Wow, that was very educational. Unfortunately there are neither shoes like these nor shoemakers like you here in Germany 😀 So I have the utmost respect for this work, keep up the good work.
*Those boots look amazing! Thank you for sharing a very thorough video about these cowboy boots! It was so informative!* *With cowboy boots, would having a midsole make them too stiff for walking? I'm asking since it's something I noticed with many cowboy boots. I've read that having an outer sole is sufficient.*
I personally prefer to have a midsole on my boots. It’s a lot more comfortable, but yes it would make them a little bit more stiffer, but will break in no problem.
Why is it some boots run drastically different in sizing? Do these run large or small? I’m all over the place in boot sizing lol. Ariat Wide Toe-9 Ariat Cutter Toe-9.5 Old Gringo Square Toe-9 Tecova Square Toe 9.5 Moon Shine Spirit 10

Great idea for a video. I own some vintage HYER boots, so I appreciate the comparison with the new generation of boots. The new ones appear to be high quality and are well priced. In your video, the lining on the vintage pair looks like pigskin while the new ones look like thin cow leather. Am I right about that and is one preferable to the other?
No they unfortunately are not. He tried to contract with an American boot maker but they were al to capacity. So they are made in Leon Mexico. Hopefully, they will be made in USA someday soon.
All that being said, boots from Leon aren't anything to sneeze at. So do whatever you like, but get them at these prices if you want them because the made in USA boots will be at least $200 more expensive, most likely.
I think maybe they will, but their main customer is gunna be the working cowboy/cowgirl and those who ride horses and such plus those who want those styles. The problem with many mondern western boots is too much textile material and not enough being made out of genuine leather, including vegetan leather which lasts longer and has more durability than the vast majority of shoes and boots made from textile materials. That's just my thought process though
Great work man! We appreciate your support. Ride HYER!
It was my pleasure @jvc3312 had a question he commented about the lining of the boots.
I don't need any more boots but i guess i need a new pair now.
Life is Boots...Boots is Life! 🤠
The new Hyers actually are built a little better than the vintage ones! Interesting.
I’ve been wanting to purchase a pair for quite some time now, but I’m happy this video came out because I was a little bit weary. Thank you.
@@tonymarinelli7304 my pleasure thank you for watching
That was so cool to watch! Great video, and very skilled work there too!

Beautiful work as usual! Great review on both pairs of boots!❤

Excellent work n video. Oliver is a pro. Guess we will see Oliver boots in the future. Blessings.
@@juliochingaling5824 thank you for the kind words. OG Boots?? Maybe we shall see 🤔
@@Theshoeman02 you can do it.
@@juliochingaling5824 potentially one day I’ll start making custom boots. There is still a lot for me to learn about boot making
Fantastic resole job on both pairs. I have 2 pairs of the newer Hyer's, Hays and Spearville. I like them and built quite well. Reasonable prices also.
Great work. Great video.
Dude that looks real good!

The old boots look great! Are you sure they are from the early 1900s? 😮
@@goodrich06 I’m not too sure, I can’t really read any of the date codes on the inside but they sure are old

I’m honestly not too sure maybe @hyer boots could help answer that?
The lining in our new boots is made of calf skin. Super soft!

Yes most boot craftsman are based in Leon Mexico. The boots made in the USA, guess who makes them too? 😂😂

They should introduce more boot styles, not just roper and cowboy boots.

The old ones look way better
Because they’re not square toes, square toes especially in a wide square toe are just double stitched clown shoes.
