Band playing too loud? That’s your sound board operator’s fault for not balancing things on the fly, not your band mates. I think that reasoning is just an excuse for whatever Perry and/or his voice are going through
I was gonna say back in the day the lead guitarist always does sound check at volume 7 so that there are room to get louder. But the sound guy should be adjusting as they go......
Perry is pissed about the stage volume, not the PA volume. Stage volume allows everyone to hear themselves, and each other, to keep things somewhat in sync, and in key. But if Perrys' voice is going, there's not much lowering the stage volume can do to fix it.
@@hanshotfirst6617 so you’re saying they use stage monitors speakers (still controlled by the board operator but each member could ask for theirs to be raised too much I reckon)or a mic’ed amplifier stage setup for the guitars and Perry is complaining about them being set too loud? I just don’t see Dave or Eric turning their amps up on the fly during a show unless they were really trying to cover up Perry’s vocal issues. As you said, lowering that stage volume isn’t going to be able to do but so much.
How can Yoko claim to have a "first person account". She wasn't on stage. And from the footage it doesn't seem like anyone but Perry was trowing punches.
I'm in the minority on this. I love it. Rock needs more of this. Janes shoukd have ended it in 91 like that wanted to and remained legends..but no they come back, commercialsize and become crap. This so called elbow push- fight was finally something exciting from them. Rock is supposed to be edgy. I love it.
Perry's "ability" has diminished significantly and he lashed out. The volume was loud to drown out Perry's voice....also..brothers fight...believe me..I have 8 brothers.
let's be honest, Perry always sang in this super high register where he was always sort of throwing his voice at you, shouting w./e...and even in his prime, he was always just on the edge...at his age now and state he's in? Same song keys? Maybe the greatest natural vibrato I've evr heard next to Robin Gibb but , a man's got to know his limitations
Sounds like Perry has been stinking up the tour so the band tried to drown out his bad performances with higher volume and Perry took exception. Also, Perry's wife's account was about as fair and impartial as could be given that her husband was involved in this. She sounds like a nice person.
I bet Perry joined Scientology, had a baby with Dave Grohl and talked someone out of jumping off a bridge the same night. That's par for the Rock N Roll course these days. Jeeze.
With in ear monitors, you can set your individual mix in your ears. Shouldn't affect your voice as they are noise cancelling. Perry's voice is most likely diminishing at the age of 65. He needs to realize this that he may not be able to sing the songs in the same key that they were written.
Problems with the sound balance is something an adult handles by TALKING to the sound techs about it...not by attacking one of your band mates out of the blue. So either Perry has OTHER problems and his wife is trying to make excuses for him or Perry is a childish old man with logic and anger issues.
He was already breaking down and lashing out to random members in the band and audience before attacking Dave and it looks like he attacked Dave being closest to him and Dave not initially making eye-contact being screamed at seemed to set Perry off further. Of course I have no clue about anything else that may have been leading up to it, but to me it seems to be a substance propelled rage not being able to perform with a broken voice and not hitting a single note, seeing the underwhelming response in the audience. Doesn't look pretty
So… long time fan here… Perry’s voice has always sounded great when recorded in a studio… but has never sounded good live. Ever. And that excuse of… he can’t hear himself over the band… well there’s a thing called a sound guy, and in-ear monitors… in which Perry could have any mix of the instruments he wants… So… my take is that this is something else… like hard drugs, dementia or just an inflated ego… but Yoko’s explanation of the incident doesn’t add up.
Not in the top 5000? Lunacy. u bein silly In his prime he had what every single vocalist wishes they had, an instantly recognizable voice, with rectumloads of character and innovative delivery. Downright bizarre at times. Nobody sounded like that back then. But if range and stereotypical technique is your only criteria, ya, he's not "great". Neither was Elvis. Or Sinatra. Or Cobain. Or the queen of eccentric delivery Bjork. Like them or not, no one sounds like them. And that's a whole lot more important, interesting, relevant, and timeless than being a singer with textbook technique.
Perry's wife inexplicably writing "Dave still looked handsome & cool in the middle of a fight"? Yeah this one's easy asf: -Perry is abusing drugs/alcohol -Perry's wife & Dave are also having an affair There's literally no "mystery" here lol
Perry’s ego is ocean sized. Always has been. What a sad old diva. Dave’s stafe volume was drowning out Perry’s monitor mix. (Probably cause he couldn’t bear to hear perrry’s out of tune vocals for another night. Whatever magic Perry had for a brief moment in the 80s had been nowhere ti be found since 1990. Dude should crawl back under see his rock.
