I used this book for two of my kids when they were in preschool. One thing I want to mention about Masterbooks is that it starts out gentle but I would say as you enter the higher levels 2nd and up it’s honestly the same scope and sequence as all the other Christian curriculum.

I agree they do pick up the pace in the higher grades compared to what they have for kindergarteners.

This looks great. My daughter already knows her numbers but I'll just be using this as more of an introduction to just doing workbooks (which we don't really use). Will probably pick up the grade 1 for the second half of Kindergarten and then we will move into Beauty and Truth math.

@@non-gmo that sounds like a great plan! I’ve never heard of of beauty and truth math. I’ll have to look that one up!

You should have taken an assessment. Most curriculum we found in the early levels is pretty easy. We do have to level up. With Masterbooks, it's good to stay at level grade and let your child build their confidence up in their learning. Especially if it's your first time using their curriculum. Always switching curriculum leaves gaps in your child's education. When you get to the higher levels with MB it gets more challenging. Also, they have Practice Makes Perfect, which is review and parents sometimes kip. Level K is more like preschool. I get that, but some children need a gentle and easy approach especially if the child has never been exposed to MB or other curriculum. See we know how hard it is to homeschool a child that thinks what they are learning is challenging. You don't want that to start happening in the elementary grades. Doing a lot of work so young doesn't leave a whole bunch of room to grow a love for education. Read the stories before the actual work (if you don't) to make it exciting. You should revisit MB. Use curriculum to its full potential before making a review or change. They have things set up a certain way for a reason. People just do things their own way. That could be why they don't get the results they are looking for in a curriculum. Look at the MB's UA-cam channel, listen to their Spotify podcast, join their forum on Google Play/Apple Store, and follow them on all social media platforms. It will have you enlightened. That's what we do before we get any curriculum. We choose curriculum that puts the student first. We aren't in a hurry for our children to learn at the level of others in the world and not retain any information. They have only a short time as small children and a whole lifetime to be adults.

I have used Master Books for the last two years with one of my other children. That was a huge driving force behind why I chose it for my kinder aged child. I did mention the assessment in the video. This video was not to bring down Master Books. I love them and love their strong biblical foundation that they set across their curriculum but there isn’t a point to using something that my daughter is too advanced for and will get bored with. It really depends on the child and where they are at in regards to what they should stick with. Some children need a very gentle approach while others need something that slightly challenges them so they don’t get bored. Thank you for your thoughts on Master Books and offering your insight ❤️

I did the same thing. My son was doing the Level K math but got bored with it. I purchased the Level 1 and we are now starting the addition concepts. I was even getting bored with the shapes and numbers to 10. We are ready for the actual math! You can always resell the book too. She will like the Level 1!

I’m so glad to hear! Yeah, 36 weeks of 1-10 sounds very very long 😂

Another well done book flipped through Shauna 💜 I do really like these books! I said before we already have a math curriculum we’re happy with, but Always good to see other great options out there! 😀

I've done that--bought a curriculum and then realized it was a level too low and had to return it. Haha! Lesson learned! Always take the assessment! 😅😆💕💕
