As an American, the fact that he’s in the running for the second time, is beyond embarrassing.
You and Americans in general are the only ones who can do something about this. Vote. And if you can, volunteer and help the Biden campaign and Democrats in general. Knock on doors, donate, phone bank, help increase voter turnout etc.
This is the by far best thing Americans can do right now and it doesnt even cost money (except donating money)
I am an American who was cautiously optimistic about the first trump presidency. While he accomplished some positive results by far I see his influence as a net negative. After the January 6th events I would vote for an African Grey Parrot before I vote for that man.

Joe actually passed a much needed infrastructure bill that both parties had failed to pass for decades. He called out Putin on the edge of invasion and started the push to arm Ukraine, he even got a border bill nearly signed but trump and the MAGoos in congress killed it. He’s done tons of quiet under the radar work to minimize the Chinese threat and prepare for the future. I’m a former republican. You guys are being repeatedly lied to and brainwashed by some legit evil pricks.

As an American deeply interested in the political atmosphere in my country, I wanted to add a few observations not addressed in this interview. This will be done as objectively as one can - I would never want to give Ukrainians and their friends around Europe any false hope - only facts.
At 13:00 head-to-head polls between Biden and Trump were discussed by Anastasiia and her guest. The guest was right to not take these polls at face value. This far out these polls mean very little. Most American voters do not start paying attention to the presidential race until after the major parties hold their conventions in late summer. Recent state polls during the primaries have often been wildly inaccurate - as much as 30 percent off the actual result, and nearly all of those inaccuracies falsely favored the Republicans.
Another factor that has nothing to do with Ukraine has been the wave of political activism by women who had their right to abortion stripped away by the Dobbs decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. Three of the six SC Justices that made that decision were Trump appointees, and Trump is bragging about it. The former president will be blamed by tens of millions of women voters for this strike against them come November.
Also, The Republican party is fracturing, and Trump's support is shrinking among Republicans and Independents. It has been calculated that more than half of Nikki Haley's supporters will either vote for Biden or not vote for a presidential candidate. Trump, who needs every vote he can get, publicly said, in effect, that Haley's supporters can go away. By any measure that is a losing strategy.
Finally, the American mass media has begun to break away from their 'balanced' approach to covering the race more soberly. President Biden's performance at the State of the Union address earlier this month has impressed Americans about his mental acuity, while Trump's campaign speeches are revealing a man greatly diminished from the one who ran for president four years ago.

Welcome back, Ms. Lapatina. You and your incisive intelligence have been missed ! Thank you for taking my question: Europe waking up is very much on my mind. As "Darth Putin" on twitter so sagely put it, "You had the chance to stop me. You didn't. Here we are." Where to go from here in a pan-European sense is very much on my mind and focus these days.
When asking if Trump can win, look at what European leaders are doing. Answer, yes…Americans are more concerned about TikTok than Ukraine
I think Europe is on the move to intensify support to Ukraina, but is short on own production and store right now.

Ukranians don’t realize that Biden is not good for them because he allowed Putin to invade Ukraine under his watch and he didn’t even lift a finger he is so weak and can’t put Putin in his place. If Europe gives all the seized Russian assets to Ukraine, or contributes an additional 100 billion Euros a year, Ukraine will easily win even if there is zero US aid. Ukraine can take that money and buy US weapons (even Trump won't block arms sales). Also, keep in mind that European ammunition production will be substantial by 2025.
Europe has sufficient financial resources to ensure a Ukrainian victory without any US aid if it has the will.
I want to agree but Im not convinced because Europe is just way too slow. Ukraine needs arms and ammunition now. Not in 2 years. Thats the problem. Europe is building a few ammunition factories right now, which is great, but until they are done and produce at full capacity, Russia will have advanced further and will have mined virtually every square kilometer. Europes issue is that everything it does is too slow and too late and this costs ukrainian lifes.
@@moffig1 my point is that Europe can get Ukraine weapons quickly, even without US funding if Europe just provides the funding itself. The US is happy to sell weapons to Ukraine right now if Europe pays for it. The dysfunctional US government just isn't able to fund weapons purchases itself.
@@msurkan1 no, that's the problem. US has contracts within and outside the US with delivery commitments. Thats why the US weapons have come out of existing inventory. Europe can't seem to deliver anything, which is why the obsession with what the US does.
Congratulations to Kyiv Independent. It is fascinating to hear the Ukrainian perspective of the threat that they face from Trump and his Maga sheep. It is also very worrying, although I do believe that the great American people will eventually come to their senses and do the right thing, not just for Ukraine, but for the sake of the democratic world. From his his unpredictable behavior during his presidency it will be difficult to determine what Donald Trump will do next.
I believe in my opinion if trump gets back in power, trump will switch support to putin.even at the cost of UN support to the United States.

Perhaps have a Political Scientist for this conversation. I suggest Dr. Timothy Snyder, who would be happy to speak to you. He would explain that Trumps narcissistic drive for absolute power includes throwing Ukraine, NATO, and Europe under the bus. This guest steered your audience off course. The border compromise bill did not fix the border. The compromise bill was about how to process more illegals more efficiently which would only encourage them to continue to flood the border. It was not about closing the border. Which is what most Americans want to do.
I’m an American and I don’t want the border completely shut, also the bill did more than improve efficiency. Republican senators repeatedly told the MAGoos in congress that it was the best they could hope for. Republicans have wanted most of what’s in the bill since the 90s.

Even if Trump wins, or loses with or without the 60 billion. We can send you 400 billion and that will not change the fact that you will lose the war. You don't have a army, airforce, and a navy. And you always have to rely on foreign countries for help. I'm sorry I have to tell you that.
When Putin dies, Russia splits up. If Ukraine can hold out, they become the strong young democracy in sick old Europe.

I already know it will be a routine recitation of the same old pitch, grounded in the superstitious dependency on American aid equaling Ukrainian victory I've been hearing for over two years.
Here's a tip, Ukraine, since you have worked so hard at denying the obvious this long: your man Biden was NEVER going to allow Russian arms to be defeated according to the Ten Points doctrine. Never ever. The weak, ignorant, underqualified, disinterested, uninvested and absolutely leaderless current DC administration has been openly sabotaging this precise objective on Ukraine's part since the very beginning of the invasion in 2022. It has been luring Ukraine's future instead into yet another of America's 'frozen conflicts' around the planet all along.
