I love how they keep the old traditions alive just fantastic to watch
It's incredible - it's passed on down through the generations and you see kids all taking part too. It was rather errie though.
The same with clowns. They were supposed to be fun and good intended, but used with slightly wrong context and people will find it hard to rub false images off.

Those costumes already existed in Spain since 9th century. Those hats were put on criminals and people captured by the inquisition as a sign of humilliarion, that Is why in holy week (penitence) this processions take place, with these costumes, as a sign of humilliarion and inferiority concerning the divine... It had nothing to do with racism or violence. Actually, catholizism always fostered the mixture of cultures and bloodlines, that IS why latino countries are mestizos (mixture of several "races") while the USA remained segregated. English colons would not mix theory Blood with other races, that IS why "bride ships" continuosly arrived from Europe. I Hope you learned something new out of the hegemonic american discourse!!

This tradition goes back hundreds of years, with deep religious roots and can be said to be a celebration of life. The KKK has absolutely nothing to do with this tradition - essentially they adopted the dress but that’s where the similarities lie.
