  • Steve Vai is able to make the electric guitar do amazing things. His track Tender Surrender is a magical journey through pain, pleasure, and passion. In this video we're going to watch a live performance of Tender Surrender recorded on the 2024 G3 tour in Salem Oregon. Back in the day, I was so inspired by Steve’s playing that I bought his signature Ibanez universe guitar. The year was 1999 and I was 16 years old. I’ve played more notes on this sonic weapon than any other instrument I’ve owned muhahaha

Steve is also an incredibly cool, humble, funny cat. Spent a couple hours with him in a fairly small clinic (maybe 30-40 people). Everybody that wanted to play with him got a chance to get up and jam a bit. He was so encouraging to all of us. Beyond a "guitarist" or "musician", he's truly an artist. Hang with him for a bit and you quickly pick up that he's a pretty sensitive guy... I bet he happy cries at the end of corny movies.

Dude I’ve always said it… Tender Surrender is THE greatest piece of guitar music ever written. Period. I saw him about a year and a half ago. Was on the rail in front of him and I told my wife, if he plays Tender Surrender, I WILL cry. He did, I did, my wife did lol. We met him behind the venue afterwards and we had a good chat. He remembered my wife and I from the show and then I had another good cry while we chatted. He’s such a genuine human being. Great video man. Peace

he's a master of the instrument like Satriani, every sound is mastered and thought, technique is just a tool for them

You should see how he handles his hard wood in Frank Zappa and Steve Vai video. It was a tour in Italy and this video is what took me on this journey of Vai’s and Frank

I paid for the VIP Evo Experience on his last tour. It was worth every penny. His honesty is obvious…a truly spectacular human being. Oh, along with being, arguably, the best guitarist of my lifetime.

I saw him live last year in my town and i have never been big fan. But it was sooo fukin good. True artist, true guitar giant. To be honest i still dont listen to him much because his music is so special, but i will never miss the chance to experience him if hes around in the country. I recomend his show to everyone, its not only for guitar nerds.

The music, not Steve's playing, has a Gary Moore kind of feel to it. Awesome.

imo steve should drop another vocal album. His talent has been showcased already and hes probably repeating a lot of skills. The one album he had with that devin guy was unique and different and they had some catchy songs. he needs to team up with another vocalist and produce another album of real songs instead of more instrumentals.

I'm probably alone here but I don't think anything in vais discography sounds good. Obviously he's a masterful player i just he's a bad song writer

Yes ,barring a few classics like for the love of God, it's mostly like buckethead, loads and loads of talent ,but not songwriting still
