Martin: Can I beat Nelson without moving my queenside bishop? Yes. Yes I can.
Being a 250 martin never moved his queen side bishop and beat a 2300
Well Well Well
How the turntables.......

Challenge: choose randomly one of previous challenges. Every time you capture a piece, you have to randomly choose different challenge to go until the next capture.
but it can't be the "No capturing anything" challenge, so he should exclude that
And the checkmate challenges
That sounds like fun lol
@@thijsdesjardijn1308 why no reply?
@@bloonsaretrash ok
Unless I misunderstood the rules, you could’ve taken the knight sooner. Even though it would’ve been a check, it was capturing the last piece so the capture would in theory precede the check
My favourite Martin video was the one where you teamed up with him on the same side. That was both the most fun and the most interesting one. Instead of taking advantage of his blunders you had to deal with them. Would love to see a round 2 of that.
Challenge idea: You can only take a piece with an identical piece. KB by KB, Queen by Queen, etc.
Same applies to pawns (can only take a pawn by pawn). And you must checkmate by moving your King as the last move. (Discovered checkmate)
U can't take king's bishop with urs smh
@@You-hp3rl you actually can take your enemys king bishop with yours yk that?
@@ChrisTop8711 you can’t capture your opponent’s bishop king with your own bishop king since they’re on different colors and bishops can’t move to another color.
@@jackweslycamacho8982 arent they the same color? or did i mix them up
@@ChrisTop8711 the colors are reversed
good challenge idea: Do not let martin enter your teratory.
Martin will not be able to go past the 4th row and if he does he wins. You could also make it past the 5th rank if u want to make it easier
That would be very hard, as after 1 e4 (if Martin has white) or 1 .. e5 (if Martin has black), Martin can win on the next move and you cannot stop that. That really depends on Martin making random moves which aren't going to give it a instant win within a few moves.
@@AbiGail-ok7fc yea its very hard but duable i completed the challenge within 3 games
I did it on my 2nd game
@@yeahmans oh nice job bro :D
Challenge:
Roll a 6 sided dice or spin a wheel, what ever it lands on represents a different piece ( you choose )
The piece you selected must be moved by you, if it doesn't exist spin again. If there is no legal moves with that piece you lose.
The first piece is always a pawn.
Or a knight
Suggestion: Cannonball chess
Every two moves, Martin fires a cannon at a random square and if your piece is on that square it dies. But Martin's pieces have put on cannonball-proof armor so the cannonballs don't do anything to them.
Good luck!
i created a script in c++ to generate every tile:
text e;
std::cout
Alternate title- battleship chess
challenge idea: Frozen
your pieces can only move 'x' number of times, if they don't get captured after the final move, they remain frozen.
pawns - five moves each, bishops/knights - 6 moves each, queen/rooks - 4 each, king - 3
notes - castling is considered king move, not rook move; minor pieces divided by side (king bishop 6 moves, king knight 6 moves, king rook 4 moves, same for queen side)
does the pawn count as a pawn still after promotion
Martin Challenge "short term thinking": if you can take a piece you always have to do it, your highest value piece captures if there are multple options. Not allowed to CM while there is an option to take a piece. Pawns are not seen as piece for this challenge
Good cop bad cop chess you play against martin but he has help every second move from stockfish
Chess, but your army is tied together. Every piece/pawn must be connected through only horizontal, vertical and diagonal squares that also contain your pieces/pawns
Nelson after finishing the challenge: I think there us a good chance of checkmating him. (Thinking...)
Also Nelson: Mates in 3 moves
Nelsi: Martin's not gonna take the knight, he won't see it he's stupid so I can block the pin and kill the queens bishop.
Martin: kills knight with the pawn
Nelsi: depression face
BTW this was at 4:39
Challenge: 5 Head. You must choose your next 5 pieces to move at the start of turn one, state which order you will be using the pieces. Then you MUST follow that order.
Then after you have moved all 5 pieces successfully, start again choosing 5 and state the order repeat as needed.
If you cannot complete a future move because that piece was captured, you lose.
You may only win by stating checkmate within your predicted moves
Ex: EPawn. QB. QN. HPawn. Q.
Ex. QR, KR, Q, Q, Q#.
4:35 I like the plan to block the check with the knight from d6 instead of just using the knight to take the bishop. :D
Challange name scrmble.
Your goal to scramble your pieces(like chess960).
