‘When It Ends’ from The Wild Party

I once had a performing arts teacher who said: “Music is everything”. I don’t know if anyone reads these descriptions anymore but, I must agree. For some of us, it is our very reason for being. It motivates most people to get up, get active, to enjoy and to socialise. A realisation I made very recently was that despite my love of acting, I must say that I adore singing. I’m a performer because my favourite thing in the world to do is to entertain others. Doesn’t mean I’m the greatest or the worst at it, it simply means that it’s something I enjoy doing. It’s an outlet. I have a funny feeling that music means something similar to you. Now, down to brass tacks: This is ‘When It Ends’ from the musical The Wild Party, with music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa. If you don’t know the story of the two The Wild Party musicals, I suggest looking into it, it’s a fascinating part of modern theatrical history.
