Great videos. Three quick comments. - The reflector is 35° (hence the numbers). - The CF4 Barn Doors can hold a 5” scrim (that’s the reason for the clip you play with in the video). - There is indeed a new Spotlight in the works for the 80c.
@ yeah I also think because they come from a time with no DMX, no CRMX included they automatically are considered older than a lot of the other products. If they had them, even just wired DMX then they’d feel less old
This 80C's output is only slightly less than the aputure 300x in terms of lux and foot candles so a 150C would presumably have significantly more output than a 300x so it's pretty remarkable how efficient they've gotten.
Hahah right right! To be fair, I had the only set of lights in the country and they arrived one day before I picked them up to shoot the video and then I had to give them back straight away for other people to go play with them. But very true, we do get things pretty quick here in Korea as we're only a small sea away from China :)
It would be nice to know the price and outputs and luxs, without those two things, this light literally it's meaningless to me right now as far as purchasing.
80C Bare Cob: 5,600K 1m 6,502 lux /604 fc 120d II Bare Cob: 5,500K 4700 lux @1m I’m guessing though the 120d’s beam angle could be wider and less concentrated? 80C is a better choice though, CRMX, 1800K-20000K, GM shift etc. 120ds aren’t made anymore. ✌️
That was my initial thought. Then I remembered that the 1200x BLAIR had a higher output than the 1200d. So, I guess I'll wait wait until I see output numbers. If it's less than 2/3 the output of the 300c in white and RGB, then it's not worth it in my book.
@@B-Moye or you could just get the Aputure amaran 300c for less sure it’s bigger but it’s also more powerful, without the spot feature that the 60x has it’s not much of a comparison or draw for me.
@lemnisgate8809 the 300C has no CRMX, no DMX. :( And when I turned them on side by side, the colours aren’t the same which was interesting. The Storm line up is superior for sure, if you need the features it provides. I personally need CRMX now in my work, I didn’t buy more 300Cs for this reason. I believe the 300C is still brighter but it’s not built like the 80c. No IP rating etc etc Tools for different jobs :) But I’m sure there’ll be some middle sized fixtures in STORM which will beat out the 300C even in output. 👍

Thank you Mitch :)
how much brighter is it than the 60DS?
I’d love a 300c… and I definitely want a 3 pack of the 80c’s, the 60’s I have come on every shoot with me
hey that reminds me of my Nanlite 60c
"If you remember the 60x from a long long time ago..." I guess 2020 may as well be the stone age to some people. I get it, tech moves fast, but geez.
Woahhh, no way, only 2020?! I must have gotten it pretty soon after launch because I swear it feels old to me now 😅
Time flies... I blame COVID
NGL I feel like the 60d/60x have been out for forever😂😂

A rep in Aputure's Instagram comments said a spotlight zoom attachment for the 80c is due out early next year!
Can't wait for that then! Thank you!
I'd like a 150c. The led lights are so much more powerful nowadays that you don't necessarily need a 300W fixture

BapMokja!
Hahah yes yes this is my niche :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Nice to see you got to play around with the fresnel! I guess Europe is a bit slower... 😅

It’s crazy what a quick google search or stroll thru b&w can do for us curious minds
Does it have built in CRMX?
Yes! It works very well
So cute~~~~😍🥰👍🏻
But you are more cute! 🥰
How’s it compare brightness levels to a 120d?
80C Bare Cob: 5,600K 1m 6,502 lux /604 fc
120d II Bare Cob: 5,500K 4700 lux @1m

@@BYCWELL wow a 120T!
That’s old school Aputure right there!!
@@AnotherCameraChannel I think he wanted to type 120d not 120t 😂
I watch this whole video before I realized I wouldn’t buy it. $599??😮😮😂😂
I feel you, it would be great if it was cheaper, but those CRMX chips and other fancy parts ain’t cheap I guess.
Forza60CR RIP 😅
For $599 give me a break.

Probably the cost of CRMX alone is like 100$ so I think it’s reasonably priced, but of course I do wish the price could be lower though!
Kept looking at that large fresnel in the back…
🤩🥹
still cant make the fresnel work properly.
What’s wrong? 🤔
@@AnotherCameraChannel you cant make decent cuts. Fresnels by design allow a tungsten unit to be cut and controlled.
Damn not bad for $599.
exactly!
