This was really interesting and I learned quite a bit about the considerations that go into a properly designed dynamic campaign. It's a term that gets thrown around a lot and it's great to see such a clear and well-presented video on the topic.
As a sim-lite enjoyer myself, I think taking a look into classic Dynamic Campaigns such as IL-2 1946 and Strike Fighters 2 (which is literally just a .txt file setup, it's impressive what you can do with just text editing) would be worthwhile.
Great analysis and insight in the history of dynamic campaigns. Its incredible that the dynamic campaign was written by an internship at Spectrum HoloByte (even if he eventually signed on full time).
In your upcoming BMS video; do you go over what happens with aggregation when playing in 3D world? Is aggregation still happening around the player? Say I am doing a strike near the front line, are all units in a bubble of my area in full fidelity where as everything outside of my bubble is still aggregated?
Around your plane everything is always deaggregated and simulated with the highest fidelity possible. In part 2 I will explaing why and how it is done.
Hey! This series just got brought to my attention. I will give my full thoughts when completed! I think you may like my video tierlisting all 90s sims with dynamic campaigns. Checkout my channel, it made some big hits and started some flame wars :p

Hey. I think this is not the full story. In the third video, when I talk about TAC Thunder you will see why.
Thanks for the video!
