MAN!! That was non stop!! Seemed strange with no break downs!! I still like how everybody just DOES the job that needs to be done. Fantastic team work!! Fantastic TEAM!! I really enjoyed watching this all come together. thanks again for making this wonderful documentary.. I enjoy them all.
Yes Eric, the new camera does make you look thinner! Love this video with all four of the guys describing to us what they are doing! Well done. Nice shout out to Amy. In her newest video you can see Dougo raking !
I love it! Brody's spot on Chet impersonation is a piss! And now here's Dougo with the KVBR Springtime Melt Off Report. 80" of snow, or 6'66" inches. The Devil, you say!
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Having two high speed planters going at the same time makes for a busy day for everyone. Wow. Putting seed in the ground. No big breakdowns so Far so that is good. Keeping fingers crossed. Thanks to Dougo for talking with us. You do just great so don’t worry about that. Always enjoy what you have to say and your outlook on things. You are always right on top of current issues. Keep her going. Got over half the corn seed in the ground so that is good. Go get em. Eric you are putting in some hours running fertilizer and land roller. Get some sleep too. Chet you are super busy with the seed tender and all that goes with it. And then doing some field work on top of that. Busy busy time for you and the gang. Hang in there. About it I guess. Thanks for everything Chet and everyone. Take care and be safe. The Iowa Farm Boy. I was hoping for a video, love when planting season is in full tilt, and am praying that all you farmer's get the weather you need this year for bursting crops. G-d bless everyone.
Hey, When are we going to see Jean Marie in the tractors or the Trucks this planting season? She will be a great addition to the family farm. Have A Safe and Blessed Day!!!
Love seeing everyone with their own camera and their versions of what is going on. It is also cute to see Brody pick on Chet when he was waiting. Glad to see planting is going well.
Hi Doug, just a quick explanation on snow pack. I'm a Swiss ski patroller and here is my take on it. Unless you are in a permafrost region the ground will not freeze, the ground temp stays at around 32F or 0c. 80 inches seams like a lot but due to the sun, wind and super cold temperatures you guys get it will actually suck an enormous amount of moisture out of the snow pack. A great way to see that is surface hoar. the moisture taken out of the snow-pack creates jagged crystals on the surface layer (unless the wind destroys them) and I bet you probably see stalactites and stalagmites close to the ground layer which is a tale-tale sign of the moisture taken out of the ground. In Europe we are in a maritime climate and we only see that at high altitudes. You guys are in a continental climate which means you will see that phenomenon at lower altitudes. the continental climate and it's big temperature gradients creates huge temperature differences and creates way more evaporation. So come spring, all that snow has very little water content in it, and if it all melts in 3 days.... well, it'll all run off and not soak into the ground... sorry for the rambling ;) love the content, keep it coming! keeeeeep it comming !! lol
"suck an enormous amount of moisture out of the snow pack" I think its called sublimation...where snow goes directly into the air without melting first.
@@colorado1088 yep, sublimation is when a gas or vapeur goes straight into a solid state. there is also a state of re-sublimation that occurs in certain circumstances. Anyway sublimation increases the size of the facets and creates instability in the snow pack not that it matters much in Dougo's case but yep I agree.
@@Len_M. Never been to Alberta, but makes sense you guys are relatively close to the Ocean and in a maritime climate with the jet stream bringing you a bunch of moisture ;) I need to go ski there one day!
Chet Dougo Eric Broodie that was great a full day of planting And fertilizing rolling and digger that was something else great explanations and workthank you all.
In the midlands of South Carolina we didn't even have a frost this past winter we did however have some rain that helps with the spring planting as of May 22 the corn around here is right at 24" high all the cotton has made a great cover, truly hate what you guys go through each winter, well hoping y'all have a great planting season...
This meteorologist appreciates the weather report! And the older videos of all the snowmelt running through the ditches. Hopefully you didn't have too much road and culvert damage.
I’m not a farmer but I always enjoy Swedes explanations of farming. He brings up the problematics of farming but explains it perfectly clear. Afterwards, I’m like oh yeah, you gotta spray for pre-emergents,duh
We need to see a day in the life of amy as she’s always running around to feed all y’all. Bet she stays busy busy. Didn’t know about the snow doesn’t help moisture ( we don’t get snow in Houston tx very often) and didn’t know amy had a youtube channel. 57 years old and still learning.
Dougo, I think you have well earned the right to slack off anytime you want. You have built a very productive farm over the years and it shows even through how Chet carries himself as a focused and mature person and son at such a young age. Brodie, think I'm crazy here, but the next time you clean your windows, and I'm not kidding here, use a cheap furniture polish. Trust me, it works wonders. 👍
Another great video with everybody showing up to contribute.. The two times of the year with much longer days are planting and harvest. You guys are working really hard. I trust the balance of your planting season will go well.
Chet, another informative video GOOD JOB👍Big Swede, love to listen to you explain things, your thinner self now with NEW camera😁you explain things very well Good Job👍 Brodie, nice to see you getting more comfortable on video you have a way with words, you can hold your viewers. Brodie your windows are impeccably clean per usual. Good Job👍 and last BUT, never least Dougo, Thank You for your speech on snow melt, you have to know what your talking about you know your fields and what they are like come spring thaw. You are a pleasure to watch and listen to, Glad to see you are adapting to more camera time, you need to bring Toby with you sometime. Good Job Dougo👍 oh and Dougo, I am subscribed to Amy's channel I watched yesterday when you were supossed to be taking, you did make a few attempts all is good. Love her channel, not only is Amy Beautiful, she is smart too, she has great videos, she don't give herself enough credit she could do wonders. Those Toby videos were my favorite, but I realize they were on the Larson Farms videos. Well you are Larsons and you and Amy are part owners so I can give you a thumbs up for both you tube channels. God Bless and Happy Planting🙏
