You're one of my favourite gear reviewers here. Your vid about the Nux atlantic was one of my final aspects tu get that one, and man: I made my playing just fly 😇 Now looking for a versatile Wah, the friedman surely is on my radar. Thanx for your informative content and delicate playing! Cheers!
What a fucking excellent demo! More margarita based demos!! That strat looks sexy as hell!!! And also congrats on having the world's most desirable signature!!
Very very nice… I had a Original Hammond ( whatever organ company originally designed the wah) I had one of those, and I regret selling it greatly, it was very special even for the ones still labeled with the organ company because it had a special inductor
Okay, we need some more margarita fueled video's in the future! That song was killer intesified Mr. Pete! Now I need to sell my Bad Horsie 2 and get this bad boy 72'. Friedman makes some superb stuff, that is for sure! Best review as always!
The 70's shades... rocked 'em - tick. Intense shred - tick Funkin' grooves - tick Creative, album worthy composition - tick Killer sounding demo, showing ace new pedal we really need (maybe just really want) - tick Thank you Pete. Margarita's rock too 😇🍸
I love wah, but I've never seen a video for a wah pedal that made me think: oh dear Lord I need that. The fact that I have just been thinking about picking up a new buffer may seal the deal here. Thanks for the awesome video, as well as the awesome playing, as usual!
GREAT demo Pete, you should have a cocktail more often when you’re making a video. I don’t care for most wahs but I’m going to check this one out. I didn’t hear any icepick at all, just very rich & mid-focused tastiness.
Excellent demo Pete. Hey, I got some boots like yours. I liked the bit where you saw a bird - ha-ha! Fav tones: in 2nd place was the Strat clean, 1st place, that ambient wah/reverb/delay sounded beautiful.
Thanx Pete! Omg ! To Awesome 'Great Playing' Margaritas ' Random Bird Sightings' With Whaa Sound Effects! And Theirs an Awesome 'Whaa' Pedal In There Too! That We All Want Also!🎸🔊🎼👍
Sounds like the Dunlop Zakk Wylde pedal to my ears, which I owned back when I was playing heavier material. I go more for a Michael Schenker thing & Trower vibe these days.
I know what you mean about the paper thin bases on modern whas but I have a '72ish CryBaby with a very thick baseplate that would take a good deal to bend
Probably a dumb question, but when you have the buffered bypass on, is the buffer still active when you have the wah off? Being a buffered “bypass” I would assume it is to help preserve your tone because of long cable runs. I only ask because apparently with the Clyde Deluxe wah, the buffer is only active with the wah on.
I'm currently struggling with what is going to make me buy this was pedal more, the boss ass boots or the pimp ass sunglasses at :18.... decisions, decisions...
Oh yeah. Question. I found out that the order of the Wah with relation to a Fuzzface made a huge difference( 48 years ago). I think the Wah had to be after the Fuzz, or was it the other way around? Does the buffer in that Wah eliminate that issue? Thanks ,man. Love your work.
Ey Pete: as an in demand touring and session guitar player, I imagine (and have seen) that your chops are pretty darn polished. But I'm curious; if you are making this many new songs and jams, certainly many of them are off the cuff (at least a good portion of the solos). How many takes do you do on average per part, and is there a chance of us ever seeing a fun/funny blooper reel? Cheers
This thing sounds great no doubt but I have been seeing a lot of negative reviews online about quality issues including a weird noise it makes and other shite. It’s between this and the Xotic for me. I like my Dunlop 535Q but feel it’s lacking some mojo.
Funny man I read this yesterday and started to write in and I guess I pushed the button wrong and erased it all but yesterday I was going to say this was totally cool (as I've only had it for two or three days) and through last night into today I found this quirk, in that if you don't step all the way it will actually shut off like the switch breaks before makes... And the even funnier thing is I can't do it if I just pick up the pedal in my hands and try to push the switch lightly it's okay but then when I put it back on the floor even on a hard surface and press down there seems to be, all I can think of is something in the sponginess of the little felt part that's affixed to the bottom of the treadle... It's not like I'm trying to make it screw up but it will actually lose its sound as it's in between wah and bypass, and vice versa. Maybe it just needs an adjustment of the 3PDT, but for 165 or 70 bucks out the door w tax....Nu Uh Uh... No hotdog!