Method: first move knight, 2nd pawn, 3rd then bishop, 4th rook, 5th king, 6th queen. And repeat.
you must do this until no piece its on their home squares.
Rules: no checks and captures until you finish scrambling. Then you can go on and win the game.
Challenge idea
You roll an 8 sided die and whatever it lands on is the amount of squares that you have to move. If you cant you lose. Challenge starts at move two or three.
So, if you roll an 8, you lose instantly? Even a move from one corner to the opposite is only 7 squares. And unless you play something like 1 a4, 2 Ra3 or 1 e4, 2 Qh5, you'd lose if you roll a 6 or 7 on turn 3. And I don't think you can even move 6 squares on turn 2.
@@AbiGail-ok7fcmaybe instead of losing he can choose how many or something
Love these types of challenges
Challenge: for every turn, spin a wheel to see which piece you can move. for the first to move, it is compulsory to move pawns. if it is not possible to move the piece you rolled, roll again. against martin
Idea:
You have to spin a wheel for all the pieces, rook, knight, queen, ect excluding the king, and whatever it lands on, you have to take every piece with it.
Hey, Nelson! This was very entertaining to watch. That was quite a challenge! 😁
Challenger: Other versions
Him: *LETS APPLY EM ALL*
chess, but martin gets extra move every turn, after martin make a move, just upload position like it's martin move again, check on first move is checkmate.
Challenge idea: Martin has 2 random pieces that if you kill, then you loose the game
Capture chess, you can move 3 pawns at the start of the game, if you capture a knight for example you can move youre knight etc, if you need to move your king from a check you lose.
Eval Bar is having a heart attack lol
Challenge: use random to choose which piece should move next.
If move is impossible then random choice again.
Challenge idea:
The queen is dissatisfied with the army arrangement. She wants all minor and major pieces to move up one row. She convinced the king that only pawns can participate in the war until the new arrangement is established.
Bishops have to switch places (of course) when on the new row, queen and king switch places because the queen still likes to stand in the color she is wearing.
18:33 we all have blind spots
11 : 38 Because.....you know, he's Martin🤣
I thought this was going to be a slightly different challenge based on the title. I thought he was going to spin to pick one of his minor pieces as the assassin and then choose an enemy piece (or mark) that the assassin has to capture. The assassin cannot capture any other pieces except its mark and the player's other pieces cannot capture the mark. Other captures are fine as well as check, but no checkmate until the assassin has captured its mark. You can play with multiple assassins and marks at the same time or try assigning a new mark for your assassin once the first mark has been taken until all the minor pieces are captured for added difficulty.
thats a new record. more than 100 blunders against Martin.
Challenge: Limited number of squares moving. Start with a counter on, say 10. Subtract the number of squares you move from the counter. (So, a Rook going from a1 to a4 moves 3 squares, and a Bishop going from c1 to g5 moves 4 squares). At the end of the turn, add 2 to the counter. If your counter ever goes below 0, you lose. A Knights move counts as 2 squares.
Alternatively, use the real distance (1 for one square moves in each horizontal/vertical square moves, √2 for each square moved diagonally, and √5 for a Knights move), but that may be unwieldy for a video.
You could also start the counter at a higher number, and increase the counter by 1 at the end of the turn (or not increase at all).
Level up challange: each time you capture a piece, you go up a level of a bot (you start off with martin, you capture a piece, and then move to a 400 rated bot)
A harder mode: you cannot capture pawns.
Challenge: Chess but you’re working with the Chess FBI (Following Big Ideas). This means that you have to make VERY elaborate plots to checkmate, whether this means checkmating with unusual pieces, or a plan that takes a bunch of turns and chance to work.
challenge: when you kill a piece you have to move a the piece on your board that you just killed. like pawn kills knight so you have to move your knight next. If you don't have a particular piece you have to move the king
Challenge: You are not allowed to move your king, and lose if it is placed in check (even if you do not have to move your king to escape the check), and the game is a draw if the king is required to deliver checkmate with the current materials. You are not allowed to deliver any checks or checkmate for the first 15 moves of the game (to prevent cheesing the challenge via opening traps.)
Chess against Martin, but you have to pick the sequence of moves using pieces or pawns. For the rest of the game, you are forced to make a move in that sequence using that selected piece or pawn.
Challenge idea: Chess vs Martin, but you must promote all of your pawns.
Challenge idea: You can only move your king or a piece/pawn that's next to (orthogonally/diagonally) a piece/pawn you can move.
