tells a fascinating story about a backstage incident at WCW. This happened prior to a 1995 WCW Saturday Night taping...the match was scheduled to be Harlem Heat (Stevie Ray & Booker T) vs Randy Savage & Sting. Now, Ric Flair was the booker at this time. According to Stevie Ray, when Randy Savage heard what the finish was supposed to be in this match - he lost it & tried to beat up Ric Flair! Watch - TitleMatchNetwork.com

I met Randy at Powerhouse Gym in Garden City Michigan a few times in 92’ & 93’. He actually remembered me when he saw me from the first time I said “Hey, don’t I know you”? He replied in his voice “not me, brother”. I said “ok, let me know if ya need a spot”. Spotted him on incline. Talked to him for a bit. He told me they were doing a show at the palace. Hell of a nice guy. From that point on, he talked to me every time we saw each other. Me. Just a big dumb kid at the time...I’ll never forget him.

When I was little, you couldn't tell me that wrestling wasn't real!! Hearing these great behind the scenes type stories, it's like, wow, I bought into every one of those matches and love & cherish those memories till this very day

Cool as shit for them to all come together in the end. Also, as always Sting is the chill dude who is not about screwing anyone over.

this is one of the GOATs speaking right here. this kind of insight you will never get unless you talk to someone like him. they were very looked up by me, being a black kid from the hood. i remember when they won the titles in WCW. i cheered like crazy. this is why i hold Booker T in high regard. Especially during the King Booker days. Him and Stevie Ray were on my TV, making history. it was dope. I loved Ric Flair, Savage and Goldberg. Watched every Goldberg match that created his streak. That's how much i watched Monday Nitro back in the days. guys like these will never be duplicated. That era can't be redone. It was a special time back then. The 90's were special. Everybody try to recreate it but they can't. Guys like Stevie Ray are what they are: legends of their craft.

Sounds like mutual respect and a bit of a union existed between Harlem Heat and Savage. Try to imagine a stable with Randy Savage taking over nWo black and white by beating Hogan, Harlem Heat as his enforcers with the Tag Titles and Curt Hennig with the US title. TELL me that stable wouldn't have had some ability to draw if the angles and story was done well.
