Where has the church gone wrong in how we treat the LGBTQ community?

    • @thevaldezfamily4605

Don't be afriad to kindly say that "homosexuality" is a sin, brother. Hope you're having a great day! Btw, Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13 says that the PRACTICE of homosexuality is a sin. God never meant for a man and a another man or a woman and another woman to be in a Godly marriage. But we do not hate anyone that is gay or lesbian. We pray for them, and we pray that God would open their eyes

A Sin is a Sin ….. you don’t gotta water it down…. Hating sin don’t make you a hater…. But telling a homosexual person they going to make it to heaven when the Bible clearly states otherwise … you just wanted to be accepted by them ….. your more concerned about the world than letting them know the truth … which is the word of god….

Sadly, we treat homosexuality as some special kind of sin whereas sin is sin. Why don't we keep the same energy when addressing lying, envy etc?. Anyways, we should speak the gospel with love into that space. Knowledge puffs up, but knowledge combined with love edifies. God loves all of us, and has provided a way out for all of us in our different struggles. That way is Jesus and his grace which we need to submit to for transformation. No one can truly change themselves apart from the grace of God. That's the message.

I think we have gone wrong in the sense of not accurately representing God's heart towards the LGBTQ community. God really does love them, but enough to not leave them there. They (LGBTQ) have gone wrong in allowing themselves to be offended by the gospel instead of opening up to the truth that can make them free.

So good, that's my experience as well.
I identified as trans male 34 years, until I met Jesus through a church who loved God so much that they became Christ like so I could rightly see Jesus through them.

I love the type of biblical manhood that Nick has. We don’t see the hypermasculine image but in the way he covers his wife and leads her back to God is amazing and it’s what we need more of. Recognizing biblical manhood doesn’t always look the same. He’s clearly an amazing spiritual covering for his family, God bless them🙌🏽

This is so inspiring. I am also a gay girl starting my walk with God again after a long time of backslide. I had questioned a lot of things like "Will God even want to have a fellowship with me?" But there will be always this small voice at the back of my head saying "I'll go to God unclean and he will make me clean". The fact that Lex spoke about God, even though he doesn't change everythng about her, he still removes this and that from her slowly (The sanctification process) and that God still loves her wherever she is in life and still listens to her is such an inspiration and it had motivated me to go forward with my walk with God. And Nick talking about the societal views of what a man or a woman should be is something that I used to ponder on. I also believe that some traits of ours will never change because its God's given but the obedience and submission is more important than all of that. Its so true and relatable that religious community has always rejected and shoo off people because their views is different. This talk has such a deep impact on me already and it just shows that God can do anything and God listens to everyone, even the ones who thinks that they're the worst sinners. Its a blessing to have to listen to their story and may the good Lord bless them so so so much..

God will help you on your journey. He is a patient father. We all are sinners just some of our sins look different yet the father is merciful. It’s a daily challenge for us to die to ourselves and be more Christ like. It’s by walking hand in hand with God daily we walk into it because we know going backwards has nothing good or truly filling for us. God’s love is sufficient and unlike anything the world has to offer!

I love you all so much!! God blessings upon this sweet young couple who is sharing their life experiences with God and this world. ❤❤❤😊😊 I truly appreciate what you're doing. I'm heterosexual and I'm not excepted by anyone because when I was young, I has so much problems with my peers all having sex before me and I was brought up by grandparents who were preachers and also doing witch craft too!!! I had sisters and a brother and step cousins whom were ALL HAVING SEX AT A YOUNG AGE BUT NOT ME AND EVERY ONE HATED ME FOR NOT BEING LIKE THEM. I'M 67 YEARS OLD AND ALONE BECAUSE I CAN'T FOLLOW BEHIND PEOPLE. I ONLY WANT TO FOLLOW AFTER JESUS CHRIST, GOD AND HIS HOLY SPIRIT. ❤❤ God blessings infinitely upon each of you because God is real, he is good and he is righteousness, pure, without sin. That's what I strive for as well because I am un the world but not of the world. Amen.❤❤❤❤😊

I’m so happy to read your story & see that you are not only open to gods will in your life but for it to not be what you expected. God loves the sinner but hates sin. The book of John defines sin as not believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Anything else is a symptom of sin. If you know you have your foundation firm in the Lord nothing will shake you. Even in the mist of the most confusing times. We may change, our thoughts, our emotions, but God & his word never change. As long as we keep our sight on him; everything else will be fine ❤

