  • I make it no secret that I hate Reese and Sons version of Springfield armory. Be it their political donations to anti gunners or importing guns and pretending they’re American made. So I picked this XD-45 up slightly used and decided to torture test it. Round one coming up!

    I'm a Springfield fan, and I loved this video. Truthfully, I have a first generation G17 that has performed flawlessly for over 30 years but my XD's have been just as reliable. I haven't tried the "barn dust" challenge with them, but I hope that gun testers everywhere include it with their future reviews.

      Being honest, most guns will fail miserably when debris gets in them. And I’ve had more glocks fail my nonsensical “tests” but that’s because I’ve tried so many more of them. But with that said I think lining every pistol I have up on a table, covering them in the barn dust and water sounds like a fun video.

    I have an XD I don’t see the problem with them being made in Croatia. That’s a few countries away from Austria lol basically the same shit. They don’t advertise as American made and make no effort to hide the fact so I really see the issue. I also have a Glock but my XD has never malfunctioned on me

    • @thewatchorn
      @thewatchorn  Рік тому

      I’m guessing you weren’t around when Springfield launched the XD in 2002 because they very much tried to promote them as American made.
      As far as you claim “My XD has never malfunctioned on me”, if you’ve never had a malfunction you don’t shoot enough and it doesn’t negate the thousands of people that have had catastrophic failures from XDs. No gun is perfect, they can all fail but WHY ARE XD OWNERS LIKE THIS?

    • @machete18
      @machete18 Рік тому +1

      @@thewatchorn lol what? I hear Glock owners say their Glock has never malfunctioned on them literally all the time. I hear it about glocks more often than I don’t hear it. You’re just a Glock fanboy, it’s okay. Sorry I don’t spend every dime and hour I have shooting, I have other shit to do so no I’m not at the range every other day. That doesn’t matter, my XD has had a shitload of rounds put thru it without it ever malfunctioning. I carry my Glock 43 because it’s lighter and smaller but I carried my xd before that and trusted it 100%. Sounds like you’re just a hater.
      And yes in 2002 I was 11 years old. That was literally over 20 years ago 😂 That was then this is now. I think most people know XDs are made in Croatia, it does say it right on the gun after all.
      WHY ARE ALL GLOCK DICK RIDERS LIKE THIS??

    I'm told my XD45 is the first one Springfield sold in the state of Nevada. My father-in-law special ordered it before they were even on the market, through the Reno PD and had to get a waiver to carry it as his duty pistol. He retired with it, then gave it to me and bought a new one (because he wanted night sights - yeah, he could have just bought aftermarket night sights, but he wanted me to have it).
    Anyway, it's 100 percent reliable with all factory ammo. It was picky with my reloads, which run fine in my 1911s. So, I bought a Lee Factory Crimp die and ran my reloads through it and it ran fine. I reckon the chamber is just a wee bit tighter than the 1911s are, which is why the reloads weren't working.

    Glock is the only polymer pistol that has its own term called glock swell or glock smile. There is a plethora of videos explaining the phenomena. Also the polygonal barrel has trouble with lead cast bullets leaving lead residue in the corners eventually creating an obstruction. Also, the guide rod is made out of plastic. Also the sights are plastic. Also there are several other internal parts made out of plastic. Glock has a reputation to sometimes blow up in your hand which is a worst scenario than a bullet that does not feed into the chamber. If your hand is blown up from your glock then you cannot hold your gun and a bear will have a good starting point to eat you. Glock still makes guns in Austria so not all glocks are made in Georgia but even though they do make some in Georgia, their money eventually goes home to Austria. If you are going to be an American then go all the way and get a Smith and Wesson or a Sig Sauer. Now i do not pretend to be a person who knows a lot about guns. In fact im an ameture. But as a newbie researching which pistol i want to buy l can tell you that glock is last on my list because of all of the videos explaining the weaknesses of the gun. I would like to see you do this same exact test with your glock. I will add that if i found glock to be the best gun after my research then i would gladly put it on top of my list because i want the best gun. I have no bias towards any gun company. But for me, glock is in last place. Thanks for your video. It was fun.

    I don't think Springfield is really fooling anyone, nor do they really advertise American made so I don't see an issue with them. That being said Croatia has a long history of producing amazing firearms. Now them donating is likely do to benefit their own interest in the market, much like how its in ammo manufacturers interest to keep demand high and supply low who are most likely complicit in keeping things the way they are. No sense in boycotting shit like a liberal, if people were that interested in not supporting companies with anti-gun donations there is a massive list of businesses I have for you. Those jeans that could be Levi's is certainly one

      I don’t mind imported firearms, I have several. My issue is with the deceptive nature of the modern Springfield armory Inc. Post people don’t know that Springfield Armory went out of business in 1968, a shitty gun company (L. H. Gun co) bought the name in 1974 to capitalize on name recognition, then proceeded to start importing guns from cheap manufacturers all over the world and stamp their name on them. Now, there’s nothing wrong with that if you’re honest about it. But Springfield armory Inc has always downplayed, ignored and even hid that from people dating from the late 90’s up to the HEX optics. I have the same issue with vortex from when they launched their scopes. There were salesmen coming to matches pitching their scopes as American made while they were buying everything from China for pennies on the dollar, they still do but people know about it now.
      Sorry for the long winded rant, I get a little riled up over deceptive companies I used to be a fan of.

      @@dgage1776 that’s not even remotely accurate. Over 70% of Leo’s in America carry Glock 17, 19, 22 or 23 with Glock 19 being the most popular. Followed up by Sig p320, Sig 226, Beretta 92 and there are still more departments issuing Colt 1911’s than issuing XDs.
