Thank you so much for this great video. Very accurate questions and concrete, precise answers. I think I've learned a lot, focused a lot. Hope to put it on the table next time I play.
this is pretty next level in terms of quality of explanation and insight view! thanks a lot. i'm a amateur player playing 3rd swiss league, but i profit from these videos tremendously!
Yes I want to fill the gap there seems to be a lot of beginner to hobby player video information but a lack of information above that. So I’m trying haha thanks for watching and best of luck.
@@PechPongTT agree completely. As i went through the yt videos i saw a lot of very basic instructions. Like focusing on pure mechanics with no adaptations or lack of very basic things like point of contact when hitting a backspin ball for example. But as i known just judged by percentage of players, the vast majority of all tt players are in this skill bracket. Not many players above a certain skill bracket are even using yt as a tool to get better, because they a) have a professional training setup with coaches etc (which i dont) or b) they play for that long (10y+) that they think, they dont need it. Your style of vids are kind or a niesche thing, but nonetheless a very useful one!
@@janosch7210 you make a good point I’ve talked with many players who are considered higher level and they feel they do not need to look on UA-cam for advice. I have been able to target the younger generation who is rapidly getting better as they are looking on YT for advice so I’ve had a few players who are now high level come by and say thanks for the advice. Which is a good thing hopefully the trend continues :)
@@PechPongTT Fantastic! Also an idea for a future video: Tips to help intermediate players around 1500-1800 (I'm 1730) to break out of the Intermediate range and get to the Advanced level around 2000. We know we will never be semi-pros, but we still want to get better!
The ball stays longer on the racket or rolls up the face of the racket. Lots of friction and dwell time. If you hit the ball flat it has very little dwell time going In and out quickly you want to drag the ball on the rubber.
Man, I found your channel; and finished all your videos already, so good you post again 👏 😀 👍!!!! Keep it going I still rewarch your videos because there nothing bett on UA-cam to watch tbh:). Nice Video!!!! 🏓 Does anyone can help? I often face opponents who do these serves to the wide forehand, but much faster than shown in the Video. I can‘t read the Spin because of the Speed. What can i do? For me the trajectoty is the same between down and upspin.
Same problem here! I feel like I'm maybe too close to the table, but then again, if I go further I have trouble getting to the short serve. Any helping thoughts?
its need to made racket the handle down-- and hold to more at finish handle --so it will not needed bend wrist BEND DOWN . and play thiw WRIST ...much more diferent kick .. if wrist and hand -- DOUBLE speed of boll..rocket made quadrate -from all raber ..20 prc more place.. handle not round -- quadrate and place a bitt made for fingers.
yes both are made to make the opponent hit the ball long, one person from the comments said it nicely kick serve is when the spin on the ball makes the ball jump faster when it hits the opponents side of the table where a topspin serves topspin doesnt increase the speed of the ball once it hits the opponents side of the table.
My opinion is that a kick serve is a top spin serve where the second bounce is higher than normal as its slowing down. This is made by giving a higher spin rotation and a slower speed through the serve. I'd say basic topspin would normally be faster and a lower second bounce as it hasnt had a chance to slow down.
@@PechPongTT can you do a tutorial on this serve? I did a youtube search and there aren't many. Also Im not understanding why the 2nd bounce will be higher than usual given the topspin, because by physics I think the topspin will cause the ball to naturally bounce with a lower trajectory off the table no matter what the speed?
I wouldn't make it too complicated and say kick = topspin. The "kick" is achieved by giving topspin, so for me it's the same thing but expressing cause and effect. Perhaps "kick" refers to deep heavy topspin serves, while a slow short topspin serve would not be called "kick". But that's again making it needlessly complicated.