Hendrix was the Wah Master. Electric Ladyland...Rainy Day,dream away... and Jeff Beck on Ain’t Superstitious. Iconic,Legendary, and unequaled. Can the Friedman do that? “I don’t know, nobody knows...”
I got one yesterday I think it does. I recently sold my holy Grail logo on top 66 which was super similar to my chrome top 68 and I think this one in the middle mode sounds like them and this is also super lightweight like they are. I really detest those newer was that are super heavy. I'm just finding out about one strange thing right now in that when I depress the pedal if I don't happen to make it all the way through the sound actually glitches like it's a break before make switch. I got to look into this more but I may be taking it back.
Yo, Pete "All" wah pedals I have ever tried ( about 8 our 9) . . .all of them do that "tone suck" think as soon as they agree plugged in. I lose my Crisp High end . Does the Buffer in this one totally fix that ?
lol - I don't think I've ever see anyone do an "all wah" jam. That was pretty awesome! I have to agree - I like a "wah" that ramps to a "wow" at the end of the pedal travel. :)
I like the dueling guitars per channel trick too, but that ambient stuff at the end is dangerous to your guitar's health. I used to sit back and get my amp and everything dialed in and just play that stuff rolling on and off... Then I wake up about and hour later with my guitar almost touching the floor! Play that at your own risk or take some caffeine prior!
Hi Pete! I just went to Sweetwater on line to see the Gold 72 wah and saw this warning below it that I have never seen on any musical product before. It reads - " WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Formaldehyde (gas), which is known in the State of California to cause cancer. " What gives?
Certain States like California especially have really strict laws and it's possible that maybe just the glue that was used to hold down the rubber, or the feet or it could be the parts themselves that might not be what is it ROHS? compliant?. I just got mine yesterday and checked it out and it has a slight 'smell"to it. I don't want to start something weird because come on, almost everything has a smell, a cinnamon bun, fresh washed hair... And no it doesn't smell like that but, what do I know my Pop used to say I was all mixed up because my feet smell and my nose runs.
Pretty funny when I see Robert Baker, Shawn Tubbs, and now Pete Thorn "reviewing" this Wah Pedal at the same exact time. :-) But from a marketing standpoint, this "new" method of having real players "review" your product is genius, it really is. It SEEMS organic, even if it becomes rather obvious that Friedman is asking these 3 fine musicians to do the review since they all come out with their own review at the same time.
There is nothing worse for your product to be demoed by substandard guys,at least with these pro guys you have no excuses,it's not the pedal that sucks,it's you.
It's true- you basically have to make sure on day 1 your product has videos that reflect it in the way you want it to be presented- otherwise, everyone's first impression will be whatever someone random uploads on the net. Which could be great! Or terrible, if they can't play or record guitar well. It's a crap shoot, if you don't do your due diligence and make sure there's some good quality vids on day 1. Let's face it, most gear released these days IS GOOD! It all sounds quite good, it's like, flavors of good. So just record it well, and you're off to the races. Play bad or record poorly, and it can really bugger up a product release.
My whole problem with Pete's reviews is that I want to buy Pete and his talents instead of just buying another pedal. Throw in Pete, and you got yourself a deal, Friedman! LOL
Not even Pete can rock a wah without opening his mouth. Confirmed: Impossible
It's the only way to keep it 100% funky
Kirk Hammett liked this video 10 times
Another great demo, Pete. Best demo of the Friedman wah yet. Thank you!
What a song. Pete probably wrote it start to finish one afternoon.
Cheers!
Pete, I could watch you play the guitar all day brother. Killer wah pedal tones from the Friedman Gold 72
What a fucking excellent demo! More margarita based demos!! That strat looks sexy as hell!!! And also congrats on having the world's most desirable signature!!
