as an architecture major, that fit resonates with me SO MUCH. i’ve seen it a lot on pinterest and some people say it’s overdone.. i’d say it’s the perfect middle ground of business casual and cozy. that specific plaid pattern is also really trendy and we follow design trends in architecture too. you describing us as “minimal and chic” is also on point! sleep deprivation and constant deadlines can sometimes limit us from being fashionable but as a career still in the art field, this won’t stop us from expressing ourselves artistically through style as well. just my two cents because i really appreciated this! 🤍

It’s so funny because every architecture student I know is not minimalistic and dressed in the comfy and funky clothes they can find for all the late nights and all-nighters of model building (realistically I imagine the physics outfit for the architecture kid)

As a architecture major I can confirm that a lot of us like minimalist sleek cuts and structural pieces. Maybe it has to do with the fact that the type of architecture that is in trend right now is that minimalist style with a lot of white, huge windows, steel, wood and concrete.

Love this loobook idea! I'm in med school now, I love how doctors wear these polo neck shirts with sweaters on top and trousers, but I still try to figure out, what's the female version of it.
I know quite a few architecture grads, they all dress minimalist and gender neutral. Never flirty, always professional yet down to earth. Slightly artistic. Like turtlenecks + long pants with belts.
Previously I studied art for 10 years, and the outfit you chose was incredibly close. Add colourful hipster socks (art students LOVE ugly mid calf length socks, they make them feel cool) and a fringe that's cut too short, and you would have gotten it spot on. Also - cotton tights with A-line skirts. Shirts - anything striped.
Btw, know some biology students too. They really do go for khaki. Uncut hair, unshaved beards, like you're just back from 2 week backpacking trip in nature. : D Except maybe parkas instead of coats.
