  • Dry Cutting is the best cut Ive ever had for my curly hair & YESSSS my hair is even when stretched! its hard to explain but you kinda just have to experience the process in order to understand exactly how and why it turns out even without stretching the hair or wetting or straightening (which is healthier for you hair anyway) Hope you found this video helpful! =)
    I dont trim my hair often since I am a "Heatless Curly Girl" I dont need an all over trim more than once or twice a year because my hair is pretty healthy no split ends & no heat damage... but I do trim my bangs to shape my face and add volume often because it grows out quickly. There isn't a precise time to trim hair, I just go by how it looks at the moment.

    So I just cut my bangs and did a little face framing and I'm absolutely IN LOVE with the results ! For the longest I have been think my hair doesn't catch volume at the top and suffered from severe 'triangle hair' lol. This is because no one really knows how to cut curly hair so impulsively I decided to do it and am very happy . Please do I video where you cut/trim the rest of your hair !!

    Just wanted to tell you how important you were to me in my hair journey. I've been straightening my hair for 8 years (I'm 17 now) and you were the initial spark that made me do the decision to embrace my natural curly hair. For the first time in my life I know that my hair is not ugly like people used to say and I finally feel good with myself. Thank you so much!

    ive always loved curly hair more than straighening even before the damage. Ive just developed a mind of my own (out of the dominican mentality) and ive learned to do what I feel comfortable with instead of doing what others expect me to do cuz they think its more "Propper" lol with that ive now changed my moms values and mentality towards what she thinks looks good. she stoped using the term "Good hair and Bad Hair" finally and now accepts that straight hair isnt better. its just a choice.

    yep I have. sadly even from my own family since allot of my cousins, aunts & uncles have straight or wavy hair and are light skin but im not.... it turns out that when I began to embrace my Hair & Skin I became happy about it so I showed it off with no shame just proud of who I am... after that is when others started to compliment me and say that they wished they had curly hair too or tanned golden skin etc... once u accept your self others will also see your beauty as well =)

    I follow this Deva cut method for awhile now. It's easy and now I'm trimming my whole head this way. It is hard to get the same shape up cut and look for whole head that one gets from a professional but for trimming its PERFECT! Anyone can do it.

    omgosh my hair is just as curly if not more as yours and a couple of days ago I decided I was just gonna chop it off it was quite long but it was starting to thin out (and falling way to much) so I went to a regular salon and the girl just starts cutting my hair dry!! she said that was the right way to do it any who I loved loved loved the results now I know she was right and knew exactly what she was doing. THANKS FOR THE VID!

    Great video! I've been trimming my own hair for nearly 7 years, and I've used two methods together to trim my entire head. First, I put my hair into twists and I lightly "dust the ends" by trimming the smallest amount needed (or more depending on how my ends are looking). If I don't do this method, I will do what's called the "seek and destroy", where I only trim off severely spilt ends and knots. Trimming your hair in twists helps to make sure you're not trimming more than you want.

    Dude. I am so happy I came across this video. Not yet, but soon my hair will be long enough where I will have to start trimming my bangs, since I do want to keep bangs as my hair lengthens, and I was SO worried about it since I had only ever cut my hair when it was straight. No more straight-cutting! Now I will dry-curly cut. Thanks!

  • @Mrs.AlbaRamos
    @Mrs.AlbaRamos  11 років тому

    theres also a reason why curly hair salons specialized in dry cutting rather than wet cutting. trimming your hair in general removes split ends. its not the fact that the hair is wet when cut that removes split ends. Ive done both methods in the past and Ive experienced dry cutting is the best for my hair. I have not had 1 split end since 2011 when i use to straighten and cut my hair wet. theres no right or wrong, wet or dry its all about the hair type and what works for you. Im living proof.

  • @Mrs.AlbaRamos
    @Mrs.AlbaRamos  11 років тому

    no i cut them entirely myself but not all at once in this style. i started with my bangs the way they looked in my video "New Curly Hair Routine" and then after a while trimmed a bit more and more as you can see in my video "Pretty purple spring look"

  • @Mrs.AlbaRamos
    @Mrs.AlbaRamos  11 років тому +1

    the first time i didnt cut this much so i didnt have to section off i just split my hair to the side like i normally style it and only trimmed the hairs that were towards my face. after a while i trimmed more to look like real bangs but without sectioning off with a comb i just eyed it with my fingers. whatever felt right.

  • @Mrs.AlbaRamos
    @Mrs.AlbaRamos  11 років тому

    yes allot of people have this problem. its because usually bangs are the most heated parts of your hair when straightening and styling it straight so usually for most people its the most severe heat damage. I have a video for heat damaged hair the same tips in that video are also applied to your bangs. Stop heat, and trim gradually as it strats to grow out and after a few months youll see new growth coming in curly. watch my "Got Heat Damage?!?!! get rid of it now" video =)

      I use coconut oil on my hair, after i get out of the shower I just rub some between my palms and smooth it through my hair. You have to experiement a bit - too little won't help, too much and your hair will be weighed down and greasy.

    • @catherinechandler4123

      and that's just regular coconut oil that comes in a jar - not any product that just contains coconut oil

    Thanks for this video, I already know how to cut bangs but I saw that your hair was styled with a split that ain't in the middle but off center. My hair always looked dumb with it split in the center with bangs and I had no idea how to make it look good. I don't know how I never thought of just spliting it off center but once I saw how good it looked with you, I did it straight away and I'm so freaking happy with it! Thank you so much for having your hair like that for my dumbass to see and do :)

    oh no! I know u werent offending me lol I did not take any offense or think u were offending me at all. its hard to explain in detail when typing and making it sound polite at the same time but basically my response is what i said in my "Got heat damage?" video. like I said in that video do what makes u happy just because im happy with curly hair doesnt mean everyone else should be too. its ok to straighten use heat etc... do what u feel is best for you.

    my hair is the same. its actually mid back and boob length in the front but i dont worry much about it as long as my curls look nice and healthy it doesnt matter cuz with time I know itll grow and before you know it itll be waist length but look like its boob length while curly lol just try using different products or maybe something a bit of a thicker consistency on the tips of ur hair to add weight and lengthen

    Thanks for your reply. Let me clear that i was not trying to offend you with my question. Some people apparently took my comment the wrong way for no reason. I simply asked you out of curiosity because my hair is also naturally curly but i prefer to wear it straight or wavy, that's just my personal preference,everyone is different.Your hair is gorgeous. Also, I've never believed that "good hair & bad hair" thing, i always correct my grandma when she says that.

    I just air dry thats all :) but a diffuser is fine too i just dont own a blow dryer anymore... If I would diffuse id stick with a blow dryer that has a cold setting instead of hot air to prevent frizz dryness and damage. cold air will not add frizz or damage or dry out hair at all
