I was worried for Cody because he did SUCH a good job as the sarcastic brooding Cloud from the remake. I wasn’t sure how he’d fare as a younger, sweeter Cloud, but of course, he’s amazing! He’ll always be my favorite Cloud
I was surprised that it's the same voice actor, he does such a good job at showing that Cloud was a different person than what we know of in FF7
He certainly nailed the scream, that's for certain.

Zach was Cloud's hero, but I think Zach only got as far as he did because he had Cloud. He needed him as much as Cloud needed him.
I think that was the lesson Angeal tried to past on to him. At first Zack wanted to be a hero for the glory and fame. I believe it wasn't until Zack met Cloud and took a shine to him like Angeal did for him that he realized what it meant to be a hero. Self sacrifice and putting the good of others before you. It's a beautiful friendship and this story perfectly showes why Cloud is so indebted to Zack the man who literally gave his life for him.

@@haysnairte4 it's actually when cloud fell off a cliff with tifa when they were kids in the original game where he only scraped his knees while tifa was in coma for a week that's where his desire start to be strong and join the soldiers

It’s how I felt too. Even though CCReunion was my first time playing CC and I still knew about Zack dying, I still cried regardless

I liked Zack as he was such a true and loyal friend but I adore Cloud - he'll always be my hero. Such a beautiful boy and voiced perfectly by Cody Christian in this game and the fantastic FFVII Remake!

I feel so sad watching Zack he wants cloud to get better from the mako poisoning and he looks so sad and lonely when talking with cloud who can’t reply and it’s super sad that cloud finally got his strength back only see his friend die right in front of him ;;; but zack is a great friend he could have easily left Cloud behind several times but he chose to take him with him

There is one part of the Remake I wish they did do differently, and it's giving the Zack & Cloud relationship some more depth. I recall they said in the original they had to cut it due to disc space, but there is no such excuse here...

I never actually noticed how initially kinda ooff-putting the scene is. Like, if Genesis didn't say anything, I think Zack would have lost it.

Tifa travelling to Midgar might be SOLDIERs' doing, evacuating all the people into Midgar. But Tifa joining AVALANCHE immediately is what I don't get.

he does, so much so that he really struggles after this point. he blamed himself for not being strong enough, which is why when his mind was juggled up, he assumed the most powerful person he knew which was zack.

See I’m conflicted with this games voice acting. On one hand, Zack’s VA in remake and inter grade is actually pretty good but in this game his voice seems really weird. I wanna say it’s a voice direction thing but then I see all of clouds scenes and he’s mostly doing good aside from like one scene and I doubt they switch voice directors for actors. It’s just a really weird thing when it comes to voice acting
I concur. Although to be honest, I feel like Crisis Core's dialogue is already a little rough around the edges. I can see how the new Zack VA would struggle with some of the lines. Same with Angeal and Genesis. Those three characters have some very over-the-top and larger-than-life expressions to work with. Cloud on the other hand...sounds like a normal guy. Cause he kind of is, compared to these other dudes that hes hanging out with.

I kinda feel like he benefits when Zack talks more. Whenever he has to do a one word response or shorter response it sounds a bit off.
I feel like the new Zack VA is a hit or miss. There are some lines that he actually sounds good ngl but there are also some lines that he sounds bad.

I wish Square redid the CGI cutscenes. I know that probably would’ve been really expensive (even though they redid everything else), but it’s kinda distracting going from Cloud and Sephiroth’s Remake designs in the in-engine scenes to their slimmer, softer looks from the days of the Compilation.
I wanted the cutscenes to be on par with final fantasy 7 remake
What’s even weirder is that they went back through the CGI just to update the Buster Sword. Like, why not just replace the CGI at that point?

@@Twocoolman115because rotoscoping the new buster sword only requires rendering one object, rather than an entire scene full of characters that, let's be honest, are very outdated by now. They probably couldn't even re-render the entire scene anymore.
@@zoomie7 another thing to note: the Shinra infantry is still in their OG outfits in the cutscenes, but the new Remake gear in the game footage. It’s kinda jarring, really.

cody really brought up the squishy baby that cloud was i can't. i will always love steve but cody has done a great job, i don't mind him at all. i've grown to love all the new voice actors. can't say the same about caleb though unfortunately..
i wasn't sure about caleb either but after hearing his lines in ff7r his voice kinda grew on me, so i have hope that his performance won't disappoint. i guess we'll have to wait and see

Genesis is about to kill Hollander but Zack arrives just in time to stop him. Hollander tries to escape but Cloud grabs him. He shakes cloud off and runs away, and Zack tells cloud to run after Hollander while he fights Genesis. Then after the Genesis boss fight, you get the scene at 5:34

The way Genesis recites Loveless sounds so weird compared to the original. It feels like there's no meaning behind them but in the original it feels more like you can understand the story behind them. It was the reason why I was hooked to it.

The Og game ff7 Zack received a new materia from a shinra research lab the buster sword was pre emptive strike materia that raise the chance to backstab, It help Cloud who is weaker to stab Sephiroth in the back.

Ya know with how far we’ve gotten in the future of technology and shit, I’m gonna be honest I was expecting they’d be able to make the game look like the og cutscenes. It’s just weird that not only the models look nothing alike, but the og cutscenes here are a clear improvement over the actual visuals of the game… I get they’re like… movie quality pre-rendered and shit but it’s just like… we didn’t really get that close and damn… Cloud and especially Zack look like two totally different people in the cutscenes than they do in their in game models. So weird. Either should’ve made all new cutscenes or made models that actually looked like the characters in the recycled cutscenes…. Just weird

Sephiroth wasn't evil to begin with, shinra used Genova to create sephiroth after countless failed experiments on different monsters but project S succeeded in giving birth to sephiroth which technically made him perfect monster which was believable for him because he always thought why he was so different, how Angeal and genesis were degrading tipped him off even more about how inhumane Genova's experiments were. Genova used planets energy for herself essentially degrading the planet. But what shinra did technically made them the same as they were using her to extract power from the planet while using sephiroth to fight for shinra for the benefit of themselves which made sephiroth hate humanity, as sephiroth was mentally broken he developed god complex begining to think that he should be the ruler of the planet as Genova would have taken over the planet if not for shinra. ( I find his reasoning messed up like to rule the planet etc, but I get where he was coming from since anyone would have a mental breakdown after all that.

The tragic life of Cloud. Zack was his very first friend, the first one who took care of him, and yet he lost him, that moment broke Cloud. He aint made friends all his life, and Tifa didn't made Cloud one of hers. For worst, Sephiroth burned their village and killed him once. Now, he didn't had nothing left to lose... UNTIL we met Aerith.