Challenge: Snooker. You must first take a Pawn then you must take any higher ranked piece and continue to alternate until everything is gone. You are allowed to put the King in check but you may not checkmate until you have taken every other piece of your opponents off the board.
at the end, not that it wouldve changed anything but i thought minor pieces ment pawns, unless its still just pieces 🤷♀️
knight does not begin with n Nelson
Challenge: Brave chess!
You can only move pieces forward. That mean you can't go backwards and sideway and no castling.
But if your pawn premote, that pawn will not be affected by these rules!
Assasin spinning a wheel, scary concept...
Challenge idea: every time you move with piece you have to make next move with other piece. If you move a bishop, then in next move you can't move any of bishops, etc.
Challenge: A wheel (or 2 rather) decides a position on the board randomly. There, you MUST move one of your pieces or a pawn within 6 moves (or less) else you must blunder a piece. I dont care if there's a piece guarding that square, or if that square if blocked off, or if a piece is on it. Good luck, you'll need it!
Challenge; you need to win but the first piece you take is randomly selected by A paper but before that you need to take his queen no matter what the bot is Martin
Challenge: Handicap Chess
You need to always be down an x amount of point of materials (excluding the opening, where you will sacrifice pieces to achieve that). If at any point, you have more material than the x amount you need to be down, then you lose the challenge (not even in trading, if you happen to take first)
Challenge at the start of the game spin a wheel with files: a b c d e f g h And a wheel with numbers 1-8 whitch square it lands on you have to go to that square and if only there is a piece only then you can capture it ( that means you cant capture any piece unless its on the squeare) and you cant play checkmate unless its the square you need to go on
when you get to the square you spin the wheels again for a new square you have to go on (if his piece moves to a square you had before you still cant take it you only have 1 square at a time)
if you are at the square you need to go it counts like you completed it
Martin challenge: play anti-chess with him. The one who sacrifices all his pieces first wins. If you can take a piece you have to.
In the first game you should've tried to take the bishop with your knight. That wouldn't have come with check.
Challenge:
You're a baby, learning to walk. You can only move your pieces one square at a time however, for every 2 Pieces a piece captures it is granted one more square to move (excluding pawns and kings of course).
A Knight can't move until you check Martin three times. 6 checks in total to unlock all knights.
Hypnotic chess challenge: Every piece or pawn in the opposite colored square are hypnotised. It is freezed and under an attack it gains consciousness to move freely. Stepping into an opposite colored square will lead to instant freeze
Castling is considered as a rook move
bishops go brr
use your pawns, martin don't seem to notice them
3:56 It said Other versions so you could still capture the bishop because the main challenge didn't say no checking
Did anyon else notice the 5 minutes he wasted by not reading the subheading
I tryed this one as well, great fun!
challenge idea: premove 1. the great wall of chin, 2. develop your knights and bishops, and 3. a random queen move and play on from there
what is the great wall of chin
@@dcrggreensheep the great wall of China is when you push all your pawns two squares to make a wall
QK, KK... c'mon Nelson. lol.
How about the "No Stress Chess" challenge? You might knwo, this js a version of chess where players randomly choose what piece to move. So, here are two versions:
1. On each move, you randomly choose the piece to move. If you can't move that, move the king. If that's not possible, you lose (some games may not even start, for example if you get bishop on the first move...). This you could implement in two ways: either with a spinner, or with a deck of cards, in which case you could count and at aome point you'd know what cards are left and what chances for pieces ou have... can turn interesting! I got my kids started in chess with this type of chess.
2. A different variant, which I think would prove very difficult, at least much more than it appears: on every move, you have to move the same type of piece as Martin, or else move your king.
How about these? I think these could be fun!
Thanks for all the content, I really love your unique style that sets you apart from the other chess channels. The puzzles are amazing!
Hi Nelson, new subscriber here. Greetings from Argentina, BTW.
Even if I´m not a regular chess player, I admire the mindset chessplayer have: their tactict, strateggies, etc.
Speeking of witch, some time ago I reed about an Armenian chess player named Tigran Petrosian who, aparently, was a great deciever, making his oponents believe he was going one way when he really has chasing the exact oposite, and most of them fell for that.
I haven´t seen all your videos so IDK if in the past you uploaded some of his games, but for new subs like myself I´d appreciate very much if you do so in the near future.
Have a nice one. Cheers from NE Patagonia, Argentina.

