Great review guys 🙂 I was at a Springbank tasting last weekend with one of their representatives. I was amazing - super informative super funny and a great lineup! You've gotta love Springbank😍
So nice to watch you guys. I haven't watched a review in quite some time. This just popped up on my feed :) I think you know how I love Springers. This is a matured in European oak sherry casks. The older expression will absolutely blow you away. Great review and interaction. See ya in the SA Nation
The Whisky Hunter I have read that the older Springnanks’s absolutely incredible, i’ve been debating pulling the trigger on the 25 year. Thoughts? Always good to have you stop by AB, i’ve always considered you a true whisky OG 😉🤣
@@topshelfwhisky Thanks Brother, the 25 year is amazing, so are the single casks. If you come across any distilled in the 70s or 80s it will blow you away. They used to be some what reasonable. You know where I'm at whenever you want to come dram
I'm still straddling the fence about Springbank so I need to do more research after two or three expressions, but it is great to see the two of you on the small screen together at the same time...
Great review Mike. I didn't like the 10 so much, but man!! Springbank's 12 cask strength is absolutely delicious. I'm picking up a bottle of Glenmorangie Allta today. It's a new release from them. Maybe you can review it sometime.
Christopher Rivera I agree with everything you said, I wasn’t impressed with the 10 year but I was blown away by the 12 cask strength... sounds like We have very similar pallets... let me know what you think of the Glenmorange.
@@topshelfwhisky The Glenmorangie was awesome. It's one of the most unusual whiskys I've ever had. It sort of tasted like a bitter(in a good way) lemon meringue pie with pepper. It's got a high abv of 51.7 which is kind of unusual for Glenmorangie.
One thing I’m wondering Mike is that do you still give this a 91 with your today’s standards or not? This is one question I always ask myself when I watch one of your older reviews.
I would not. I'm a work in progress ;) I don't have this bottle anymore but based on the time this review was released it "should" adjust to about an 87/100
Another great review that I enjoyed. Springbank may make awesome Scotch but man oh man I just HATE their logo and packaging. Whenever I see it I just cringe and tell myself they make wonderful stuff. Also Mike is a VIP. Shoot Springbank 16 Local Barley. Nice. All I can get is the 9 yo version.
Some of the best whiskeys come with extremely cheap packaging. Glenfarclas comes to mind. I just picked up some independent bottling’s (Port Charlotte 16 CS and Glenlivet 25 CS) that work is cheap as $20 whiskies but they are absolutely incredible... don’t miss out my friend.
Mentioning a higher ABV for whisky as an advantage is just weird. The lower ABV is far more flavorful, whisky is not obscured by that nasty alcohol haze, and you can really taste the flavors that are supposed to be there. Whisky tastes best at 46%. Period.
And thanks for mentioning the fishy taste, I was furious because I wasn´t able to describe the taste, so thank you very much for pointing that out because thats exactly what I taste in there. A little bit of fishiness. :D
Great review of a great whisky. Everyone needs a Keith in their life! Cheers.
Whiskey Straight Al I knew I liked you🙂

The Whisky Hunter and I’m coming for some of those Glenfarclas family casks!!!
I had a ton of fun dramming with you last weekend. I will turn you into a Springbank fanboy eventually 🙂
@@ratherbbankin Yes…the one with the zebra on it right?🙂. Cheers🥃

Why are so many people afraid of water I think 85% of whiskies need from 1drop to 2 tsps. Mike is not afraid.
James D. Wheeler well, not afraid with Keith’s pour.
You guys like superficial fish rather than super-fishy fish? I couldn't resist... I also enjoyed my all too brief visit to St Maarten.
I like most fish, Swordfish is probably my favorite but I will eat more of it. Keith is the gum and fish connoisseur!
Springbank around my way is $165 w/o taxes allocated. I can't find another 15 yr old better or commanding the price.
Where is the Curly Howard of whisky vlogs?

A little fishy but a great review! Somebody needs to cartel that watering Mike.
VaryingViewpoint I really need an eye dropper. 🤣🤣 I did that to Billy all the time.

Just add more whisky! Who cares about the packaging.

Ummmm can you secure a LB 16 for me Mike?!!! That was still available...unreal. Seriously let me know.
Jason Fisk headed back to the scene of the crime next month, I call ahead to see if any are on the shelves.
Mike’s Whisky Reviews Appreciate that Mike!

Btw the price here in Czech Republic right now is 100USD-ish for a bottle. Really great price for one of the best things for long winter nights. :D

For me a higher abv is a positive. I prefer it and I can always add water if needed... I feel as if I’m the captain of my own ship with cask strength.
