Thx for sharing this game. Please keep showing the rest of the tournament. :-)
I came to the comments to say this. Love following the tournament one game at a time every few days!
Yes, Please continue with the videos. I really enjoy your commentary. It helps me learn chess. Just started learning as a 65 yo senior adult.
I’m just starting too…stuck at 450…🥲😂😖
@@Tom_in_CA Study openings and analyse your games! Also one thing that helped me a lot, try to spot your mistakes during playing but aslo when you analyze your games so you can correct yourself from falling into traps and stuff
Yes, Anna- want to keep watching you play. I learn so much! That game was great! One of the most exciting games I ever saw you play, and I have been watching all your tournaments. Wow. Plus, I play Queens Gambit and Sicilian- so I learn some tactics from you. You are a great chess streamer and teacher.
Love your video's! You brought chess back into my life after a long time. Thank you.
This is your best video. You narrative was cogent. You came across as more mature and I learned quite a bit about Chess strategy. Well done! I have been watching your videos for a few months now and find them entertaining, educational, and they have rekindled my interest in Chess after many years of not playing. You are a great ambassador for Chess!
I looked up London Knight Chess and found a web page saying that they meet at 1pm on Sundays at London Runners 130 Druid Stret SE1. I recognised the location in this video. I went there on Sunday 25th Feb and there was no chess being played! When you next visit London, I would recommend the cafe in the middle of Holland Park. There is a thriving chess community there during summer months
10:05 I'll show you the greatest night in the whole history of knights.
Or greatest knight in the history of nights? Your opponent was in his black suit a dark knight. lol
I spent the first half of the game wondering why you didn’t play b4. Then you explained and I remembered why I’m not good at chess…
But b4 was still playable... 1. b4 Ne6. 2. Qd3 Rxe3. 3 Qxe3 ...
13:32 Rxc8 - and white Queen is "X-ray"-protected.
... Qxc3 Nxf5+ gf Rxc3 1:0
Heck yea we want to see the other rounds! Love ya Anna. You make it so much fun.
This is the best kind of chess content.
I really enjoy your videos! u clearly show ur thinking style in any positions and undoubtly a sense of respect for any opposite player, first attitude for playing chess in my opinion. And defintly Yes, i would appreeciate other videos of tournament! best wishes☺!
Great game, very interesting as always. I love your commented games to be able to follow your thought process. And yes round no. 3 please!
Your explanations are getting really good.
Great video Anna! Enjoying the narrated format. About the question of why it seems like you move faster in rapid vs blitz? I think is because of the ratio of time spent thinking and clock time. For example, if you spend 1 minute thinking before a move in a 10 min rapid game, that only uses 10% of your clock time. Whereas In blitz, that same 1 minute in a 3 min blitz game already takes up 1/3 of your clock time. Frank seems like a really pleasant person to be around and a good sport. Yes, please show the rest of the tournament.
Frank, a truly class act! Good commentary, enjoyed it all.
The music you have been playing on the videos on this tournament are so epic I feel like im watching an epic movie or the queens gambit show
I love how the music makes this so serious. Love it :)
Just play: Ruelle - Game of Survival with Anna as Drama Queen
I wonder what piece of music this is? Very ominous sounding.
I love the editing style. Please keep 'em coming. Also, very slick... We know you made that move on purpose!
Yes, round 3 please! What a fun tournament!
YES! Of course I want to see game three!
I said it on your Spanish channel and I'll say here too, I was really sad you did not win the Best Chess Streamer, it seemed kind of unfair to have Tyler1 as a nominee there, I think they should regulate that and put at least a range of streaming hours/days to be elegible for a category, anyways, love your content, it is great, you and Levy inspired me to play, I have never played chess seriously prior to this year, but so far its been almost 2 months of playing daily and studying some theory too thanks to you, greetings from Colombia.
How close was it? I voted Anna!
Who the f* is Tyler? I mean, Anna really works hard and creates great chess content. And the Oscar goes to... 🤦🏻♀️
What is your rating bro?
