It's from the developers of Two Worlds. They were working on this and a horror RPG. This one got released but the reception was so negative that they took it down and later re-released it as Vendetta with some major fixes.

So, this Mark Strohman, who voices not Jack Sparrow (Holy shit, they didn't even try lol), sounds like Kevin Conroy, which is a positive!
The first thing I thought when I heard his voice was "Why does this pirate sound like Bruce Wayne?"
At some points it's legit scary how much he sounds like Kevin Conroy
claiming ac4 was good in any sense is just wrong, Boring boat missions, stiff overused parkour, no combat innovation, And most importantly, without desmond the modern day stuff got ruined, unity did innovate alot and is great, The new rpg style is also ok and fun but not very AC,

@@MattMcMuscles Sound engineer, you can check the credits. I worked on the soundclips with the actors for the german Version. I also worked a bit on the english soundclips. I did cut the clips, polished them up and sent them to the programmers.

This game is so sad. It was announced in 2011 by magazines, having it's first trailer in 2013 and ment to be like Witcher 2 but Pirates but it's budget and development time was slashed inhalf, forcing it to released to an rushed and crunched schedule due to the publisher's scummy shit, making it barley playtested and polished. The game is literally a released dev build. If they had a year or 2 to develop more, it could have been more better.
The reason it was pulled from stores is because the company behind it felt horrible about their product and closed it's doors, but the publisher still wanted it out there and rebranded it since they held the rights to cash in.
Wtf is that Batman as a pirate? Voice is spot on.
Matt, Pirates did take time off...they just went on land for a while when the ship departed again. The whole point of the golden age of piracy was that they had places they could stay between the sailing.
But yeah this game blows.
There's a "deluxe edition" of this game you can buy right now on Steam for $12.95 USD. I don't know what that means by "deluxe edition".
It means that they fleeced you for $11.95.
I really hope that someday we will see "What Happened?" episode about this game!
From what I've heard, this game was started by Octane Games (who had only one game in their portfolio called Wasteland Angel) and finished by Reality Pump (known mostly for the EARTH and Two Worlds series), so it probably should have some crazy production story.
If there was a hall of fame for good/bad janky games Ravens Cry would be one of the first inductees. It plays well enough that you can really enjoy how broken it is while laughing at the cut scenes, voice over, etc.

Based on this and similar comments I wasn't the only one who thought he sounded like Conroy.
USELESS FACT: There was line of Batman toys in the 90's called "Legends of Batman" that was Batman across different time periods, and one of them was "Buccaneer Batman" (along with matching pirate themed Robin and Joker).
Dude, legends of Batman was amazing! I had a few of those growing up and I only wish I had more

If you're interested in playing more of this game I would actually recommend trying to get your hands on the original version that's just called "Ravens Cry". I've seen a full playthrough of that version and there's some stuff in there that has to be seen to be believed. I don't know how much they changed in Vendetta but this is definitely the type of game where you want to play the worst possible version. Right away I can tell they've replaced a lot of the voice actors and that frightens me because some of the original voice acting is legitemately some of the worst I've ever heard. Far as I can tell the devs (based in Germany) just got random people off the street to voice some of the characters, so you have people who obviously barely speak english/don't speak english attempting a wide range of Caribbean accents. Imagine Tommy Wiseau trying to do british and spanish accents and you're in the general ballpark. The original version also has a bunch of missing voice files, some of which seem to play and not play at random, including a fairly major character who only has a single voiced line in the entire game. I don't know if it's even possible to get the original game anymore but I would highly recommend trying if you're interested. By the way, this game actually was made by the developers of Two Worlds.

I remember Nitro Games seeking beta testers for their 2009 game East India Company at our local school when they showed us some very early footage of their highly ambitious upcoming big 7th gen third person pirate action game. (I live in same city as the studio)
It was very weird to discover THIS was the game they showed to us like 6 full years before it's final release but had to give away for Reality Pump to finish for some reason.

What cracks me up about this game is people hated it when it was released as Raven’s Cry, so the company said “okay, we’ll fix a bunch of stuff and rerelease it in 10 months” and everyone still hated it. Supposedly it got pulled from Steam due to fake positive reviews, but I don’t think that was ever confirmed.
The Wha Happun for this game is the one I've quietly been waiting for since I discovered this channel. Considering the difference between what was previewed, and what actually released... Can't wait!
The music in the background for most of the conversation with Donovan isn't a sea shantie it's traditional Irish song.

I'm still waiting for someone to complete this game so I can watch the disaster unfold. I've seen so many youtubers play through the beginning, but no one gets much further than that. At this point I'm not positive that this game can b completed anymore.
