i’ve always been natural but it was only after religiously following your ‘how to style’ video 2 years ago that my confidence in my hair really started to shine. you introduced me to the fro life, thank you so much! i’ve been so fed up with my hair recently, it just hasn’t been giving and i now realize it’s because i haven’t been regularly trimming or shaping with a pick. i’ve been relying so much on my bangs at the very front to keep the hair cohesive, overstyling them until now they’re really damaged. i should’ve been picking them forward from the back for volume instead. now i know what i gotta do lol

This came at a perfect time, with the Pandemic I decided to cut my own hair but hadn't been able to find a tutorial that made sense until now. Growing up in a country with very contrasting beauty standards, ive experienced alot of bullying in school, with the people at the beauty salons always asking me to straighten my hair chemically and also some people were so unaware about curly hair, they'd simply ask me to "just comb it". For the past few years ive been trying to embrace my natural hair. No one here knows how to deal with curly cuts. So ive always been cutting my own hair even after they cut it for me and charge me so much money. This video helped me be free with the pair of scissors and show off my hair the way i want to show it. My hair is my everything, and only i know how to care for it and understand what it needs. I finally understand the best way to cut my type 4 hair. I’ve tried different methods and this one works best and makes the most sense. I trimmed my hair today curl by curl and it was fun and easy and stress free. I had an old twist out and since I use flaxseed gel on my hair my curls were super defined and clumped very well to where I could easily cut it curl by curl. Thank you so much!!
I really need to start cutting my hair like this. I typically blow dry it then cut or put it in twist and trim it which I know isn’t right but I’m just so lazy. Thank you for the video and the inspiration not to be lazy and do it correctly 💕

This is the best curly cut at home video I've seen. I made an appointment at a well known naturally curly place and they wanted $175 deposit. I'm coming from two states away and I wanted to treat myself. However, when I found out about that deposit... I canceled. I can't afford that. 🤦🏽♀️ So thank you for this wonderful and informative video. I will be taking your advice as I really loved that you said to cut on three day hair and by curl by curl. Yes, thanks so much, your curls are inspiring! A Deva cut cost about 180 bucks plus a consult where I am at and I just can't afford that right now! So I'm going to try this soon and just keep practicing! 💕 So update! I cut my hair!! I had so many damaged and split ends but b for my first time it turned out alright. I'll keep cutting my ends and just be patient about getting my length back. I do have a question though, how often do you wear your curly hair out? This pandemic got me doing a lot more protective styles!

I love it! Thats exactly what i want but I was never sure from which point of my head i should let the hair fall to the front as banks. You said from the middle of the head. THX. Will try that. I am 41 and live in Berlin and unfortunately don't have a hairdresser I can trust. Recently I went for cutting my split ends and the loss was the amount of what you have shown in the video. 85 Euro (92 $)!!!!!. And it did nothing to the overall look. Now i will try it myself and will come back and tell about the results. Wish my success!

Gilayah McIntosh I shape mine in a normal hair day! So with product and about 2/3 days in. A good (but average) hair day
