Good morning katherine, I adore vintage luxury. The fashion of late is Ugly. I do not love Ugly. My last new bag is a 2017 Louis Vuitton. If someone pressures me, I turn off, thank them and leave.

My pre-loved to new ratio is beginning to widen, 6 pre-loved to 3 new. I don’t like the pressure of in store shopping when it comes to the higher price points, and even though I can pay full price I don’t;t want to AND I enjoy the sport of a good bargain on a unique bag:)
More than anything, I love the variety and selection of preloved. Glad to hear that it's not just me!
I hate all the drama and sales reps attitude. If I purchase something new I will browse in store make a decision .. wait a while then order online. I just like folks to keep it real and in store sometimes it feels soo fake.

I love all shopping, new, pre loved, in person, online, if it means buying stuff, I'm in. I have a $150 Chanel skirt that I bought preloved that makes me feel like a 1940s femme fatale and a new classic flap that my Chanel SA knew meant I wouldn’t be able to afford to visit her again until next year. I love it when my SA says you look amazing! but I love it more when she gets that look in her eye that says honey don't do it. Retail therapy is a real thing for me, whether it's new or new to me, I love it all...and that includes fast fashion too (ducks to avoid tomatoes) 😂🙈

….ps I also do engage in some fast fashion. I don’t feel like it’s worth it for me to spend a bunch of money on clothing. I’m typically not doing huge hauls, but a new top or dress here and there is a part of my routine 🤷🏽♀️
I love pre-loved bags because I can now buy the purses, I couldn't afford like 20yrs ago. I am going to Europe in 2024 and I plan on buying new Loewe, my fave.

I usually go preloved for discontinued items, vintage pieces or ones that have a really low resale value.
I go brand new if there’s a low chance of me finding it preloved or I just want the bag so much that I don’t have enough patience to wait for it to pop up in the preloved market.
I LOVE THE HUNT, though! It’s a rush… 😅
Now, however, I’m really really happy with what I own… only 1 left in my wish list but that’s still a bit far off…

I purchased two coin purses from Fashionphile this year. One coin purse was hard to find in that style and color, so I decided to buy it. Everything else was purchased new starting in 1998. Some of my items would be considered vintage.
Being as most of my clothes I buy second hand, the 3 luxury handbags I own are also second hand. I can't imagine paying full price for something I can get for hundreds less. And since I work in the resale market, I'm helping support small businesses like myself.
Also, when I worked retail I refused to fawn over people. I was always ready and willing to provide good customer service, but I was always honest and never followed people around unless they wanted my help. I hate that, so I didn't want to do it to others.
Same! My sales style is the same as my UA-cam style. I just supply honest useful and practical information and leave the customer to decide for themselves! It’s basic decency and respect.

Also, it feels like the luxury retail world has fallen down on the job of creating a "luxurious" experience. IF, and a gigantic IF at that, I were going to go and burn money at retail prices, I don't want to be treated like shit cause Im not buying a stupid amount of bags throughout the year. Like where is the luxury retailers appreciation for folks buying anything from them at all?? It doesn't leave a good taste in your mouth as a customer, ya know??
Also, the excitement of the hunt for vintage jems cannot be denied!! That's a feeling I want to return to!

Wonderful video…..🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻preloved is the way to go for me…… also, my clients who used to purchase new are no more, as they say quality is lacking, and many design houses they are focusing on smaller less detailed bags….yet prices are ridiculous they tell me………one client said she sold all of her Hermes, bought a car and now only buys Dooney and Bourke bags, she said quality is same if not better and sooooo much more affordable……also if you could answer this a client asked me if I knew how preloved stores authenticate the newly chopped bags from Louis Vuitton and Chanel?
Buying a car off of bag money is CRAZY! but I'm sure that if were to sell a few of mine I'd probably be on my way to a used car as well.
And to answer your question: LV authentication has become more difficult with the removal of date stamps, however date stamps are not the only data point we look for to assess authenticity. We still have to look for things like font stamping, hardware, material quality and other sensory things that you can only get with experience like feel and smell and knowing the merchandise. There is a lot that goes in to authentication!

Yes. To everything. I've seen better hardware on cheap Korean knockoffs than on the actual Chanel purses. Why anyone is buying pre 2018 Chanel purses is beyond me.

I really got annoyed when i wanted to buy purses at LV and the manager and SA told me, it was just selling it in the preloved marked should i regret the purchase. They didnt want to mention the 30 day exchange days and really undermined the stress of selling plus loss of value in the preloved marked. Also the boutique could black list you if you exchange too much, and at Hermes you cannot exchange the purses for quota bags....etc read the fine print on their site.
Yes that's super annoying. I'm sure the reason the SA would say that is so they can hold on to their commission for the sale.
THAT SAID: People absolutely do abuse retailer's return policies. I've seen crazy stuff over the years. You'd be surprised
I have only purchased 10 new bags in the last two years.Ive purchased more than 25 bags preloved in the last two years. I purchased a Alma BB a few weeks ago I told the SA don't give me a used bag . What did they do to give me a used bag. SA who was the manager tried me . I called customer service for someone in the district to call me back I haven't heard anything yet. That bag was purchased at 5 drive home and back by 5:38 I'm never shopping there anymore.
Honestly, I don’t think that I gave enough spotlight on this one point: I’m not the type to fixate on one Designer, I have always liked variety, and I don’t want to be head to toe especially when sporting logos

No way!! How can they start cheaping out on PERFUME?? It has literally the highest margin of any luxury good - it's mostly water!! Ugh.
Finding the great deal and the rare find is what we love, the mall and retail stores will never give us that satisfaction. I want a great beautiful product at a great price that no one else has, we throughly research the bag and we search for it at below retail. We are the upscale hunter gathers lol

My philosophy is everything goes on sale one way or another. If I’m paying more than $100 for anything, I don’t want to be dealt with bad customer service. I have 2 new and 2 preloved luxe bags.
Not only does it go on sale - about 80-90% the time rare items will come back around

I’m fine with thrifting most of my vintage luxury handbags have found every brand from Louis Vuitton to bvgari to Giorgio armani❤ and Chanel shoes….they can have the new retail luxury handbags lol I’ll stick to Thrifting.
Miami Thrifting has not been good for me! It's fine if I'm looking for fast fashion or clothes (I guess) but there aren't many options and it's very picked over. I'm not a fan.
