Dalton was much darker, and more serious, Moore's bond was too jokey and too full of outlandish gadgits, licence to kill is still very watchable unlike many of the Moore and Connery movies which look very dated now.

I love that depth he brings to Bond's character and that part of humanity in him. His movies literally changed the face of Bond movies. The cinematography, the action sequences, made the movies way more darker that it ever was. Loved how in the end of the interview Daniel talked about rarity of James Bond movies. You've added a part of your personality and life to the cinema history, Mr. Craig, and it is a valuable input. Thank you Daniel Craig. Thank u for great movies like; Casino Royale, Skyfall and NOW No Time To Die; my favourite Bond movie/ any movie of all time. I got recommended this in 2023. I can’t quite believe I was 12 when this film came out when I saw it in the cinema. even at a young age, I remember thinking this will be a complete disaster as I absolutely adored Pierce Brosnan. In about two hours and 20 minutes, my opinion changed, and changed forever. Even though I disliked three of his films, they all had fantastic moments and he was never the problem with those films. Always classy, always cool, will probably always be my favourite bond ❤
Reporter: "Are you looking forward to becoming a legend?" Craig: "I don't know about that." 15 years hence, No Time to Die (Craig's final Bond film) is out. The world *some folks wiping tears* : "The perfect James Bond of this generation."
So I’ve learned a short phrase - don’t judge the book by its cover. I do remember how every one say no to this Bond before Casino Royale, and how he become a legend now. I just watched No Time to Die from cinema ! And YT gave me this.
I remember thinking they completely missed the mark with him. Taking Bond in some unwanted direction (like they are definitely doing now). I owe Daniel an apology. He nailed it like none before him.
I grew up with Daniel Craig being James Bond and it's quite crazy to think it has come to an end, he began when I was 5 years old and I'm now 20. One of the best, definitely transformed the role and made it his own, to which I think is the best.
Glad to see people owning up to the fact they were wrong about him. That's refreshing. Usually people keep quiet about that and pretend they were always in favour of something. I always had faith he could work in the role ever since watching Layer Cake. To be fair, in hindsight, his long, floppy blond hair in this press interview probably didn't do him any favours.
I've read all of Ian Fleming's James Bond books and I think Daniel Craig's is the most authentic portrayal of 007. A stone cold killer at heart. All the nookie was just for sport.
Incredible to think what a PR disaster this launch was at the time. Seemed like Craig was toast before a frame had been shot. Didn't work out like that though.
He’s been the best James Bond, had the most consistent James Bond films and Casino Royale is 100% the best James Bond film and to think people hated this casting cos he didn’t look like the traditional dark hair, brown eyes bond
When he was announced, I wasn’t aware that he became the new bond at the time. At first I thought: “Brosnan can do one more.” But then after he was fired, Craig got the job and I was quite surprised about it at first, but after he was announced, I was like: “Let’s give him a chance.” And when Casino Royale came out on November 17, 2006, I was blown and taken by Craig’s performance. When the end credits rolled, I said: “That was the best James Bond film ever! Craig was extraordinarily amazing and fantastic in the role! Let’s see more of him!” And he did, he actually did. Craig was also my favorite 007. I also miss him as bond after his run concluded with No Time To Die. I even had the privilege of seeing the 5 films that he did as well. Thanks Daniel for being the best bond ever! Hats off to you lad!
REPORTER: “Are you looking forward to becoming legend?” DANIEL: “Oh, I don’t know about that.” Modest as you were then, and to you are now, you did become that, sir... that you did... 😎
I remember at the time I thought Craig was an odd and curious choice. Very odd. But of course, we were silenced by his brilliance in the role, which he made his own. He defined a new era in the Bond franchise and Casino Royale is one of my favourite movies.
Wow amazing memory! Also funny how this video from the beginnigs of 2000s looks like the 90s. It's incredible how technology has improved since then that makes something from a few years ago absolutely obsolete. But mainly, great presentation and outstanding job from Daniel Craig in these movies!

It's very interesting to look back at this in hindsight, as Mr Craig's final outing as Bond is almost upon us. I remember thinking at the time "hang on, he was f*ing Geordie Peacock!!" However, oh how he surpassed expectations in Casino Royale, and the No Time To Die trailers suggest that he is going to go out in style (BTW if they kill Bond, I'm done for good). The writing has perhaps been a bit up and down, but he absolutely nailed the portrayal required of him in every outing IMHO. The rest of his work both before and during his tenure as Bond highlight what a damn fine actor he is, the Steve McQueen of his day, and much more to boot. Whilst we never truly know our 'heroes', he seems like an all round good bloke, and I'd like to think if any of us bumped into him in a quiet moment, were polite and respectful and didn't behave like a starstruck idiot, he'd be ok in return. So via the medium of the ether, I raise a glass to Daniel Craig, successful custodian of the 007 role, and wish both him and his successor the best for their future careers.
@navigate48 I hope your contact was feeding you disinformation. As the actor himself said the other day, new parts should be written, and not old roles recycled that devalue those taking them. James Bond is a white male; Idris Elba can’t play him as much as Daniel Craig couldn’t play Virgil Tibbs. However, there’s a certain undeniable logic to James Bond dying and there being a new 007. It’ll be a shame although it’s also difficult to see where another actor could take the Bond role. Mixed feelings now.
@@HoLd_My_Beer_Thanks I guess that’s the way this could go, James Bond dies, and there’s a new 007…called whatever the new MI6 agent assigned to the seventh ‘00’ position happens to be called…I sincerely hope not though.

Nervous and had NO idea what he was getting into. Present 2021. He answers with a much more confident and knowledgeable perspective on it because he is MORE than damn used to it now.

