- Today we'll be using a limited palette of (mostly) two colors, red and blue, for a fantasy-inspired watercolor bird painting. Come relax or paint with me as I talk about what any of this has to do with a book about time travelling super agents, poetic letters that are the best examples of purple prose, and looking fate straight in the eyes and giving it a good punch because love is love is love.

I've always loved to watch people paint, but you bring the process to a level I've not seen before. Your brush strokes are... musical. I'm not sure how else to say it, but it's as if your strokes are dancing the painting to life. This is the first video of yours that I've viewed. It won't be the last.
Your two-color painting videos are interesting. After seeing the other one of sienna and gray, I got the same colors to try. I hope you have time to make another video like this in the near future.
This artwork reflects poetry in style. There is a lyrical harmony in the composition - the blue circle resembles a mirror amulet, referring perhaps symbolically to the prose that gave you inspiration. This minimalist watercolor concept is beautiful to look at, I hope you shall continue to delight your viewers with other similar paintings - and your words "...looking fate straight in the eyes and giving it a good punch because love is love is love." absolutely nails it. The World really needs more of this kind of attitude!

I just love the red and blue combination and there are so many possible shades and tones. They are colours that you need to know how to work with them, a bit hard for a beginner. Beautiful work.

Beautiful! Some of my favorite and best paintings are limited palette. I think values are almost more important than color and when I do limited palette it forces me to really think about the values and tonal quality.
layering any color
This reminds me of Daniel Smith colors cerulean blue chromium and iridescent scarab red, which also look good together (but ISR has a shimmer). I like perelene green, it's always on my palette. I'll have to give perelene red another look. Thanks for sharing. It was also nice to see a short real time painting.
I just love this painting and the color scheme you used. I also got the book you mentioned from the library . Please do more like this or using another 2 color scheme. To me they truly are peaceful. I can't wait to try this one.

I love the way you paint. I like your blue and red composition. I saw one from another artist using burnt sienna and payne's grey. They were beautiful. What brand is your paintbrush for this video? You get it to do a lot of things. I once made my living with a paintbrush, painting animation cels, back in the early '70s. My brush was very versatile. A #2 Brumbscher, I think.
