Keighley & Worth Valley Railway - The Steam gala 2024 - 23/03/24 - 4K

This weekend was the annual steam gala for The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway up in the heart of West Yorkshire, following on from the railway’s fantastical 2023 steam gala.
It was to be an action packed 3 days for me travelling up on the Thursday and returning home late Saturday evening after a busy few days.
The railway was to have 9 steam locomotives in operation spread along the 4 day event with intensive timetable diagrams and freight demonstrations and also special double headed trains too.

I’d never been to this railway so wasn’t sure what to expect, with the line only being 4.5 miles in length it is quite short, the size didn’t matter as it was quickly figured out the locos do work hard on the runs up to Oxenhope where the services terminate.
It was a great highlight to see so many different combinations in double headers too with some unusual pairings being thrown in. I decided on the final day to ride the railway as well as grab a few extra bonus shots which in turn came out magnificently.
Finding locations and seeing engines working hard over the 1 in 60 ‘Keighley Bank’ was an impressive soundtrack for sure.
I will most definitely be returning for their next event!