Oooo someone had a go at Perry after the show… wow. Whatever the real reason, Perry couldn’t keep it together and did what he did. Dave was obviously there doing what was there to do and without a doubt the professional and better man
Farrell is an egomaniac and takes 75% of royalties because he wrote the lyrics. I have always thought that the musicians in the band are excellent especially Dave Navarro 👍

It’s 2024… man, they have the experience, support and budget… “too loud”? There’s the technology, crew, and plenty of stuff to remedy those problems, they must have rehearsed, must have done preproduction, and the guy is one of the owners of one of the biggest festivals…. How come this is the way he deals with things..? you can clearly hear his grunts during the guitar solo even tho’ he is not doing it directly on the mic… is kind of crazy his wife is basically gaslighting the fans on socials with pure nonsense, Perry…man up and get help…
"Loud stage volume" is a cop out. Im sure he can afford an IEM rig of some sort. If he doesn't want to do that, then earplugs can help you hear yourself. There's no way he couldn't have figured anything out.

Thank you for making this video. I hope they can sort it out. I should have seen them back in the 90s, but I'm hoping the show will go on in Toronto on Wednesday.
I love these guys, since 1987 as a senior in high school. Seen them three times live. This is sad! Your fans and you are getting old. Your four have a gift. Take a break, regroup, grow up, and if you four are done, do it the right way!
When Perry was asked why he did it, he simply replied, "Just Because".
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jane said he should 😅
Lmfao
Jane says
Ahh, I see what you did there, lmfao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It’s drug/alcohol behavior for sure
Bro, you do such an amazing job hosting this channel. Always articulate facts and deliver the story in an honest and laid back way. High five brother
At least when EVH and DLR fought they kept it backstage in the dressing rooms 🙄
Band playing too loud? That’s your sound board operator’s fault for not balancing things on the fly, not your band mates. I think that reasoning is just an excuse for whatever Perry and/or his voice are going through
Yeah it’s a complete BS
I was gonna say back in the day the lead guitarist always does sound check at volume 7 so that there are room to get louder. But the sound guy should be adjusting as they go......
What a load of bollocks?? 😂
3:14 Dave’s face is like TF DUDE 😂
How can Yoko claim to have a "first person account".
She wasn't on stage.
And from the footage it doesn't seem like anyone but Perry was trowing punches.
Sound man failed his job by not raising the mic volume. Unless Dave can raise the sound Perry owes him and the fans a huge apology and refund.
I love it.
Jane's was one of my favorite bands in Nothings Shocking days. Now Perry is a pathetic old man and Dave spent millions on cosmetic surgery.
Perry's "ability" has diminished significantly and he lashed out. The volume was loud to drown out Perry's voice....also..brothers fight...believe me..I have 8 brothers.
Perry Ferrell couldn’t shoulder check a rag doll hard. 😂
let's be honest, Perry always sang in this super high register where he was always sort of throwing his voice at you, shouting w./e...and even in his prime, he was always just on the edge...at his age now and state he's in? Same song keys? Maybe the greatest natural vibrato I've evr heard next to Robin Gibb but , a man's got to know his limitations
Sounds like Perry has been stinking up the tour so the band tried to drown out his bad performances with higher volume and Perry took exception. Also, Perry's wife's account was about as fair and impartial as could be given that her husband was involved in this. She sounds like a nice person.
Tension + umpteenth bottle of red wine = Jane’s break/Perry needs rehab in more ways than one. Hope he gets help! Dave was a class act on this one!
I bet Perry joined Scientology, had a baby with Dave Grohl and talked someone out of jumping off a bridge the same night. That's par for the Rock N Roll course these days. Jeeze.
Good one😂
😂😂😂
Nothing's Shocking
Video starts @3:03
Fans deserve better.This is sad.
260.00 per ticket! Times have changed or it has been. Big reason why I don't go anymore. I hope they resolve their issues. Love you JA!
