The spot cut in the kayak paddle is so you can retrieve a snagged lure by hooking the line with the slot in the paddle, tracing the line down to the lure, then break it free. That's the idea anyway.
I have drifted down creeks and river hunting squirrels from a kayak many times before but now I am thinking about duck hunting from one too! Thanks for the video and tips!
I am planning on doing the same, floating and hunting squirrels and ducks, from my canoe (Sportspal 10'6") watching these videos to learn/ prep/ get psyched about it :) Where are you located Ray? I'm in Nebraska but am looking at MO and KS options as well..
I know the video is a few years old but I will say this- secure the shotgun to the boat. Somehow. Always. Throw a big locking carabiner around the sling and the strut, tie it off, something. Even in a super stable kayak accidents can happen and if it does, you don't want your shotgun worth thousands sliding into the drink.
Love the kayak video! Last season was my first time trying to hunt in one. Could you give us a video on how you brush up your kayak? Or ways you would suggest. Thanks!
Bad advise to wear waders. If you're in an area where it's deeper than your waders and you fall in, they will fill and you will never get back in your kayak. Take a tip from the ocean fishing guys and get a good 3mm farmer john wetsuit and some neoprene boots.
I usually toss my weights in the boat and drag the decoys behind for more freedom to move around and minimize water/ice in the yak. But to each his own. Just an idea 🤙🏽
you think I could get away with not purchasing a blind for my kayak I have an Old Town Vapor 12 in a nice camo pattern and the penny pincher in me doesn't want to buy or build a blind. wondering if you ever hunted out of yours without one?
you can make a blind with camo cloth and some native materials, some small bungie cord thru the cloth will help with the attachment, polyester is better than burlap for not adding water weight

neoprene waders with a nice tight belt are totally fine, just wear your pfd too. You'll float like a damn cork
Great video, keep up the kayak videos. Lovin’ em
I needed to see the tying of the knots. Thanks.
You can tell he’s getting duck depression. Me too, meeeee toooooo.
I can’t wait for duck season
Lots of great info. Looks like a good way to hunt.
Again another very helpful video! Thanks a bunch these help a ton
Make a video about traveling to your hunting spot in the dark. What are the rules and considerations...especially on big lakes?
I carry my helix 5 head unit with me for gps. Works great but I've also used my phone for general navigation
Great video, most of it seemed common sense but nice to see it in action before I try it.
Great video. Can you please make a video on what blind you have and are going to put in your kayak.
I already have made a couple. They were posted back in April
Nice video..I'm getting the same kayak next week. Just looking for the waders that you use..Let me know the model and when I can get them. Thanks.
Have you done a "side by side" comparison between this canoe and the topwater 120?

Load vs. Drag he explains why he does that in another video.
Randy Marshall I’m talking about when picking up decoys... not hauling em to and from
Great tips! Thanks for the vid.
Isn’t that more of a canoe than it is a kayak?
Great video thanks for the tips
Is nobody gonna talk about the dude just staring at him lmao
Pretty sure you lost a weight on one of ur decoys. Was one of ur Drake's.

Love the video, but that’s a canoe lol or at least more of a canoe than a kayak
It’s a hybrid between both
Tether gun to yak. You don’t want to loose it.

It’s a canoe you Doefuss 🤣🤣🤣
Isn't that a canoe?
