Appreciate you sharing the story of my departure. Lots of artists going through this. Many folks looking for a new way forward.
Was a big offspring fan , but the way you were treated is as far removed from a punk/rock and roll attitude as you can get. It’s the attitude of big business, which iv actually nothing against, but it’s not a punk attitude . You don’t need me to tell you but, you were right standing your ground. Good luck with your new projects.

Wow, after seeing this it’s not right. I got vaccinated and all that. Then after 3 years got real sick with it. Didn’t change a thing. When I got my second shot I was out cold for 5 days of work sick as I was with Covid.
I really think there was time in 2020-2022 when it became a political stance. Unfortunately a lot of hate and weirdness was thrown around. I get people want to work, and they may have dismissed you due to not being able to tour a certain country. But outside that I don’t get it? The conversation should have still been open. But seems it was treated as an institution, with suits in front of it. Keep your head up man!

I'm glad he stood his ground. It's so sad that his band mates treated him with such contempt. I can relate. I was thrown out of my family for nearly 18 months because I hadn't taken the jab. I feel for him and his family especially.

That's the conflicted nature of righteousness. We get so accustomed to the apparent duality of right vs wrong that we often times forget that we live intricate and inextricable lives.
How can we do right by others without wronging someone else? How do we stick to or change our principles and ideologies when we realize their benefits and costs?
That's the complex nature of situations related to freedoms and safeguards. Many people seem to perceive a contradiction between the two in light of the pandemic, but freedom and safety aren't opposing ideas. Some people think the jab is better for community health and freedoms while other people think individual freedom and accountability for one's health is better for the community.
Both are true. The true conflict of these two apparently disparate ideas depends on the practices used to balance these freedoms and safeguards. Otherwise this "controversy" would be notably weaker, and most people would reconcile most of the personal ideological differences existing in society.
I haven't listened to Offspring in years... I'm gonna continue that trend.

Dear drummer, every family has suffered the same type of split due to the same reason. It's hard, but be glad you're not stuck. It's a miracle at this stage.
Whilst doing the sound at a local punk gig whilst these things were temporarily "allowed" to happen in summer 2020, I heard a singer of a punk band say the words "follow the rules and stay safe". I had a good chuckle to myself at that one.

My wife and I were ostracized from Christmas gatherings for two years in a row (and seeing family in general at any other time) by her family for not getting the jab. Now they all have allegedly gotten cov several times since they all got their jabs. That jab certainly had a religious following, that's for sure.
Def Leppard put their entire career on hold while their drummer recovered after losing an arm in a car wreck. They did not fire their now one-armed drummer. They were one of the biggest bands out at that time and that took several years. Contrast that to the supposedly punk rock Offspring.

This is the day the Offspring died for me and they were my favourite band at one point in time. I was offered a free ticket to see them and knocked it back because I think they're wankers. It was obvious that it was going to become milder over time. The molecular biologist should have realised that. During COVID there was just an overwhelming need to be the most conspicuous, obedient example of conformity possible. Not what I want from my so-called Punk Rock bands 😂😂😂😂

By that time, we already knew that the so-called "vaccines" _only_ serve as a prophylactic treatment to reduce the symptoms of Covid, NOT to prevent it from being spread! Phizer has since admitted that they never even tested their "vaccine" to see if it was effective at preventing contraction or transmission!
I'd say they owe their fired bandmate a major apology, although I wouldn't hold my breath. Ideological zealots rarely change their minds, even when it's clear they were wrong. Why do you think communism and fascism still exist!

It's shocking the way they treated you, one of my neighbours was diagnosed with guillain-barre Syndrome after getting the vaccine as he suffered serious side effects from it, it's been nearly 2 years since getting the vaccine and he's still pretty much bed bound needing 24 hour care. So you definitely made the right decision a shame others saw dollars and not the person. Wish you well in all your future endeavours.

I'm a musician who took the high road and lost my career temporarily as well, but mainly for moral reasons against tyranny. Many including the Offspring didn't as money and conformity to authoritarian dictates to them are far more important.
The Offspring, or to be more precise, Holland and Noodles, are just one more addition to a long list list of celebrities who showed us their true colours in the last few years. Biggest respect in the world to Pete for having morals.

The craziest part about this is that I thought Dexter would be much more civil to his bandmate and "friend", since his field of study was specifically working on mRNA "vaccines" and he knew of Pete's medical condition. I have been diagnosed with the same thing and was also told by my doctors not to get the vaccine due to the risks.
I have nerve damage and my Dr told me to stay away from these shot's , but I had no intention of taking them anyway and glad my family and I didn't!

Well I use to l0ve the Offspring. Grew up listening to there music. Now I will not be listening to them and telling everyone to boycott the Offspring. It is so refreshing that people are standing for what is best for them . Not being pushed around. I never took the 💉. I only increase my immune system. By eating better, exercising. I even gave up drinking. Since alcohol is nothing but pure poison. SARS-COV2 did one great thing for me. Made me more knowledgeable and healthy.

He should have been isolating. I am sure he was advised to do so by the doctors. So, how does that work on tour buses, airplanes and trains overseas? Let's say they let him do what he wanted, then he got sick and died. That could mean a lawsuit.

I don’t have all the answers, but it’s not letting him do what he wanted. It’s what the doctors recommended and gave him a medical exemption for. Not only that, but they said later in the video that they didn’t go anywhere that required the vaccine plus a bunch of other people on the tour said they weren’t vaccinated either.
And then there’s the question of why not just hire a touring drummer, and then go back to him when you’re done with the tour?
The fact is their explanation doesn’t hold up because it makes no sense.
When you get hired in a famous band you're a gigging employee not a partner. Honestly this sounds like a logistical problem not a personal problem.

The drummer was the only musician in this band with a brain.
He literally said it wasn't even our decision to be forced to get jabbed. But it was their choice to kick out their drummer. These guys are just owned in speaking for the big pharma.

I had my ticket for The Offspring show in Dublin going to see them for the first time finally as I don't like festivals they play through England. Then government guidelines hit. I was made aware that without vacation, no entry. No way. Damn. So, the test was not enough for them. I had to get the refund. I didn't care about the refund. I wanted to see my favourite band for the first time. Covid was something that affected many lives differently. I'm not saying it's not serious. I had it and was in a bad state feeling like dying for 3 weeks. But come on, let people do their own decisions regarding this. You want to protect yourself, you get vaccinated and all, if you don't then, have your freedom. Anyway. Shame I haven't see them and also they had to let Pete go just coz of this.
Nobody needs The Offspring. Neither does Pete Parada.
