My daughter ( now 43) was originally diagnosed with bipolar disorder 20 years ago. She recently was diagnosed with ADHD. It has changed her life! It has been such a very, very difficult road to get here, but she’s now so much happier. Her meds are correct and she is building her life again. Correct diagnosis is imperative!
That is exactly what I found with my 76 yr old mother. Thought she was bipolar but I have ADHD and realized she just has ADHD to the 10th degree compared to me!
They tried to diagnose me with bi polar. Told me I was “sliding” into it. I refused all medication. I have ADHD and level 1 Autism. Very relieved I fought that diagnosis but they made me think I had problems that were going to plummet me into a harrowing life. Got diagnosed ADHD during my daughter’s evaluation at 38 years old found out I also am also Autistic Level 1) at 60. Now I know my brains roadmap and the real why. I am doing great. It all makes sense now. Look until you are satisfied that the diagnosis fits. It just gave me the information and the tools to know my deficiencies and strengths. And I’m a bit nicer to myself when I feel burnout I now know how to constructively move myself forward.

Did they ask about BiPolar or Borderline Personality Disorder? And yeah I was diagnosed bipolar when i turned 20, already diagnosed adhd. All medication weve tried doesnt work and either sends me over the edge or makes me so tired i cant move. I found my old prescription of adderall the other week and started taking it once a day and I feel like Im back to my old self. The old self that I knew like back in high school before i was diagnosed with this crap. I pray i was misdiagnosed because Bipolar is just not great like most of the time
Ask for full endocrine and vitamin blood tests. Look at your results in paper form, and do research on previous ranges used, and what endocrine glands can have an effect on disorders. Ask both sides of your parents families if there’s any diseases.

I can't talk to my doctors about this because they don't listen, they think you just want pills. I just want to feel normal. 😞

Bipolar adhd autism can all be associated with thyroid disease or they can be mistaken for thyroid disease.