This whole episode I’ve been fighting tears because I’m in public. I’m a girl but I’ve struggled to feel wholly feminine for a very long time. I always felt like I was less girly than other girls and it broke my heart so much because I just wanted to feel like a girl. When I met the Lord I developed a passion for godly and wholesome femininity. When I started dating my current boyfriend that’s when I began to know what it meant to be covered by a man. A man who loves, cherishes, and fiercely wants to protect you. I feel my most feminine with him, and it’s something I’m always so blessed by. So hearing the wife’s testimony resonated with me so deeply. I’m so glad God blessed this couple to find truth

I am still struggling with identifying as a female cause it has the word male in it which is very masculine to me so I am now labeled as non-binary and have my sex as X on my identification. I know that in my walk with Jesus though that he has helped me find myself as a lady. I always wanted to be a black boy growing up as I am now considered white or Caucasian even though I have not been able to embrace that identity. I was also groomed and turned bi-sexual for awhile. Praise Jesus though I believe I am currently back on that narrow path and am in the straight and narrow and love that I don't have the ability to judge others walk with God. When I had gender identity struggles God have my mom the words to encourage me to define the type of woman I wanted to become and that I didn’t have to subscribe to the “ultra feminine” version of womanhood I thought I had to be. I had trouble with even the feminine name I have because it sounded so girly, but she encouraged me to define what that name means for me. She doesn’t even remember telling me that, but it became my life’s mantra whenever I felt wrong in my body, and I thank God so much for that word when I needed it! My name, Elizabeth, means “consecrated to God” and now I wholly identify with that and try to walk it out everyday.

Struggling with my sexuality too. But in the lust and porn section. "Trust Him even when you don't agree" Soo deep. When you're on the verge of sexual sin, it feels like nothing else can quench the thirst/hunger you feel at the moment. But trust God, even when you don't agree... ❤

I've been following Lex and Nic on IG for a while, and I love their little family so much. Yes, their story is weird, but I believe they are the real deal! May God continue to bless their ministry. This is my first time watching Lecrae, and I praise God for him too!

I’ve never struggled with any of these issues but I’ve learned so much listening to this amazing interview/testimony on a personal level and as a Christian woman. How sad it is that you face more hate and opposition from “Christians” than those who are lost. Thank you for your boldness and humility in sharing your amazing story - I love being reminded of the only limits God has are our unwillingness to obey (and even then He will still make a way but oh how He wants to use every single one of his precious children) much love and prayers for both of you and your children

What a beautiful story. I’m saddened that the Christian community still ‘hates’ on them. What’s there to resist at this point because this is a clear redemption story. It’s either we (Christian community) want people to come to Jesus or we don’t. We can’t police how that happens and want it packages a certain way. The ‘misfits’ are God’s creation too and they need to be reconciled to Him. Thanks to this beautiful couple for sharing their story.

Great segment. Continue to have conversations the church is unwilling to have. Let's all remember that speaking the Gospel without love sounds like "a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal." 1 Cor 13.

THANK YOU, Lecrae. BLESS YOU for doing these interviews. I had become so jaded in my faith the past 5-10 yrs and truly questioned and doubted if Jesus is God but testimonies like these among other things have been what has slowly brought me back. Thank you for this.

I love that they found a WELCOMING church! It’s like either churches are totally condemning or totally affirming. I think open and welcoming is the right way to be. People should be able to come as they are and let God work in them at the pace He sees fit. Doesn’t mean compromise truth but Jesus was full of GRACE and truth 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Also the fact that her family didn’t agree with her decision but helped pay to get a better doctor try and preserve her life. Even though that didn’t protect her, the fact that they tried to is love

Omg ANOTHER BAR. God called her Austin when she identified as Austin. If even God respects people’s boundaries and doesn’t force himself, how much more should we as people respect people’s pronouns even if we don’t agree. We have no authority over them and God who so God still approaches gently. So many gems here!!!

34:00 I like the part where Lex peeled back the layer of the revelation of why she felt she needed to identify as a man. This helped me tremendously. I feel that all of our ego identities/sin identities come from some sort of deep lie, deception, or distortion particularly for those of us who experienced childhood trauma also. Like Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13. "When that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part shall be done away with" it's like the broken part of her created an identity to protect the vunerable/fragile part of her. That's what happened to me too until I knew for sure that the love of God is so pure and abundant that I needn't not do something to protect myself and the word says GOD IS A REFUGE for us

Think you might be kind of putting him on a pedestal don’t you think? How many others with longer rap sheets who may not have the title as Lecrae have done far greater and more extensive contributions but just bc you don’t hear about it doesn’t mean there’s not plenty of it out there.

What Nick said about watching God unravel the vision when it's what you hoped for but not exactly how you saw it and it being even better that what we imagine. 👏 And Alex saying it's about our Yes. Even when we doubt or dont Fully understand. God will show up for us better that we can imagine. ❤