I would want to fight people too if I was such a horrible vocalist. 🤦🤷
Ferrell looks sick af. He looks totally emaciated. Hope he’s ok
Appears to me that Perry underestimated whether he could still perform on a tour, aside from any other issues he has.
overestimated
With in ear monitors, you can set your individual mix in your ears. Shouldn't affect your voice as they are noise cancelling. Perry's voice is most likely diminishing at the age of 65. He needs to realize this that he may not be able to sing the songs in the same key that they were written.
That sucks😢I love Jane's Addiction💃💃
Washed up band and he looks like my stalker ex. This clip is hilarious though, he's trying so hard to be 😎
Perry Farrell dude it wasn't Dave's fault for bad Audio engendering - If you can't sing don't create a tour..
The band has nothing to do with the stage volume
Watch Dave’s left hand as he turns the guitar down as Perry’s pushing him to avoid feedback. I think Dave still plays through an amp on stage
Band has nothing to do with PA sound . front of house Controls that
I remember the good ole days when Perry and Dave would tongue kiss in the middle of songs. The love is gone! SNIFF!
You can’t believe ANYTHING Etty Farrell says.
Jane’s Addiction is an amazing band, but honestly, it required another singer long ago, a real one
Perry's beautiful full head of hair is the only thing saving him from looking like a walking corpse.
I would never consider Perry to be a great vocalist even in my top 5000 of great rock singers
Not a good vocalist. But a great artist and visionary
@@aegisreflector1239this. He's the best worst frontman. Up there with Diamond Dave.
Not in the top 5000?
Lunacy. u bein silly
In his prime he had what every single vocalist wishes they had, an instantly recognizable voice, with rectumloads of character and innovative delivery.
I understand that his voice is an acquired taste, but like Axl Rose, Dave Mustaine and Billy Corgan, it's unique and you recognize that it's him.
Avery probably ready to go back to touring with Garbage.
Everybody's stressed out and this was him breaking down I think
These guys still know how to rock.
Perry, Just Admit It.
that's not a brawl, not even close. God I miss Punk.
Perry's wife inexplicably writing "Dave still looked handsome & cool in the middle of a fight"? Yeah this one's easy asf:
-Perry is abusing drugs/alcohol
-Perry's wife & Dave are also having an affair
There's literally no "mystery" here lol
That doesn't mean they're having an affair.
@@theroachden6195 Bless your heart 🫠
someone Comments on someones appearance.
this guy: tHeY ArE FkN!
I’m glad I got to see them in Florida August 31. Best concert I’ve ever been to.
280 a ticket to see a has been band get real
$280 is insane. lol
Dude should crawl back under see his rock.
video starts at 2:24
Oooo someone had a go at Perry after the show… wow.
Whatever the real reason, Perry couldn’t keep it together and did what he did.
Dave was obviously there doing what was there to do and without a doubt the professional and better man
Yoko doesn't know what she's talking about. It's on video. Dude acted like he had dementia.
Farrell is an egomaniac and takes 75% of royalties because he wrote the lyrics. I have always thought that the musicians in the band are excellent especially Dave Navarro 👍
And everyone wanted an oasis reunion. We clearly can’t even handle a Jane’s addiction reunion. Can’t wait to see the celebrity death match show they’re gonna put on on stage next year.
Who cares what that Yoko Ono look alike thinks.
Avery was waiting to throw those uppercuts for over 20yrs 😂😂😂
Wasn’t a brawl it was Perry having a hissy fit!! Needs rehab or help or something! Always has been a wingnut seek help! Navarro was cool all during all this! Props
Somebody said that Perry has been on some sort of substance and not performing very well
Watch the clips of the concert. Farrell was belligerent throughout the set leading up to this. It is a shame given they finally reunited.
Indeed. The problem is Perry Farrell acting like a child, not the "stage volume"
You should Google tinnitus
He's using IN EAR Monitors, you can see them in his ears, that's his ignorant wife's excuse trying to cover for him.
the mix is also on the sound guy not Dave or the rest of the band...
It's an excuse... and a lame one.
perry is way too old to be behaving like this. i was a heroin addict, too. i quit when i was 29 and i'm 40 now. grow up, Perry Farrell. all your problems are problems you made for yourself. don't ruin everyone else's fun just because you can't get a damn grip on reality.
*That's methed up!*
😂😂 you're witty!! Good one!!