Daniel Craig is definitely the modern day version of Sean Connery. When he was 1st announced to become the next James Bond back in 2005, no doubts a lot of people felt disappointed, puzzled, alarmed and maybe angered that Daniel Craig is replaced by Pierce Brosnan. They didn't expect that once Casino Royale came out in 2006, people watched it and they truly loved it, the fans praises Daniel Craig and respects him for his best performance as James Bond. The people even felt very sorry for attacking him when he was 1st announced as the new 007. Since then Daniel Craig brought back the dark, gritty, realistic character approach that Ian Fleming envisioned from his novels. Daniel Craig simply did what Timothy Dalton did back 20 years ago and has fleshed the James Bond character back to life in a serious and dark tone. He did a successful job, I love all his James Bond movies. I hope he returns for Bond 25, I have great hopes if he comes back again :D

After watching all of Craig's films, I got chills after he said "It's not a question of redefining, but it's a question of taking it somewhere maybe where it's never gone before."
I still remember the critics: "Bond will NEVER be blonde! Ridiculous!"
Wasn’t Roger Moore blonde?
Now he’s a black woman
@@jamesdelo3031 u stupid? She was 007 not James Bond
@@jamesdelo3031 It’s the same stupid outrage, it’s a fictional character, Bond being black would not be a problem, the only main aspect they need to keep is him being British and male, everything else is fine.

I watched No time to die movie yesterday. Craig's Bond is more releastic, vulnerable and darker. It's has been a 15 years long journey for him.
So with that, what did you think of the film? was villain weak as I have been reading in reviews?
@@rafaelb1095 Movie is mediocre. It's a one time watch in theaters. Rami Malek's acting as Sarfin is good but no character development.
I remember this very announcement and thought OMG him??? he cant be Bond, But.... seriously he is the best Bond ever in my eyes, he plays it so well and it suits him so very much! Hope he plays it a few more times!
He was the best bond from 2006-2021 15 years later he’s still great with his final film
He's been a great bond. Timothy dalton is hugely underrated too in my opinion. They hugely rebooted the franchise with him as they did with craig and it worked so well
Dalton was much darker, and more serious, Moore's bond was too jokey and too full of outlandish gadgits, licence to kill is still very watchable unlike many of the Moore and Connery movies which look very dated now.
@@nicolajohnson1887 the thing that dated Connery's movies the most for me are the women and how they were generally treated

Hoping Henry cavil is the next bond…. Much like brosnan was wanted for bond when dalton got it…..Cahill was to young when he was a contender for the role before Craig was cast
Anyone here after watching the new movie?
I never watched Bond films until Daniel Craig came along. He hooked me in and attracted my attention; ever since then, I have loved every bit of his movies.
I'll miss you being my James Bond, the one I grew up watching and still do, reminiscing how cool you are all while still looking up to you. ❤
To whoever is the next James Bond they have got huge shoes to fit in. This gent has been the best Bond ever. His Bond has taken the films into the stratosphere. I’ve loved the series since I was a little girl and cried as No Time To Die ended. Oh my days what a guy.
Daniel Craig’s time as Bond is already over… 5 films…. 16 years….. where did those years go?! He’s been fantastic as Bond. ❤❤❤❤❤
Daniel Craig has been my personal favourite James Bond, he’s set the standard really high for the next actor whoever they might be and I hope that the film is as good as I’m hoping that it will be. If I ever get to meet the bloke I’ll be sure to buy him a drink or ten to say thanks.
Daniel Craig excels all the James Bonds and brings it to this whole new level. This man made a whole new world with his time frame and the position he was in while playing James Bond. Daniel Craig is the absolute epitome of any actor reforming, improving & developing a movie to a 110% piece of work; always going above and beyond all expectations. He truly brings the movies to the top. Thanks Daniel Craig, Ml to my hero Craig... Daniel Craig :)

Damn this was so long ago, but looking back at this, its fascinating. They got the best guy despite initial backlash from what i gathered. Its weird seeing daniel him with long blond hair but man he embodies bond, he revitalized the franchise and he did became best bond ever, we will miss him
Ahh it was 2005 bruh….casino royal came out in 06…..it was only 15 yrs ago
Casino Royal was ok… all Craig’s other films are mediocre
I got recommended this in 2023. I can’t quite believe I was 12 when this film came out when I saw it in the cinema. even at a young age, I remember thinking this will be a complete disaster as I absolutely adored Pierce Brosnan. In about two hours and 20 minutes, my opinion changed, and changed forever. Even though I disliked three of his films, they all had fantastic moments and he was never the problem with those films.
Always classy, always cool, will probably always be my favourite bond ❤
He'd make a great James Bond. I'd say he'd be a great bond for 15 years and 5 movies.
I reckon your right about that one 😉
Oh god i forgot about Quantum of Solace lol
This has aged like a glass of fine wine, or should I say, like a glass of Vesper Martini?

I always had faith he could work in the role ever since watching Layer Cake.
To be fair, in hindsight, his long, floppy blond hair in this press interview probably didn't do him any favours.
I've read all of Ian Fleming's James Bond books and I think Daniel Craig's is the most authentic portrayal of 007. A stone cold killer at heart. All the nookie was just for sport.

Timothy Dalton was the most accurate portrayal of Ian Flemings bond but craig was good too
Incredible to think what a PR disaster this launch was at the time. Seemed like Craig was toast before a frame had been shot. Didn't work out like that though.

The most inconsistent Bond would be more accurate. Casino Royale and Skyfall were great but the rest was either mediocre or trash.
That shit is unbelievable
Yesterday I watched No Time To Die and today I got this in my youtube recommendations
Daniel Craig looks like he'd be the most physical 007 yet. Good luck to him. For Queen and Country lad!

@navigate48 Hope not - If it goes the way I suspect then it’s 50 years down the toilet! 🙁
