Fun Fact: Dario Casali, who made these two maps and half of Plutonia, went on to become Lead Level Designer for Half-Life, where he continued his proud tradition of ball-breaking traps in FPS games.

I remember getting stuck on that level as a kid. Ended up loading the wad into deepsea and discovered the key was missing. Added it in myself, don't remember where. Felt like a boss though at the ripe age of 14 lol.
The infamous yellow key glitch of Map31 of TNT Evilution should be noteworthy of an analysis video of the unused map content of the commercial Doom games if decino is interested.

This map is beautiful for the time it was made, I love this map regardless of the broken yellow key flaw, I love this map so much, My 9 real old self was blown away by the beauty of this map. Map 31 is my favorite official Doom Map to date. Map 31 holds a special place in my heart.
Reminds me of Tomb Raider maps, so unique for the time and platform!
Yeah, I like it a lot as well (even though I was lost back then before I knew about the broken yellow key lol). I also love the music they chose for it which you usually hear at the end screen.

9:59 that's the main problem i see in TNT, they just drag the levels with rows of hitscanners, after a long level the cyberdemon could be the end, but no, let's put 60 low level hitscanners before the end.

Both of these maps were made by Dario Casali, the guy who got a job at Valve after his fine work in Plutonia/TNT.

The yellow key is actually supposed to be inside that sarcophagus with a crushing ceiling trap. They were kinda lazy just dropping it nearby with little consideration. Still an amazing map though, not to mention the music!
That lone zombie soldier is a pretty good gag, I gotta say.
I like Evilution's secret levels. They are a little more sane than The Plutonia Experiment's secret levels - Only two Cyberdemons!

Doing just fine, had some IRL stuff going on. Daily uploads are a thing if I'm familiar with the game I'm playing. Never really played TNT, so I gotta practice first.
Been playing Map 31 on ultra violence +, and can barely even get past the first part, then we got Decino here making it look easy. ;; I know + has some more monsters since its the multi player variation, but I doubt I could even handle regular UV fast anyways.
The Egyptian theme in map 31 is so cool! I wanted to say not all pyramids are super big but the more I looked at this pyramid the more I realized that there is no pyramid *_THAT_* small. I think it would have to be at least two or three times taller to be like those small pyramids.

Hm! MAP31 reminds me of the crypt / tomb levels of _Blood._ It has a very similar aesthetic to it, I feel.
Also, I think one of those slaughter maps you've played took sections from this…

When I played this level years ago I just used a cheat to give me the yellow key instead of downloading anything because I was paranoid about doing that.

Not exactly. Mostly it's less consistent with its difficulty curve.
They are more varied and fun. Plutonia levels are just plain evil.

I know TNT is generally refered to as the lesser of the two final room Wads, but I've always loved the stylistic aspect of the levels. They really did a lot with the stock assets (plus a few new ones) to make them feel unique
I feel tnt starts really strong but then turns a bit bland a same'ish later on xd tho some levels are gems

I think this guy may as well be the Bob Ross of first person shooters. I love the uncanny contrast between his calm voice and all the wild stuff that's happening on the screen. I find these videos extremely relaxing for some strange reason, and I frequently find myself falling asleep to them.
His calm delivery reminds me of chess streamer Eric Rosen.

I think you don't need a patch if you've bought Final Doom on GOG. The build by GOG is slightly different.

This wad was supposed to be free before the whole Final Doom deal between Team TNT and ID, people were mad it was paid at the time but Final Doom really did lead to a lot of other good stuff, like Plutonia, and the more obscure Perdition's Gate, so I think we got the best deal
PSA: you can use the tnt31.wad from doomworld if you want to acquire the yellow key in map 31. Just a heads up.

Pharaoh still is one of my favourite doom levels, I just love the Egyptian theme.
And big brain revenant at 13:20 cracked me up.
I remember first playing Pharaoh and being blown away by the Egyptian thing they got going. Many years later, I got to play Epic 2 which is like 75% Egyptian levels and was immediately reminded of Pharaoh.
I'm still reeling from the fact that you beat Dead Zone 100% kills. I've been trying that for years.

Have you ever played Deus Vult 2? These maps are sooo beautiful! Immense amount of work has gone in that. I'm not sure if they are fun without god mode, though :-P

I’m not sure if you’re aware Decino but there’s a bug on the unity port that’s not yellow key related. When grabbing the megasphere after killing the floating cyber there are supposed to be shotgun guys teleporting in. They will not teleport in. Even after firing shots. In the skull head switch room you can actually see a shotgun guy stuck on top of the wall. Weird bug.

After Decino got the 100% kills on Deadzone for the first time, the evil curse laid by the Casali brothers on the levels kicked into overdrive and started allowing the Revenants to unlock new tactics in a desperate attempt to maintain their legacy. That's the only explanation I've got for the inexplicably tactical revenant moments in Caribbean
they placed a zombieman here so we'd shoot him and wake up all the cacodemon. ahh so clever lol
I'm waiting for the playthrogh of map 27 of TNT, that map is incredibly difficult, and doing it with fast monsters, is just insane!!! , looking forward to it 👌👌👌👌

This map was created by Dario Casali. Unfortunately, when he was tagging items, he tagged the Yellow Key as a multiplayer item. You can finish the game like Decino showed. But you'll miss a bunch of kills and secrets. Luckily everyone complained about it and Dario Casali made map31.wad, which just tags the Yellow Key as a Single Player item. Take this map as a tale to check your item's are tagged properly.

The patch is necessary for 100%, but it's not actually because of the keycard. It's because those enemies behind the slit near the end that are supposed to teleport in were originally behind a solid wall, meaning you couldn't hit them at all if they failed to teleport in.
