The new blade used is No. 1006-400 (2-hole blade taper blades)* *Fits 8100 Solid Small, 8865 RMC, 8255 Pro-Basic and all Wahl full size professional clippers manufactured prior to June 1993. (Except 8500 Senior)
The one I am using now (the new blade), I find that it slides on the skin easier and also it pre-combs the hair. To me, it not only cuts faster but fades better. Other that that, it's my favourite and it looks cool. Lol!
I prefer using the taper blade myself on all my clippers including the seniors and magic clips. Fade comes out softer and you can fade faster aswell as you have less worry for snagging someone.
It's the same process. As long as the blade is compatible with the clipper, all you need to do is release the 2 screws that holds the blades and replace it with the blade you want to.
I’m changing my fade blade to a taper I had the fast feeds before and it had a tapered blade on it and my fades were better with that then the fade blade. The fade blade to me it seems like to use you need to be very skilled because even when I use guards I make a hard line just because of how the blade is made
I will take that as a compliment. However you do need a different technique for the different types of blade. I've been working with the new one I'm installing in the video for quite some time so I'm able to do all fades with it. But if you do a lot of clipper over comb, the fade blade is best for that because of the flatness.
It depends on how well you care for your blades and the amount of haircuts you do over a period of time. But, on average you should get at least 3 months from a blade.

The blade will start cutting less efficient, you will notice a lot of frizz. Then it will start snagging and feel like the clipper’s loosing power. Also it will vibrate a lot faster than it use to, often times it’s louder. Hope that helps
@@RattyTheBarber word! Ok thanks so that loud noise change is usually an indication that the blade needs to be changed more so than the machine needs to be cleaned?
@@Ratty_Suzuki_GSX-R750 thanks I'm self cutting, I'm black, I travel alot for work and I can never find a decent barbershop so I'm learning how cut my own. I thought about buying the gold masters with a tapered blade, with the wahl seniors and a fade blade, what's the advantage between a fade blade and a tapered blade in your opinion. I ordered the cordless seniors
I think it comes down to preference, but I'm able to fade faster and smoother with the new blade. I find that the old one is too thin so it drags the skin a lot.

Clean, clear and concise video. Love it! Keep em coming.
Thank you very much. 😊
Great video. Love the captions too. Many barbers just talk for 10 minutes and waste people's time.
Nice one ratty! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching. 😁
Easy tutorial. No words needed bro
easily the best tutorial on YT. straight to the point no nonsense chatting or wasting my time.
hope to see more of this!
Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot to me. 👍🏾
Quick and easy watch. Thanks bro
If the clipper drags the hair what do I do next?
I'm new to clippers, I'm more of a scissors over comb guy.
Cleeeeeean footage
It's all thanks to my Content Creator. You can see more of her work on IG - instagram.com/vsterling.photography/ 👍🏾
This is the second video that I've watch of yours and the captions are perfect bro. 🔥🔥🔥 How do you clean your tools? Will you make a video on that??
Yes, I'll be making a video as captions take a while to add - will be doing that soon.
Very clear tutorial 👌
How you find the difference, I’m used to the fast feed and they have a similar taper blade

Wow nice clipper
Thank you, and also for watching.
So how would I go about changing my black fx fade blade with a taper one
It's the same process. As long as the blade is compatible with the clipper, all you need to do is release the 2 screws that holds the blades and replace it with the blade you want to.
I did the same thing with mine just recently same blade to
How did you find it?
@@RattyTheBarber wym where did I get the blade from?
I got it from Wahl's UK website.
The link and the description of the blade is in the bio.
Thanks for watching!
Not sure why I watched this one... I don't even own a clipper 😂😂😂
Lol! Thanks for watching, but you have to watch all of them. That's kind of you. 😊
Lol!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
lol 😂
The new blade is much better than the blade the machine came? I’m just trying to change the blade cuz it’s not the best
Yes, that's correct. The new blade is better than the one it came with. It's better for fading and glides smoothly on the skin.
Did you manage to change the blade?
Ratty The Barber not until I search up and your video pop up! Where did you got the blade from cuz tbh the “ original “ is trash ol
Lol*
@@betomartinez7460 I agree. The original blade is not good.
I bought my new blade from here: www.wahl.co.uk/
Been looking for the number to the taper blade. Thanks.
You’re welcome.

Can't believe the views on this! A big well done to you ☺️
Thank you so much.🔥🇯🇲
How often do you change the blade? What do you recommend please?
It depends on how well you care for your blades and the amount of haircuts you do over a period of time. But, on average you should get at least 3 months from a blade.
Do you think I'd be able to fit the jrl curved teeth on a senior 5 star ?
I believe they should fit as they are the same size and run the same guards. Just double check the screw holes.

Does it open to a 1?
No it doesn't. It's from a 1/2 - 0.

@@kwameg.114 If you’ve cleaned and oil the blade and it’s still louder that normally and vibrates harder, you know for sure it’s the blade going bad.
Can I use guards on a fade blade
Yes you can use the same set of guards it comes with or any other guards that is made for that model of clippers.

This is the regular cordless senior right ? Not the 5 star one ?
No, it is the 5 star cordless version.
@@RattyTheBarber what taper blade can I use with the regular senior
@@Adam-vt3kr it should be the same size, check with your supplier before you buy it. Most of wahl clippers blades are compatible with each other.
It's the 5star with the black housing.
Isnt the old blade better to fade???
To me, it isn't but it really depends on your preference. Have you tried both blades?
I think it comes down to preference, but I'm able to fade faster and smoother with the new blade. I find that the old one is too thin so it drags the skin a lot.
What blade type bro?
It’s called a fade blade, but it’s and official wahl blade just the same.
