    I see a lot of negative things here and people forgetting what Bonner has brought to this club and the league he's taken the club to. Yes the results recently haven't been good the last couple of games but without Bonner, this club would still be at the foot of League 2 , maybe back in non league. He kept the team up last season and League one is a tough league for a club like this. What are people expecting? Playoffs? When you've got teams that could easily be premier league teams in this division given their sizes?
    They're going to have these bad runs and even though there's not been many wins, there have been some good results like the draws Vs Derby, Portsmouth and Wycombe.

      Don't thunk its the position mate. It was the way they was playing football. I'm afraid it wasn't football anymore. It was shocking and diabolical never seen anything like it . The board made the right decision even if its dad. No Tom wes and mullin carried the team up. We let 6 7 players go and got in terrible players. We expect them to try and not pass the ball to the other team that's not high expectations

      @@olivermarks2831 Bonner signed Mullin and Wes. Give him some credit for that. Some of the players that got let go either weren't good enough or were probably asking for too much money.

      @tombardsley3081 true but u can't play football like that. Don't get me wrong it's very sad and I didn't think they would anyways. I think the board do have certain over the board expectations for a team with a small budget. But at the end of day mate. U cannot play that bad of football . And the manager does carry the can. It's not all he's fault no but we've seen in the past different manager different mentality. I think we will still go down if they continue to play ridiculous formations.

    Bonner is doing his best with an underperforming team. We have to give him time to turn it around. Hopefully he will be able to sign a few loanees in the January window. If you get rid now who will you get with no money to spend? We need to back him.

    When he took over he was a breath of fresh air who instilled belief and confidence in a team that had become utterly abject under the previous manager. When we got to L1 initially we took the underdog tag and used it to have a go at teams on the counter and got results. We may still be overachieving just by being in L1, but it seems to have become negative tactics with a negative mindset and none of it works. We were promised an improved squad this season to kick on again. There may be better individuals in the squad, but as a unit, they are not functioning and haven't done for most of the season. Whether the players don't care or whether the management are simply no longer able to organise and motivate them, it has become a case of excusing ineptitude and telling us what these players can't do. It's not good enough, the fans have supported in their numbers last season and this. They deserve better and they will demand better or that changes are made to the management of the team. The season cannot be allowed to just drift along in the vague hope that using the same ideas with the same personnel week in, week out, might suddenly click into some improvement. The fans won't stand for it and nor should they. Unfortunately, Bonner is turning us back into the abject mess that he inherited.

    As bad as our attack-minded players are, I just don't understand how you fail to have a shot on target in a home game against a mid-table side you're favourites to beat until the 83rd minute!
    It's going to be 1 league win in 103 days and counting after we don't win at Charlton, which is a disgrace, as is 6 goals from open play in 15 games!
    I think most fans want Bonner to go now, which isn't surprising given how few games we've won, how few goals we've scored and how little entertainment we've seen for over a year now but there are other people to blame for our predicament, like:
    The players for underperforming and making costly errors.
    Ben Strang for building this squad.
    Paul Barry and co. for underfunding the squad.
    I personally think Bonner has done enough over the past few years to be given a season to bring us back up if and when we go down but I would be sad about the way things ended, rather than devastated that he's gone if we brought in a new manager right now.
    One thing is for sure, whoever is our manager in 5 weeks' time needs to be allowed to bring in at least 4 or 5 decent players because this lot certainly aren't good enough to stay in this league!

      @Ernest_Thesiger 9 місяців тому

      @@RichardOwen-js6zp To be honest, I hadn't double-checked the table when I said you were mid-table but if Charlton and Bristol Rovers played and won their games in hand before your next game, you'd be 11th, which is mid-table!
      I was referring to the odds when I said we were favourites to beat you.

    • @RichardOwen-js6zp

      @@Ernest_Thesiger you were 0-2 down by the 83rd minute so not favourites to win - and Lincoln are one of the favourites for Playoffs this season with arguably the strongest coach in the division... a point would of been a good result for you

    • @Ernest_Thesiger
      @Ernest_Thesiger 9 місяців тому

      @@RichardOwen-js6zp The bookies thought we were favourites to beat you before the game started. We didn't have a shot on target until the 83rd minute.
      "Lincoln are one of the favourites for Playoffs this season" You are the 10/1 12th favourites to finish in the top 6!
      So William Hill think you'll finish 12th, or as I call it, mid-table!
      "We arguably have the strongest coach in the division" Well that's certainly a bold statement after him being in charge for just four games!
      It was never my intention to have a go at Lincoln. You're clearly better than us and I didn't expect us to beat you.
      I just think when you're playing a side that isn't one of the favourites for promotion at your own place(you're currently 80/1 to go up), you should expect to have a shot on target before the 83rd minute!

    Mark you will always be the gaffer that brought us up, gave us a great first season in League One, gave us a magical FA Cup run which included a day at St. James's Park that we'll never forget and you gave us the scenes last season. You're Cambridge through and through, once a U always a U. All that said I do believe a change was needed, things became a bit stale at the end. The board need to take decisive action now to try and save the season. Go down and crowd figures drop and we’ll have a. ‘White elephant’ of a much vaunted training ground not with the players the club hoped this would attract to the club. Players are only interested in what league and status they play at and money because of their short careers and, like it or not, football is a business and not a passion, one win in thirteen is appalling and if Bonner was at other clubs, he would have gone by now so he knows how lucky he is to still have a job; that being said, the players are also responsible for the displays they have put in so they need to look at themselves and question their performance.

    • @tombardsley3081

      What’s the expectation though? This team is nowhere near good enough to be mounting a top half challenge. It is midtable at best and in this league as one of the smaller, there are going to be bad runs.

      @@tombardsley3081 I think the club’s plan was to stay in league one for as long as possible so they could ‘bed in’ last season’s youth team gradually, saving money in the process whilst preserving their league one status but you need a team now who can stay and, importantly, want to play in league one and I, personally, am not seeing players wanting this. There’s effort being put in I don’t doubt that but it’s not constructive effort, it’s not getting us anywhere and there’s no reward

      I hoped that I would not see Bonner sacked but the club cannot afford to be relegated. I watched what happened to the club when we dropped into the National League and we only just survived, we do not want to see those days again. I said a few weeks back that Gary Rowatt might be a good fit for United, a Us old boy, experienced Championship manager, if he was interested in the job I would seriously consider him but not Lee Johnson.

    • @tombardsley3081
      @tombardsley3081 9 місяців тому

      @@trevorpeck3572 i doubt Rowett comes in given where he's been club wise and that he left on his own terms at Millwall. He's probably waiting for another championship side. And Lee Johnson is at Fleetwood so no chance of him coming in.
      Worst one I would hate to see would be Gareth Ainsworth. Awful football at Wycombe. Yeah relegation would be a problem but I don't think there was anyone else that would do a better job that would be in Cambridge's price range manager wise.
