    Thank you Kandye, I love the old coins too. If I didn’t have so many things similar to that which were hand crocheted by my grandmother, I would buy one of your rugs-although the coasters are a good idea🤩

    Hi Kandye, Thank you for sharing your knowledge about these penny rugs, so interesting! It is very hot here in New England these past few days, we are on a tornado watch tonight which is quite unusual for our neck of the woods. Always a joy to see you and hope you have lots in store for us again soon! Stay cool!

    Hi Kandye. My very first Penny rug that I made was in your honor! You taught me the blanket stitch. I had never made any kind of craft before that. I have some of the wonderful wool you sold and will be making more this fall. Enjoyed the video! God bless, love you!❤❤

    What a wonderful gift Dale gave you, Kandye..extra special. Just wanted to give you a suggestion about placing your initials and the date you completed the penny mat. I too have made the three circle penny mat, that was open on the back, no solid piece of wool was used to sew the pennies down. I embroidered on one circle on the back of the mat my initials and year in that one circle, as in 100 yrs, there will some type of record of completion, just like a sampler. Great video..stay cool and safe from Arizona 🌵

      Thanks Elisabeth! That's a great idea!

    • @Elisabeth-zi8ww
      @Elisabeth-zi8ww 7 місяців тому

      Not sure if you use this trick..instead of using tiny applique pins, I use double sided scotch tape..taking my paper circle template, placing a couple of strips of tape on it, then placing it on the wool and then cutting out the circle..you can cut out several circles before replacing the tape..
      I made these for a shop in the Phoenix area, along with custom size mats, so speed in cutting out circles was essential...😉

    • @cabincrafts2239
      @cabincrafts2239  7 місяців тому +1

      I don't use pins, I actually have a cool circle cutter that I use, but that's a great idea!

      Keep me in your prayers tonight please. I'm very down. My videos just aren't getting views like they used to and I've cried all day. Then I go to post on Facebook and the source of my despair is plastered all over it. I just don't understand. I keep praying and praying and they just seem to bounce off the ceiling.

    • @Elisabeth-zi8ww
      @Elisabeth-zi8ww 7 місяців тому

      You will be in my nightly prayers, Kandye..🙏.Just give this video time, you will get the views..Please call anytime if you need to talk.
      I've never heard of the tool you use to cut circles, but the scotch tape idea maybe a good idea for your viewers that had never cut small circles..plus the tape can be purchased anywhere as the applique pins are a bit hard to find, sometimes..
      I did post a new comment about doing a video of your shop, as I'm sure you have pieces of merchandise that are not listed on your website..as we all love to support small business..looks like that comment fell off this comment section too. Hum, so strange..like someone is deleting my comments..Now don't despair, the Angels are with you..😇

    Kandye, I just received my wool from your shop. The colors are beautiful! When I opened the box, a very lovely smell came from the box - is that the smell of your shop? If so, it's amazing! I can't wait to get started! I want to make some candle rugs for my home and for Christmas presents. I've got the books, your videos, and my floss all ready. I have been down with Covid so it's been kind of comforting to watch your videos and think about making these Christmas presents. Do you have videos with wool felt Christmas ornaments? I've been wanting to make some bird ornaments for the tree.

    • @cabincrafts2239

      You are probably smelling the store. I always have wax melts burning in the shop. It's the same scents as the candles that I have online. I haven't done a video on ornaments yet, but that's a good idea. You can use simple cookie cutters as patterns and embellish as you like with beads, ric rac, etc.

      You're welcome! I've seen ornaments that look like simple sugar or gingerbread cookies. For example a sugar cookie snowman use use a light beige for the base, then a white piece of felt smaller on top so some cookie edge shows and then sew on beads and such for his eyes and buttons. You could also do a round cookie with white icing and different colored beads on top to look like sugar sprinkles.

    Your penny is a bit older than mine. I have a 1893 Indian head cent in such poor condition that I can barely read it. My mom had a coin purse full of mostly wheat pennies and this one. She started collecting pennies when her parents divorced around 1943, she was about 4 years old and times were tough. The whole bunch is probably worth $1.47 US! I care more about what they represent than their cash value, a sad little girl and her fortune.

      Keep hanging onto them! You never know! One of these days you might have a fortune! Some pennies made during the war are more valuable!