Never heard of him, checked out his wiki page and theres only 1 reference to chess there, his 2024 best chess streamer win. Bizarre
Sus
Especially funny since the position was completely winning anyway
i prefer the smaller board with edited arrows while you explain, it's super easy to follow.
also, we get to see more live footage including your occasional goofy smiles and commentary about your goofy smiles!
Anna , you talk exactly the same way as my favorite chef Anastasia of Anastasia's Kitchen. learned a lot from you both. keep up the good work
The rule that your opponent has to point out the illegal move is so stupid when you are playing with time restrictions 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah, it also incentives desperate attempts to "accidentally" cheat - because there is a tiny probability that you will get away with it.
Who else would make the call though?
@@AlkoOhjuksineen Anyone. Spectators, for example.
@@ivan_pozdeev_u Im not sure spectators are allowed to comment mistakes? Next question is what happens with time? I have a vague memory the idea is, ref stoppes the clock, and the innocent one gets one minute extra??
This has to be my favorite video! Enjoyed the laugh! Too much pressure he didn’t realize it! 😅
It is so refreshing to hear a Holistic Approach in describing the game: from the swaying, the smiling, the black suit.
In your next video, try playing some instrumental music in time with the swaying. That can be your Signature Move.
Had a horrible day at work, Watched a clip of Anna, and caught myself with a smile on my face. Thanks Anna :)
Yes Yes Round 3 please 😀 Great video format, so clear, so easy to understand, and most importantly fun 😀 Thank you Anna 🙏
Lol, love the narration alongside the music building up intensity.. !
Plus, wow anna! Illegal!! Illegal!!
That rule has so much potential for some hilarious games, where both players are completely clueless that every single move they're making is illegal.
I assume this happens a ton with kids who are just starting out.
@@Raugturi I love the story GM Finegold told about him looking at a game kids were playing in a club, asking "where are your kings though?" and getting a nonchalant response of "we exchanged them a long time ago".
@@_APV_I teach kids chess and the number of times I've walked by a board where one or both kings are off the board and a bunch of random pieces are still there and the kids are still playing 🤦♀️
I've never seen a game end like that.
Yep, you rarely see pinned knights going away to give check! 😂
This was really fun to watch. Please show the next round too.
Even without the illegal move you have an easy win with Rxc8, defending your queen via x-ray. He can't play Qxc8 due to Nxf5+ winning both bishop and queen.
Yesss! We want to see the other games , for sure!
Surprised that you overlooked that move.
Anna is one of the most positive chess streamers on the internet keep up you good attitude.
Anna must be so proud for editing those arrows in😅
im 1800 and i learn a lot from your videos . your communtary is very instructive so thank you ! thanks alot
I would really have loved to see a legal end 😂. Please share more of this!
I really like this format. Talking about the game after you play it.
Did anyone notice the girl from the previous round in the background?
I enjoy this so much!!!
Anna epitomizes the term “youthful exuberance”.
Yes please. I love these game reviews!😀❤
We wanna see round three!
Thanks for sharing your wisdom, the effort and passion you inject into your videos are truly valued.
I completely missed that the knight was pinned too, but if it weren't, you could've just taken the bishop and mated
YES! Please show us the other games!
"I guess this is how you feel when I'm playing chess." This brought such a smile to my face! Thanks again, Anna, for brightening my day.
Definitely want to see round 3.
The difference between computers and humans.
Drawing the lots for colors, drinking beer during the game, winning with illegal moves a man who looks like Wesley So, this is simply amazing! Real chess! Keep up the good content Anna!!!
7:15 - I don't think there's any power in Heaven nor Earth that can stop you randomly smiling, Anna, and may that ever be true.
Let us see all the rounds in the tournament
i love the way chess actually emulates "life". your opponent has to notice an illegal move. never knew that. i just learnt it's acceptable to cheat in life
More! How about Anna's Chess Diaries?
Discovered check.
Double discovered check. Don't see that every day.
why didnt she take his queen? its not a checkmate with Qg7 appears she did not even see her own double check. could have taken black's bishop
So you can say muahaha
the computer never let's me make an illegal move 😥
😄
That's because you're only allowed to do this in OTB games
So if he had noticed it, would he have been able to “capture” your king and win the game? Or do you just have to put your knight back and continue from there?
