victory. He was playing a slow, turtle strategy, had the MC80 completely surrounded with like 4 or 5 ships, and then the game just ends. Shame.
Boo hoo. Then he shouldn't have wasted so much time measuring, leaning on the table, measuring, nudging ships and resetting them, measuring, leaning on the table and measuring.
Offensive Retrofit Card idea: Anti Squadron Turrets: (spend a squadron token or command dial) A ship may perform an anti squadron attack on any squadron within range of its anti squadron dice. The ship may select as many targets for this attack as it’s squadron value, if a dial was used, or one target if a token was used. The targets can be in multiple firing arcs, including any arcs that have already performed an attack this round. This would give you a use for squadron commands in a list with no squadrons.
Lol, unwatchable. This camera is so blurry and horrible. You'd think they could spend another dollar on "World Championships"? I hope that's been fixed (2 years later).

Couldnt a hexagonal grid make this game more mainstream and open it up to a huge audiencs? Nothing kills the imersion like a super star destroyer ruler slaping down in the void of space.
the lack of a hex grid is what turned me off from buying into this game. it looks like a star wars verison of starfleet battle, but if i wanted to use rulers and stuff i would buy avalon hills jutland
The only game that mandated a “Dark vs. Light” gameplay was the LCG, where each player had both a Light and Dark deck to play. None of the other games mandate Rebels vs. Imperials, though their examples will always show that for thematic purposes.
Commentary is awful! Don‘t you have 2 guys at FFG who know at least the cards and maybe have the slightest idea of what‘s going on in a world championship final?
I really wish the meta wasn't so heavily rebel weighted

Wow this game looks fun! Xwing 2.0 has been a hoot. I'm also considering this one.
