Clear and concise instructions to tie a simple, incredibly strong knot, capable of passing through the smaller eyes. Thank you Mark, much appreciated.

This addresses my concerns of casting a large knot through guides. Probably one of the smallest I’ve seen. Thank you

Great knot! Been using it with 11 lb to 30 lb shock leader and it's worked flawlessly dozens of trips so far. It was so simple that I was skeptical at first. I do use a drop of glue on the knot. Haven't tried without.

(using a 12lb mono and 30lb shock leader) tried like 3 other knots and they all snapped at one point, yours holds strong! thx!

*I bought these and used them at the river where I get snags often they have done a **enjoyable.fishing** recommend great job of not breaking along with some strong line I purchased as well. They are super durable and easy to use.*

if this knot does not have an official name, I'm just going to call it the Welshman's Knot.

Ends up quite a thick knot, can imagine when a lot of weed drigting through the water, a lot is going to bunch up around this knot?

  • @rwright59

I would tend to lubricate with saliva before tightening up. Friction on the mono will weaken the line

in your opinion which would be the best knot to use braid to braid the double uni knot vs the blood knot which one would you choose

I don't use braid, so I'm not the right person to advise you. I'm sure others on UA-cam can answer your question.

Do you think this knot is stronger than the spider hitch knot?

    • @markroberts3222

Sorry, but I have no experience with the spider hitch.

Can this be tied with braid? Nice knot I am going to give it a try for my shock leaders in mono, looks neater than the traditional alright.

@@markroberts3222 thanks Mark, I have started using this knot with my surf casting outfits and am hooked, don't care about braid, don't use it was just curious. I like the fact this knot is compact and simple yet strong.

Might have to try this one out. The FG knot does not hold for surf casting. Its mind boggling as it holds for every other application.

    • @kf8575
      @kf8575 3 роки тому +1

You might not be tying it correctly then, as an FG knot is just as strong as the line used to tie it

It has no name I know of. However, the double wrap of the shock leader is a short version of the Bristol knot.