I have the same question.
It would be the end of the game right then and there. At best, they could call an arbiter but he/she would have to declare it a win in his favor. Illegal move = instant loss.
Me too. Also when you played Rook C1, Stockfish seemed not to like it. What would've the favoured computer move? (I don't know how to access Stockfish).
Not sure about rapid, but in tournament blitz, doing an illegal move is an instant loss.
@@orlandopockets6372 yeah but you literally don’t have any friends.
13:33 yeah that is bad. That's unforgivable.
that was such a diabolical smile, I love it when you smile
Round 3, please!!
Keep em coming Anna!
I really appreciate you explaining your thinking as you go over your video. It helps me understand chess better.😀💖🎆🌋👑
Anna win by deflecting opponent's rook from his queen = NO
Anna win by deflecting opponent's vision from her illegal move = YES
Tunnel vision alert
Frank nervously sipping that beer after every move. Then gets beat by an illegal move.
I would give that a bottle of champagne
I knew Anna had a crush on this guy when she complimented his suit.
Here i am sit waiting for round 3
I love this video format
It happens more often than you would think in cafe chess
Yes, please show round 3.
If an illegal move is legal if the opponent does not realize it, it should be possible to win the king without checkmate.
Yes, well done: that's how it works, you have to ask or say so, else it doesn't count,....just like in cricket: LBW cannot be given unless it is asked for. The request is, strictly speaking: "How was that?"
In chess, saying: "Check," is necessary, or the moment can pass...
i have never heard of that rule where illega move is let go if no one noticed it,
It really feels like playing an illegal move should get you disqualified no matter what, even late after the fact.
@@AdHocF1Yes. This rule enables cheating.
Perhaps this rule should be termed the Niemann regulation..??
The answer of the illegal move is than an illegal move!
13:20 Before the illegal move. When black play Kg7, engine show white winning by a lot.
I guess next move should be Rc8 capturing the rook. If black take with queen you can do Ke8 check and capture the queen,
and if he trade queens, you still have an extra rook
I think you can trade Queens, take the bishop with your knight, and run the pawn up giving you a Rook & Queen vs Rook endgame, or Rook vs no rook maybe...
No no no, Rxc8 is much stronger, winning a full rook. Black can't recapture Qxc8 due to Nxf5 double check.
You mean Nxf5+, not "Ke8 check", which isn't a thing.
@@JimBalter You are right beginner here I thought K as in Knight. But yes, I said Rc8 should be the next move
Anish giri :- yeah yeah don’t let them guess your next move yeah
Frank :- maybe at my funeral
I must admit that I never heard "b4 before" before.
If you want finish 1st, you must finish first.
Neither of you knew. Wasn't illegal. Congrats.
Wow I’m surprised nobody noticed. Makes you realize how difficult this game can be. I would like to see around three. You have the best personality too ❤
round 3, yes.
Rules of chess : If the opponent does not claim and the arbiter does not intervene, the illegal move shall stand and the game shall continue.
Once the opponent has made his/her next move, an illegal move cannot be corrected unless this is agreed by the players without intervention of the arbiter.
I enjoy watching you play .You're very good!
Se agradece la edición en el tablero para ver mas claro todo lo que comentas de la posición
Great video. Illustrates difference between playing a person rather than a computer.
I thought I was the only one that tried to make moves like that.
Of course we are! I love your tournament day by day reports!
I actually go, "Cm'on Anna, think, you're smart, you can figure this out" when I watch you play!
Saludos desde tu otro canal. Suerte en LA!
What happens if someone spectating points out the illegal move? Or when the arbiter does?
For a moment it looked to me as if the guy behind dressed in blue thought wtf but decided not to say anything....
We want it all!
Just when you think you've seen everything. But it was a fun match to watch. Chess Princess
Please keep showing the tournaments games!
Round 3 please! Great funny game.
Congratulations on your "creative" win against Frank!!! You rock, Anna!!! 🎉🎸🎶🎶💯👏
8:05 actually you could have went b4, after Ne6 , Qd3 and black can't defend the rook and the knight at the same time
