As a former signal cartel member, i salute you, and praise you for the good memories your video brought back. You know, i still keep my token from katia sae journey
I used to drag and rotate the scan probe cube via its arrows like that, but learned somewhere double-clicking is all you need. double clicking toggles between "top" and "side" views, which is all you need in order to position the scanner cube. You never have to use the arrows on the cubes in 3D, just use the planar toggle twice, dragging the cube twice, and hit Scan. Super quick. Also, had an "opportunity" to use Signal Cartel services about a year ago. First-rate outfit. Thanks for all this content. Cheers.
Glad you've enjoyed! Yes, double clicking works (and is normally what I do, but wanted to make it very clear as a newb - but I should have explained) same as I have probe scan size up and down mapped to [ and ] for speed 😊
As previously mentioned, Signal Cartel is one of the most ethical corporations in Eve Online. Are there any others? Corporations or alliances who try to improve New Eden instead of (as the saying goes) "mining salt"? As for content, this gives an old fogey a desire to explore! Never been to Thera, barely gone into wormholes. This is interesting!
I would love to see more of this content. This gives me a look at how the game could have looked like and I'm appreciating the time you take to discuss this stuff.
Do people still pretty aggressively attack you? Or do they offer some bit of deference when you’re passing through systems because of who you work with?
When I was in Signal Cartel (now in my own corp) there were several occasions where I got caught in a gate camp, then let go with a "Oh, SC! Fly safe! o7"
Hey man I'm kinda late to the vid but it was very helpful as I've done a ton of exploration on my Astero and I was thinking of joining Signal Cartel. Didn't really have a clear image of what Thera actually was as I've never been there but I now see how useful it is since the difficult part about exploration loot is taking it back to Jita to sell it as you can get killed in the process. Having Thera at your disposal means you could get to Jita or close to Jita by using the wormhole bookmarks shared in the EVE-Scout folder, right? I think that's crazy because it's hard for me to find a WH that actually leads to Highsec and even if I find one it has to be somewhat close to Jita or at least be able to get there through Highsec systems. I've been popped many times trying to get there because there was a Lowsec system that I had to go through. Anyway good vid man
Wow me and my friend we were just talking the other day of finding a corp that fits us. We don't pvp, we love helping other people (have been doing it for the last 25 years+ has guild leaders) and we want to explore all that Eve has to offer. And for that we need to move out of high sec. We are bilingual Canadians, so we can help with the french stuff too 😅. So I was wandering if a 2 man corp (with alts) could be part of the alliance?
Is there some mining and PI possible in this lifestyle? I like to build stuff in EE with my own resources - mainly for my own use. Would like this kind of flexibility to go to random places and explore but still keep my production up. Like traveling industrialist, explorer and trader
@@captainbenzie that’s great. Just finally had about a hour to play. Still try to get a hang on the difference between EE and EO. Now try the Agency missions. I love the EO skill tree, why’s they would have copied it in EE
Has scanning and the data relic mini game changed at all in recent years? I haven’t actively played EO since the original world war bee and am curious if it’s the same methods and mechanics.
Such play style looks quite interesting to me. Really sad we don't have all this in Echoes. I'm still curious why devs made impossible to go to different systems through Nihilus spaces. Also, I want to know, what do you think about adding directional scanning to Echoes?
@@captainbenzie still, exploration in Echoes are much more scarce compared to EO. Here's my ideas on how devs can improve it: 1) give us ability to travel through Nihilus spaces to different parts of New Eden just like through WH in EO. This would open the way for roamers, making nulls more dangerous 2) make all NS have random type, lvl and amount of gates no matter where the entrance spawned. This would make possible to spawn hig-null passes or quite safe dead end NS with single gate. 3) make all NS look completely same from outside. Currently, when you see low lvl NCS, you'll don't even bother to check it and just ignore, since you know it's completely useless. But If we'll need to actually get inside to confirm what kind of NS it's, it'll make exploration more exciting and create more chances for unexpected encounters. 4) add limited lifetime for NS and something like stabilization device inside of each NS, which can be destroyed to collapse this space even without clearing everything inside of it or waiting until it'll disappear by it's own. To make it less risky, there must be delay between device destruction and actual collapse to give pilots some time to get out of it safely. Otherwise, they'll lose ships just like in EO abysses. Also, such devices should be quite durable to make it's destruction require decent amount of time or help from several friends. I doubt that devs will make exactly like I suggested, but I hope for at least some kind of improvements. And yes, this changes are quite similar to how WH works in EO, since I think that such concept would be much better than current Nihilus spaces
@@captainbenzie same for me.. But I wish the exploration in echoes would be more interesting.. It's much simple but.. Just lack the interesting factor that eve online has..

Thank you for this video Benzie! Since viewing this video for the first time, I have joined Signal Cartel. I am loving the WH life. :)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing this. Exploring Eve is so rewarding. Really hope Echoes adds stuff to explore and check out like Eve has.
I'm actually stranded and waiting at the moment, hopefully they find me soon.
It's been 9 months, are you still in need of assistance?

brilliant video, but needs moar dscan ^_^

A blast from the distant past… thx for that. Of course none if it existed over a decade ago 😉

SC is great, thought about joining but I only scan for profit and help out in rookie help, so I don't think I'd really be much of an asset.
To be fair, sounds like you'd fit well with us in Catskull 😉
