It's amazing how clean he keeps his aquariums. I can't handle bare bottoms, I feed too much and it bugs the crap out of me to see all the poop and left over food. He is the clean master lol. I'd love to see the GBR breeding.
Bare bottoms are lit, way way easier to clean & if you have food on the bottom of the tank, that means you're over feeding your fish. Feed them just enough that they finish all of it but doesn't starve them till their next meal.
luis arias I feed my fry a lot for growth. Not really overfeeding. It's easier for me to clean the substrate tanks than bare bottom, not to suck up tiny rainbowfish fry. I understand a lot of people love bare bottom, it's just not for me. Plus I love plants and don't like plants in pots in my aquariums.
Nick K i mean you dont need to keep them in a potd, you can tie them on something & the roots will become like a hid for your fish to feel safe & how dirty does your tank get again? & how often do you clean it ? What kind of filter do you have ?

I love these detailed run throughs of fishrooms. Its so fascinating to see how people run their systems. I'm always looking to improve the efficiency of my fishroom. Sometimes I think I might enjoy how things operate and building it, more then the fish themselves.

There are some very large blue rams for sale at my local lfs! 7 inches, maybe....Dean, you interested? Cory "wants a fish room this big and looks this good". Dean "No, bigger." Well,clearly Dean won that, when we consider the ballroom fish room under construction.
Dean's wooden rack reminds me of the stores racks. These tanks are obviously larger than the store, they look like 40s. Are the 40s too long to use the "no underneath support"style of rack?
I'd like to see this cleaning methods/feeding fry. My bare bottom tanks while necessary, always look messy. I really appreciate learning from someone like this who knows their stuff!
Frozen blood worms 1 to 2 times a week along with tetra color flakes and tuba flex 1 time a week. But main food is the flakes. I have 2 turquoise rainbows and 4 angle fish 4 skirt tetras. A pictus cat fish and avery personable reg pleco. He eats out of my hand so do my angles when feeding worms.
Many years ago (about 40) I owned a petshop for a few years and we use to import from Singapore...., one year the wholesaler said they had "Greenish Panther Angels"..., I had never heard of them.., but these were big so I ordered 20..., wish I had ordered 500. I sold all 20 in one weekend..., but everybody said the same thing...., these fish were mean. Panther by name and nature.., but they were gorgeous. Ha
I would love to understand that drain refill system more. I couldn't understand where his outlets and inlets were? It appeared he had a matten filter in the tank that showed up close, but I couldn't make it out where the drain tubing was??

Ive bread over 15 spieces of tropical fish in my life time and by far the angel fish was the most enjoyable.