I dig the fadeout! 70's baby!
Another awesome demo Pete! You are really making me want to get one of those EVH guitars Pete!
The 70's shades... rocked 'em - tick.
Intense shred - tick
Funkin' grooves - tick
Creative, album worthy composition - tick
Killer sounding demo, showing ace new pedal we really need (maybe just really want) - tick
Thank you Pete.
The high gain wah sounds were killer.
I love the tone you get from your strat in your videos.
Thank you Peter I am getting mine delivered on Wednesday along with the Golden Pearl I am really looking forward to this definitely.
Awesome track Pete -- Love the way it builds and Wha-aaaaahs!
Tremendous show Pete thorn! I love the faces I was making just hearing this.
You're a God among men Pete!
So... 72 is 69 with three options? Dave is twisted, gotta love him.
OMG you are the man... Incredible Pete....
GREAT demo Pete, you should have a cocktail more often when you’re making a video.
I don’t care for most wahs but I’m going to check this one out. I didn’t hear any icepick at all, just very rich & mid-focused tastiness.
Yes and yes it’s sweet, feels/sounds like a cool vintage wah
Excellent demo Pete. Hey, I got some boots like yours. I liked the bit where you saw a bird - ha-ha! Fav tones: in 2nd place was the Strat clean, 1st place, that ambient wah/reverb/delay sounded beautiful.
Like, what am I looking at? Ha I have no idea
“I made a margarita...so bear with me” 😂😂😂
Nothing wrong with gettin' a little buzz going and playing some guitar. Turned out great!
Yes! The demo I’ve been waiting for!
Thanx Pete! Omg ! To Awesome 'Great Playing' Margaritas ' Random Bird Sightings' With Whaa Sound Effects! And Theirs an Awesome 'Whaa' Pedal In There Too! That We All Want Also!🎸🔊🎼👍
The shades had me loling for real. Fantastic as always Pete!
Same here. The 'shade-clip' was hillarious.
Please make more videos while sippin' those margaritas! haha
that is one sic growl you got going with that wah... i like it
All pedal demos should be made after a margarita has been had
Hell to the yes
That weird, schizophrenic piece was crazy good! One of the many reasons to subscribe to your channel and watch as many demos as possible
Sounds like the Dunlop Zakk Wylde pedal to my ears, which I owned back when I was playing heavier material. I go more for a Michael Schenker thing & Trower vibe these days.
Nice shades! Thought you were going all Teddy Kumpel for a sec. Hey Teddy!
Love you both
I know what you mean about the paper thin bases on modern whas but I have a '72ish CryBaby with a very thick baseplate that would take a good deal to bend
Very cool song Pete! And now it’t time to change my Wah....🤔
I can’t wait to try out this wah and every other pedal you demo💰
Damn you Pete!! Selling me on all this awesome gear. Lol always good stuff!! Been on a wicked Friedman kick lately and none of this is helping. Lol
Very cool demo Pete ! & like the choice of your 'best boots' 🙂 Great wah !
Not as easy as it looks the temptation is to Rock the wah in time with the beat.
Pete....You are the man
Great vid Pete!
Got one on order. Dig it!
More interested in the margarita than the pedal. Spent the entire vid listening out for Pete's slurring. Cactus juice fuelled ma yhem! Funktastic!!!
Does the buffer work when the pedal is off, also?
Nice!!
Is there a full version of this song available? Sounded F’n awesome!
Aí sim ein... esse pedal fala ein... mega top. Adorei o timbre. Abraços e bends
Oh god that green Suhr...
I'm currently struggling with what is going to make me buy this was pedal more, the boss ass boots or the pimp ass sunglasses at :18.... decisions, decisions...
Seeing this has a buffer onboard, will it play nice with fuzz pedals?
mookyshoots1 you can switch off the buffer inside the pedal
Understood. What I'm asking is if this buffer will work with fuzzes like some of the higher end wahs, so that the wah can be placed before the fuzz.
