    I have watched a bunch of diy storage videos and yours is by far the BEST! I like that yours does not involve having me cut 200 - one- inch pieces of cardstock (yes, that was the instruction for one of the videos I saw: cut 200 pcs !!! ) . I like that I can actually find the materials (you use )in a local store! I am very excited about making these. You just saved me $$$$$ . Bless you!

    Greetings from the far north of Sweden.
    Please forgive my abrupt and spontaneous response and permit me to unfiltered state my opinion:
    Wow, How brilliantly clever ❤️❤️❤️ (impressed)
    This is literally a utmost genuinely perfect, and exquisite example.
    A rare manifestation of the very spirit and mindset that is like a hallmark for the rare type of very intelligent, versatile, and richly gifted crafter.
    Plus This is a showcase of exactly what all DIY is about!
    Namely using the materials at hand combined with ingenuity, intelligence, creativity and “out of the box thinking ”, and coming up with a solution to the issue at hand.
    It is That divine spark of creativity that spurs a creative person to do and come up with DIY, or inventors to come up with new inventions regardless what medium is used or utilized.

      That was the plan! I don't know if you've heard, but Stampin' Up! is introducing newly redesigned stamp cases. They are wonderful! They stack which will help a lot when I have them out and in use, but I didn't want to have to keep pulling them out of the stack when designing. I've found they do still fit in these same size boxes... kind of. They are hard to pull out but if you stick something in the back they stick out enough to grab them. I just stuck a facial tissue in each box for now, but I think when I get the full set, I'll make new boxes to fit better.

I continue to use the homemade ones for my Memento, VersaMark, and Stazon stamp pads. I also have a pre-packed bag for basic supplies I take when traveling. I have about 20 stamp pads in this very same storage. The card stock is just now beginning to get a little rough on the edges, but otherwise they are great! Not bad for 7 year old card stock cases!

    Hi Bev! I’m a former Demo from early 2000’s. I’ve soo outgrown my carousel and my stampin-things wood carousel. Been searching for something like this forEVER.
    I have a few questions if you have time:
    1) did you adhere the boxes on the top and bottom?
    2) no back? I’m seeing that you moved it... so I wondered about structure.
    3) does the paper hold up? I’m Adhd and a bit wreck less 😬 so I worry.
    Thanks much! Love your site! Off to explore more.
    Jo McEnroe

    • @bevadams-su
      @bevadams-su  4 роки тому +1

      1) I adhered the box bottoms to the foam core board. That allowed me to move sets of 5 and reconfigure any way I wanted. I started with them on a shelf in my cabinet but moved them to my window sill. But you could certainly adhere the whole thing together.
      2) No back, but you could add one. A back and sides would add to the strength.
      3) My first one held up for over a year and was going strong. Then along came the new stamp pads, so I replaced the boxes as I replaced the old style with the new. I finally finished switching over and used the new boxes for quite a while. It was still going strong. When Stampin' Up! offered the Storage by Stampin' Up!, I moved on to that. I am enjoying the space for the Stampin' Write Markers and also the Stampin' Blends trays. But I believe my card stock boxes would still be fine. And if it collapsed, it would have been very easy to replace it.
      It would not hold up if you took all the stamp pads out and set something heavy on top... at least not the way I built it. The boxes are pretty close to the size of the stamp pads and the foam core bridges any gaps when you take several pads out. If you stacked them up high and took all the stamp pads out of one of the bottom layers it would probably collapse the way I built it.
      If you are concerned about it, you could make it very sturdy and finished by adding a back of foam core or mat board, then add sides of foam core or mat board, and then top it off with another piece of board. I believe that would hold up to anything except setting a big brick on top of it.

      I am making this today. I bought brown Kraft cardstock in 110 pound thickness... and it was too thick for cards. So, I’m using that to make this storage. Cardstock is thin. It might be prettier, but I wanted something that might last a little longer. Also, you can add clear packaging tape to laminate the front of your boxes before you fold and fuse them.

    If you fold the short tabs between the long tabs, they'll 'disappear' and you won't have any hang ups at the bottom. So, fold the long side, then short tab, then long tab so that the short tab is sandwiched between the two long ones.

      I understood that you sell stampin up products during the course of the video - just thought the title of the video could really have included the Stampin Up name to make it clear. Thanks.

    Hi Bev. Just found your ink pad storage video. Curious since the video is a few years old, do you still use this system to date? Have you replaced or redone the little boxes? So thrifty. Thanks for sharing.

      To be honest, Stampin' Up! came out with a stamp pad storage that I now use for most of my stamp pads. I do still use this storage for the stamp pads that I have that are not the current style of stamp pads Stampin' Up! sells. But I feel confident that most of the boxes would be in good condition.
      I make boxes for the drawers my supplies are in. I've been using the same boxes for year. My top drawer holds my most frequently used items and often I toss stuff in there without much care. There are a few of the boxes that I really do need to remake, but most are still holding up. And if you have to redo some boxes, it's really not too big of a deal. It really does just cost pennies and doesn't take too much time at all.

    HI Bev, I love your craft space! I know this video is a few years old, but can you tell me what the brand of your beautiful media cabinet is and where you purchased it? I have a large one very similar to this that does hold my CD's and DVD's but yours would be perfect for my craft storage and it would match my current cabinet! Thanks for sharing such great tips!

      I bought it on Amazon. They say it is not currently available, but maybe there's something similar.

    was looking for an easy and good price pointi could use, thaks so much,i don't have a cbniet do you think if i put a foamboaed on back.DO YOU THINK I COULD STAND UP ON DESK OR HANG ON WALLIT WOULD WORK?

    • @bevadams-su
      @bevadams-su  6 років тому

      You do not need to put it in a cabinet. In fact, just today I moved mine from the cabinet so I could fit more stamp sets in. I've moved the stamp pads to my window sill. You do not need to do anything more, but you certainly could add a foam core back, sides, and/or top it you like. I put some foam core on the top just so it looks more complete, but it's just barely tacked down with a bit of SNAIL.I'm not sure if it will stay on my window sill or not. I think it could sit anywhere. I don't think you could hang it on a wall, but you could hang a shelf and sit it on top.

      Bev Adams yes, I'm very interested. I do not have any new style SU pads, but I have some older SU and all different kinds of brands of ink pads. My storage would need to be of various sizes.

    Very nice. Did you just set the rows on top of each other or did you glue them together?

    • @bevadams-su
      @bevadams-su  6 років тому

      I adhered them with glue dots, but only because I'm still settling in to my new craft area. And it's a good thing. I decided to move them to my window sill with only 3 long rows. I will probably glue them when I'm sure they'll stay where they are. Of course, if I decide to change it later, it's no big deal to make a new one.
