    i've never made my own soap before, but this one looks great!! i've heard so much about the benefits of charcoal and i love how you made a facial soap using it!

    Tara, I wouldn't be surprised if one day you were one of the most popular body care businesses! You literally cover almost everything! And it all looks so professional! ;)

  • @bkittenface3637

    Yay! You made some more cp soap. It’s actually the honey that accelerated your batter, beeswax can do that too. But the sugars from the honey get crazy... I always add mine heated with a little water at trace sometimes I’ll add a tablespoon of Greek yogurt and mix the honey w/ that. You soaped at perfect temps and they turned out amazing!!

    • @TaraLeee
      @TaraLeee  6 років тому +2

      I’ll definitely have to keep that in mind for next time! Sounds like a great technique. It does make sense that it was probably the honey and bees wax. Lol I never knew you could put yogurt in soap. That sounds awesome!!!

    • @bkittenface3637
      @bkittenface3637 6 років тому +1

      I sure hope you keep soaping and you’ll get to add them to your shop, I’ve been making and selling soap for 4 years now. People love having good soap.
      Yes, Greek yogurt especially (plain) is amazing. It even helps harden the bars it’s good to remove the same amount of water as you add yogurt. I have a great recipe for a cucumber and yogurt soap I’d be happy to share with you. It’s one of my best sellers and it doesn’t have to be fragranced with cucumber it can be anything! Using different teas and herb infused water for your lye solution is mega rewarding. Peppermint and camomile are my favs to use. Clays are also great in soap for adding slip and stabilization of lather. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next time you soap. Adding glycerin as a super fat is freaking genius and I tried that today. So clever!!

    Love the final product and all of your videos, you're so knowledgeable. A lil tip when making soap and adding oil soluble ingredients (in this case charcoal). Pull some oil off your measured oils from recipe and you won't have to add extra oils for mixing additives. I do this with all my soap additives, especially micas so as to not superfat beyond soap calc. 💕Thanks for all you share, you're AMAZING! PS........you handled acceleration beautifully BUT I think it was the honey that accelerated it, not the temps. Honey / Sugar helps with bubbles but accelerates horribly and even seizes.
