I stopped playing EVE about a year ago. I was doing a lot of mining in WH space and would only go in with a Venture with the cheapest additions possible. I would first go in with a Stratios and scan everything down - trigger the the sleeper ratts - then kill them and loot them and come back to mine. Did a lot of gas harvesting this way.
I speed tanked two Sleeper frigates and a cruiser with an Endurance and killed them with drones without them even scratching my armor and mined 7M ISK worth of Krystalos. Then I got jumped by a Hecate and warped away, the dude even typed HOW? in the chat lol. It was the most fun I've had in EVE in a while even for a measly reward. It's all about fun/hr not isk/hr to me
This will be great. I just came back to Eve, and I decided to pop into wormholes and "ninja" gas mine. And I want to learn what else an Alpha can do inside wormholes. I look forward to the series.
Great reminder of how long the learning curve is for eve, we use so many specialized terms that new players just don't know. Thanks for sharing your insights
Its one of the few friendly with stranger areas left in eve . Its great randomly being invited to get boosts and good price ore buy backs . Eves strengths are when strangers come together like in the triglavian invasion . Now its back to kb worship again .
Yea, the friendliness of high sec ice belts are amazing. I never charged for my boosts or compression out in the belts, yet people kept trying to give me isk for it.
Cool stuff, looking forward to the wormhole Content. Agree with peeps glossing over stuff thinking everyone knows etc, I am massively guilty for that 100% although I tend to keep my content not really for new bros but its definitly something I could do better with, good call pointing it out, humbling actually. Keep up the good work man o/
Wormhole content is going to start next week, hopefully! Yea it’s insanely easy to gloss over stuff because you already know it. My next video which is coming Friday, kinda goes into the small details a lot of people tend to overlook, hopefully that is useful for newer players.
Did some Icemining a few years back , usually only enough to keep my stations fueled up , i always thought the icemining a bit more exiting than normal mining , just because you usually share the icebelts with many other iceminer and you get to know some of them in time ,so you have somebody to chat , also there wasnt a single day, with a few ganker attacks ,so you always had to be with one eye on lokal
Great concept for some videos. It's definitely a needed niche for new people coming to the game. A lot of guidance content gets dated pretty quickly between tweaks they've done over the years or ui changes and things, it's even useful for returning players for that matter. I can't remember his name, but he was, and maybe still is, one of the richest players in the game. He observed something pretty profound about starting out as a new player: most people will "stay where they started." It's a bit of a curse for new players. Often times people will mine for example because it's easy and low risk and relatively moderate reward, with the goal of funding other things later on, like pvp. This is a mistake, or at least sort of a trap. Often people will hear about thebpvo and be drawn to pvp, but then regret feeling like they have to go mining, just as an example. The advice there is go pvp, even in a Corvette. The experience gained is priceless. That player himself got immediately into trading and found himself very quickly in Jita, and if I remember right he said he basically never left. But that start is what gave him the skills and exploited his own passion to keep doing what he was doing, and he enjoyed it as thrived, and later was being interviewed by other players and had some in game fame for it. Just an interesting take. It's basically, don't hold yourself back, be willing to explore and adapt and look at the game differently and be open to mastering some little niche that you enjoy, and there's no better time than now for everything.
I started streaming EVE Online in March 2015 and was amazed at how many capsuleers stopped by to give me tips, ISK, killed me, and then became friends. I am sure your adventure on UA-cam will be about the same way but bigger even. Enjoy it!
Yea bud, I've had a lot of people reach out to me in the last week, wanting to be added to contacts, corp etc. Its definitely not something I imagined would happen, so I'm just rolling with it, day by day.
Wormholes are amazing, but as with nullsec alliances, there are a few big WH corps that controll all C6 and C5's so ... its either join them or know that you will be evicted at some point. ( I used to do evictions with a top WH corp myself) C5 site running is amazing isk and the prep is also quite unique with rolling wormholes and having scouts, using dreds for sleeper sites.( I think you can do them with blinged marauders now)
Very similar to incursions. You can make 100m/hour, or 200m/hour in good fleet and you love that but after that, once the fleet is gone or if there is no fleet during that day I just had nothing to do.
Every resource I'm looking at when it comes to market values shows Kernite being worth more than even the highest value ice; am I missing something here?
Hey man, do you have any suggestions of what to do with an orca? ive had one sitting around for ages collecting dust and im a WH player (ofc no orca in WH space) ive dabbled in ice/moon goo but neither ever sell (My orca pilot sadly can fly exhummers and my alt only barges, i also have another alpha acc i can multibox but thats no real use in mining). Only idea i have now is trig hunting then mining the ore surrounding the trig wormhole but i have no idea how that works, i go to school and gas huffing in two ventures is my go to, but something to spice it up wont hurt as ill be able to sustain myself ratting c4/3's. Thankyou!
Tbh, for a while I used the Orca on my main, with my second account in a retriever mining ice. Only done that in systems that I knew was mostly safe. If you're looking to mine, fit the orca for compressing ice, and boosting fleets, you can make serious amount of isk by getting your second account in a retriever mining while your orca boosts and compresses the ice. This way if the system is safe, you can stay out in the ice belt for as long as possible
dont mine as a new player its the worst isk making on low skills, you can do T0 abyssal deadspace runs that will yield you more isk since day 1... if you want isk try exploration on data and relic sites in null and wh space, staying in hisec will not give you consistent amounts of isk can also be done since day 1 on an alpha account
That's very true, but there are a lot of people that enjoy the the semi afk aspect of mining. It definitely does to me, when Im in work, and can't really be putting in the time to do activities that require a lot of input.
If you have the right skills, you can make money in high sec. I make more money on my skiff mining and processing than I can in my Catalyst doing T2 missions. Selling the ore outright makes zero money, but processing the ore and selling that makes a lot. T2 missions pay nothing by comparison. I'm currently training towards ice processing so that I can start processing that too. I'm an Omega player running a Skiff which has the smallest mining hold of all the barges and exhumers. I still make good money.
The one bad thing about mining is how non interactive it is. I think in the day of 2023 gaming, new players just find mining so boring. The other downside that I see, is the fleets of multiboxers. It appears the game is more populated than it really is. Friend and I was mining yesterday and a fleet jumped in and slowly started mining. You could tell it was multiboxed cause only 1 ship at a time started mining.
Completely agree. I only mine when I'm working, the non interactive playstyle of mining suits me during that time. I get that fleet thing, it's becoming a problem, right now, Im currently in an Ice belt, and this belt has become over run with a person using an orca and then has like 6 accounts follow him about. Highly annoying, but we press on when working :)
This sounds good. Im a ice miner my self with 5 alts. I know its a little boring, but The isk is good with 3000 ice aday. Plz call me in game if you want ( Arina Satter) And I will wait for new vids to come out. Keep up The Great work 👍👍👍
Interesting Very Inspirefull video !! Many Thanks ! Keep going !!! Different areas and chance to show yourself , abit a right time to be :) that moment where you feel like new player and years passed .....then prolly isk will came but for 3 years in place where it made me :) players still think mostly for isk ;))) they got billions, trillions ....and a only few ships to fly :((((( ...then the Bigger is the Beter . o/

In my experience, the terms that the regular players use that mean absolutely nothing to the newer players can be very overwhelming for some.
