    In my opinion on the 6.7 a good few preventative/ maintenance items would be , 1. Dcr conversion , 2. fleece upper fuel filter billet replacement, 3. Weight loss, 4. Ccv reroute/delete , 5. Upgraded deep trans pan, 6. A upgraded fleece in tank lift pump setup(no issues with 1/4 tank) Your video is super on point with what to do and look out for🤘🏽

    Solid advice. My 2018 f250 6.7 has 230k miles and counting, I have done everything you mentioned when the truck had 40k miles on it.

    Bought my 2020 two years ago with 65k miles. Did everything you mentioned. I upgraded the engine fuel filter to a Baldwin, had a S&S kit on it, HSM cold side pipe, drained the transmission at 68k and refilled filter, etc., and just last weekend spent some time and put the DCR on it.. now just need some exhaust to fall off

    If I am going to replace pans I think I will go to Banks. Gale Banks is the best place for diesel. I know it’s the cost, either pay now or pay more later.

    My 2012 f550 has all the goodies. S&B cold air intake and their hot and cold side pipes. Polar diesel CCV delete. Full weight loss program. SPE upper and lower rad hoses. Runs like a damn freight train

    Great video, I would add to the list swapping the upper filter to fleece Donaldson adapter, change tons of them that have cracked… and see way too many burnt up from fuel ignition on the exhaust manifolds.

    I have installed a couple S&S disaster prevention kits and the updated CCV filter for customers that have the 6.7. I run some cheap transmission fluid or 2 stroke oil in my diesel tanks for extra lubrication in my older diesels (7.3 & 5.9) transmission fluid you have to watch out because it'll look like you run off-road diesel 😂😂😂

    FYI WIX filter does filter better then OEM, and have much deeper pleats, so take much longer to over clog.

    • @LeftLaneDiesels
      @LeftLaneDiesels  2 дні тому

      @@renurenovationsllc7780 I can’t speak on which one filters better, but I can say that in my experience I have seen wix filters suck the filter minder down. Only on trucks that are T&D. Stock trucks don’t seem to have the issue with WIX.

    • @renurenovationsllc7780
      @renurenovationsllc7780 2 дні тому

      I cannot speak for that kind of issue, I can very much understand your concern in failures of that nature. I have NA engines, and WIX flowed the best, aside from being an oiled style filter, because of the deeper pleats, and still did very well with performance. I would not risk that in a truck that was at risk of eating a filter though.

    Hello sir, great video ! How about the timing gear that slip on the crankshaft ? Do it need to be TIG welded for maximum reliability or it’s not a common problem ?

    • @LeftLaneDiesels
      @LeftLaneDiesels  8 днів тому +2

      @@Quebecer_Powerstroke this is a great question. It’s rare, but does happen, just like some spin main bearings. I’ve heard of instances where a failing cp4 put to much load on the gear train causing it to slip, as well as the high hp guys running high rpms. My advice is to not worry about it, but if given the opportunity where the front cover is off, I would consider getting it welded.

      @Quebecer_Powerstroke 8 днів тому

      Thanks !

  • @edwardbattista
    @edwardbattista 5 днів тому

    CP4 failure rate is 7% and that includes the failures from the Duramax with the mechanical lift pump.
    93% of CP4s never fail. People freak out about it because if it goes, you are replacing an expensive fuel system. But it’s definitely not a “when” for 93% of CP4 equipped vehicles.
    Don’t use wet fuel (check your primary), use an additive, don’t skip PM and you will have a 300k+ truck.