Challenge suggestion: Beat Martin without losing a piece and every other move has to be with the King.
now do it wifh another player but both players have to do the challenge and they don't know who is the opponent target
How about this: Chess v/s Martin but every 5th move you have to play a bad move. A bad move can include anything from losing material purposelessly, to a positional error, making a useless move or even hanging mate
Challenge: you can only move knights and pawns. Pawns can only promote to knights.
Variation: You're allowed to move your king IF it's the only way to get out of check.
Challenge : Everytime Martin captures a non-king nor non-pawn pieces, the piece that captured gets to promote up, Ex :
Pawn > Knight/Bishop (Wheel)
Knight/Bishop > Rook
Rook > Queen
When it said mate in 1 and he couldn’t do it really triggered me
Challenge : play chess against stockfish but you can make your self 5 abilities but not abilities which checkmates and checks you can only use 2 abilities one game
2nd Challenge:You need to sac a piece after every 15 moves checking resets the counter
3rd challenge: Try playing chess but you can't see your own pieces
4th challenge you have to give one of your pieces to marting but all of your pieces are queens except for pawns.
5th challenge: You get 50 moves try to beat chess with it but every round the moves used from last round will also be applied bht every brilliant move +6 moves and you have to play against Yourself
6th challenge:You have to sac fhe the piece the wheel lands on
7th challenge: Try to play against all of the bots but you only get 30 moves everytime
Chess but Martin has 24 extra pawns
Challange. If u can take any piece, u have to do it. Kinda like checkers
Just wanted to say this is a great channel.
Challenge: Beat Martin without ever being ahead in material
Pawn=1
Knight=3
Bishop=3
Rook=5
Queen=9
Challenge: You have no pieces instead there are pawns on every place where a piece would be and before mating martin you have to make all the pieces out of pawns and put them on their normal starting point.
Challenge: Play martin but every so often stockfish gets a turn to play a move for Martin and seeing how many stockfish moves Martin needs to beat you
Challenge: Chess, but your queen is brave. Every time you make a move, the next move must be a queen move. Every time your queen comes to the left or right side of the board, your pieces ( and pawns ) must move to the direction of your queen.
idea: cant move a king
unless in check
no castles allowed

The inability to touch pawns is BRUTALLY debilitating.
Challenge idea: play Martin but every time you take a piece you have to move a pawn on the next move
Note: if there are no pawns then move a bishop or knight, if there are none of them than move a rook, if no rook then move a queen
Challenge: chess but you can only use your Queen and the d pawn, but you have to give up your queen if it's ever under attack. You're not allowed to take pawns but everytime one of your pawns get captured you can move another mayor piece for the next 3 turns. Your D pawn can move as a king, but you lose if it gets captured and you win if you promote it to a knight with check.
challenge: teens chess: your pieces are teens and they like running so if you want to move them then you can only move them at the edges or bump in to another piece. This rule does not apply to pawns and the king. if there is a check that the piece could make no matter what square then, all pieces will be in your control and you can move them where you like.
Checkmate martin by killer pawn 😂😂
Challenge: you have to move a peice/pawn according to the piece value. So you you to move a pawn, then knight, bishop, rook, queen
Challenge: you can nly take pics like this KN takes KN QB takes QB and you can't take pawn (mirror chess)
Challenge:for every move you make you need to do 2 other premoves
or
play With Martin but he has 10 min and you just have 1
7:07 “ I guess I’ll move that rock try to save it” proceeds to hang it😂
hey nelson in next video you are able to your own pieces
You have to play Martin but it will be a 5 minute game and you have to play Martin 4 at the same time also on all four boards you will bhe down the queen
challenge : wheel of FAITH, you have a wheel with a normal turn having the weight of 67 give enemy a queen having the weight of 3 and give yourself a pawn also having the weight of 3 and switch colors having the weight of 1
the eval 💀
Challenge: LOSE against Martin in a King vs King, Bishop and Knight endgame with just the 4 pieces on the board
you missed the dark squared bishop you couldve took it with your knight
Challenge : you can't activate your pieces unless the same piece but white is activated . For Example : white moves their queen
after that you can also move your queen . Unlocking pieces Chess
Possible challenge? Play both Chess and Checkers simultaneously, but you must win the Checkers game first before winning the Chess game.
18:12 AND HE SACRIFICES THE QUEEN
18:54 AND MARTIN SACRIFICES THE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK
challenge:every time you capture a piece you lose that same piece too vice versa
As a 1200 rated player i sometimes miss mate in one.😅
