*I love filmmaking! So I appreciate all the editing and cinematography that you put into these videos! I love the lighting and coloring of the footage! The sound of the cobbler's workshop, with all the tools used on the boots is really cool! You know how to immerse your audience into your work! You all do amazing work with boots, and fixing them! The end result of these boots turned out incredible! I love your channel! Keep up the good work! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷😊*
VERY disappointed to see the lack of quality in these. I have several pairs of exotic skin Luccheses and this is not what I was hoping to see in them! NICE job on the recrafting!
At one time, Lucchese was a good brand. I am old and have watched them head south in quality over time, as so many others have as well. Quality deteriorating in manufacturing made me stop wearing cowboy boots and many years of wearing poor footwear in the Army for 28yrs. My arches are gone! Wedge soles on lace up boots is the limit for me these days. You really did a masterful job rebuilding those boots. The customer will be thrilled for sure. I am new to the channel and love what you guys are doing. I enjoy the videos a great deal. Oh, with motorcycles it is never IF you have an accident, it is WHEN. Just saying.
this is the first time to see your show. beautiful boots! I have to say that I am in awe. forgive me for stating the obvious but you have become so skilled at your craft that it's second nature to you. your work is amazing and your brother stories are great funny feel-goods. my day has just gotten a little brighter. thank you.💃🐎
Well I'm certainly glad and thankful to God that you survived your motorcycle incident nice job you're doing on the boots came across this channel by just channel surfing I'm glad I did
Amazing work!!! True master of your craft!! Loved the motorcycle story almost had the exact same story except my brother was younger and it was a Yamaha YZ 125 me and the pavement didn't agree with each other either! Keep up the great content!!
Question: having had shoes re-soled in the past, I've noticed that they seemed somewhat smaller. I suppose that is because the sides were drawn into the replaced sole. Is that the case with the boot or is that where you referenced avoiding the boot feeling 'like new"? Geat vid - many thanks!
Unfortunately, a lot of cobblers stick the soles around the edges first and then hammer or press the center. The shoe is relaxed because the soles were removed. They stick it to the relaxed edges and the center is sunk in. That makes the shoes feel and actually be tighter. The proper thing to do is stick the center first and then roll the pressure to the edges. Then the shoe feels the same size as it was when it came in for repair
Lemonwood pegs are great when making the boots. They also work great when the inner soles are replaced. On a resole job, brass nails clinch grabbing a small place in the inner soles. Brass doesn’t rust or eat away at the leather. Lemonwood requires a fresh hole or an exact hit on an existing hole to hold properly. The old holes from previous sole cannot be seen from the outside once a new sole is placed on. The risk of creating an oblong hole that won’t hold up is too great. Therefore, it is much safer and secure to use brass clinching nails in a resole scenario.
Are you able to remove and replace a steel toe with a mock toe boot? Brand New thorogood boots with a comp toe and hate the look. Want a mock toe in the same boot.....
It wasn’t conditioned properly for sure. However, it would have broken in those places regardless. The backing that they normally put in those areas was maligned and not helping at all.

I personally suggest Rios of Mercedes for high end cowboy boots. Or legit custom pairs from a few bootmakers in Texas
@@gnarl12 I second that Rios of Mercedes a little less expensive and their quality and customer service is top notch. If you want comfort and quality.
@@gnarl12 what about Anderson bean
@@user-no9qb6lj7c excellent as well and very reasonably priced
Great 1st boot story, even better job on boots. Thank you for posting.

I know where I'm sending my new Cuadra boots when a new sole is needed. Keep up the good work guys.
Story time with Tony while recrafting.. Nice video!
We thought we would try that approach. Lol
I will probably watch this a hundred plus times while recovering from my second surgery I feel like I’m there in the shop and I could stay all day.
We hope your recovery goes well!
Awesome job brother!! Can’t wait to send y’all my pawpaws two pair to redo and put my spin on them!

Pavement and dirt bike tires are not the best combination. Lol.
Turned out gorgeous looking, A++
Master at work there. Subscribed!!!
Really nice work & video! 👍
I always come back to watch this video. You really do wonderful & high quality work! Cheers y'all. 👍
Awesome video and work and the stories are a great addition!
Amazing work! Really enjoyed the video.
True craftsman! Love the motorcycle story.
Great video and amazing boots
Amazing work! I have that same boots when the start to break down I know where to send them.
Unfortunate qc problems for such an expensive boot. But great job as always.
Very nice work!!!
Great work! What do you normally charge on a recraft like that?
That job was $400.
Good job 👍
Beautiful!

Good job, great story 😂
Best video ever!! 😌
When the time comes I'm sending my boots here
We appreciate it!
Beautiful work! I will be interested to learn why you used brass nails instead of the Lemonwood pegs, though....
Lemonwood pegs are great when making the boots. They also work great when the inner soles are replaced. On a resole job, brass nails clinch grabbing a small place in the inner soles. @@WyattDadCobblerCompany - Thank you so much. I knew there had to be a reason, and this makes perfect sense!
That’s typical with giant scales, they just can’t hold together. Has nothing to do with the boot maker or quality control.
Beyond cool
Great job!
I'm looking at buying Lucchese boots. Do you have a favorite boot company that builds boots the right way? Thanks
It depends on your budget for boots as to which company is best.
Cowboy boots that is.
Do you consider Lucchese one of the best?@@WyattDadCobblerCompany
I guess a Lucchese budget.@@WyattDadCobblerCompany
Had the same issue with giant gator Lucchese start splitting within a few weeks of ownership. Sent them back.
I’m glad it happened quick enough for you to be able to return them.
@@WyattDadCobblerCompanyI’ve seen this happen to so many people. Not even worth buying those
@@bharles4479 it is very high risk for sure.
so nice I would hate to walk in them.
Are you able to remove and replace a steel toe with a mock toe boot? Brand New thorogood boots with a comp toe and hate the look. Want a mock toe in the same boot.....
We can remove the steel toe, but not restructure a new toe box. Something like that requires relasting the uppers. We don’t offer relasting services.
I'd love to find a deal on a pre owned pair of those.
Is that style of gator prone to weak areas compared to the smaller scale gator scales?
Yes, because the soft area is larger also
Sure wish this would have been in true colors.
How long did the complete job take you?
Didn’t really time this job. When filming, it takes hours to do minutes worth of work.
Oh man that gator skin wasn't conditioned well. Gator, croc and caiman NEED lots of love to keep nice.
It wasn’t conditioned properly for sure. However, it would have broken in those places regardless. The backing that they normally put in those areas was maligned and not helping at all.
@@WyattDadCobblerCompany ohh man that's not good at all.
I was pretty disappointed in that when I saw it.
That's why ostrich is the best of both worlds. Soft yet strong. Not as much maintenance needed either. Just a good exotic conditioner.
No lemon wood pegs?
Definitely not on a repair job. Wood pegs should only be used on new boots or when replacing the footbed’s.
Is there a way to do a nailed leather heel without a metal last? 15:20
Yes. You can drive the nails from the inside
I only wish it’d like me add more like credits since I watch this videos so many times.
Thanks!!
Oooooh, so that's how it's pronounced
wow you didn't record the total recraft just to save time ? Why ?
It takes an hour just to sew the welts on by hand. We figure there are some things people wouldn’t sit and watch that long.
Lol cool story
I guess they don't make em like they use to
They still do, but it costs a lot more. They lowered quality to match consumer budgets
Afraid I can’t see what you’re talking about. Reco more more closer video on the boot.
They are not very good at all
Great video & work 👏🏻👍🏻