Quite apart from the review I love the tune!! It's a keeper!!
Oh yeah. Question. I found out that the order of the Wah with relation to a Fuzzface made a huge difference( 48 years ago). I think the Wah had to be after the Fuzz, or was it the other way around? Does the buffer in that Wah eliminate that issue?
Thanks ,man. Love your work.
Sounds like a smooth dark blend of the Cantrell and Bonamassa wahs. Or something...
Ey Pete: as an in demand touring and session guitar player, I imagine (and have seen) that your chops are pretty darn polished. But I'm curious; if you are making this many new songs and jams, certainly many of them are off the cuff (at least a good portion of the solos). Nice chilling demo👌🏾👍🏾🙏🏾
HEY PETE! 3 different voice settings/switchable buffer did any body say fulltone clyde deluxe wah?this is cheaper i will give it that.
This thing sounds great no doubt but I have been seeing a lot of negative reviews online about quality issues including a weird noise it makes and other shite. It’s between this and the Xotic for me. I like my Dunlop 535Q but feel it’s lacking some mojo.

I’d like to hear this combines with that new aeon ebow
Hendrix was the Wah Master. Electric Ladyland...Rainy Day,dream away...
and Jeff Beck on Ain’t Superstitious.
Iconic,Legendary, and unequaled. Can the Friedman do that? “I don’t know, nobody knows...”
Is it sound like a Clyde?
I got one yesterday I think it does. What does the voice switch in the back position sound like?
Yo, Pete "All" wah pedals I have ever tried ( about 8 our 9) . . .all of them do that "tone suck" think as soon as they agree plugged in. I lose my Crisp High end . Does the Buffer in this one totally fix that ?
:) Joe Diorio impersonation is classic!
lol - I don't think I've ever see anyone do an "all wah" jam. That was pretty awesome!
I have to agree - I like a "wah" that ramps to a "wow" at the end of the pedal travel. :)
Ah, the Owen Wilson.
BWAHAHAHAHA - RIGHT!!

Play that at your own risk or take some caffeine prior!
We need more, “whachhhh” sound at the end, def mur!
Good stuff man.
You have to do more drunk videos. Super funny
I want one so bad!!!
So great

Beastly
After all the heaviness....light funk....kinda. Kinda nice.
Can u sell me ur guitar.. I like
Margarita Pete wears shades. ;)

Yeah it’s called a launch.
The only problem is everything Pete demos/reviews I want to buy. It’s not the pedals it’s the musicianship, best example is the 5150 chorus pedal.
My whole problem with Pete's reviews is that I want to buy Pete and his talents instead of just buying another pedal. Throw in Pete, and you got yourself a deal, Friedman! LOL
Great video!!!
Classe a.. show... awesome!!!!!
Ah fuck that is so cool! Well done Pete. Shit
*Must. Not. Make. Wah. Shape. With. Mouth.......*
Waaahhhttt?
Pete ur in my most interested men
1:11 🤣 watch out
And I like u pete
LOL,how hard is to not mouth wah when playing a wah! :-) \m/
LOVE IT!!!!!!
Hey Robert! Your vid was really good! On my way to GuitCon now, Paris layover
I like margarita Pete! :D :D :D
Why did I have a momentary Vai Flexible moment?
If you listen close, Kirk Hammett is moaning in ecstasy
Pete needs to stay away from margaritas. Lol.
When I do left and right wah parts, I purposefully do the opposite foot positions on each part...left down...right up...sounds HUuuuuUUUge!
How does it keep happening? Pete can't make a video that is not fun and informative. Thanks Pete.
Damn
Sounds perfect. If only it was switchless.
Cool! 70's porn soundtrack! LOL!!! Great stuff Pete! Thanks! :)
✌👏👍
Saw this too late, so I'm gonna spare everyone my Kirk dig...there're plenty already
Pete cantrell
lol, BUZZED
You sure he was looking at a bird?
