This is a possibly the longest time interval I've had between wanting to film a tutorial and actually doing it. I adored the sandseal plushies from Breath of the Wild but they were a bit obscure and never played a role in the game. Things are different in Tears of the Kingdom so I'm glad I can finally make these. These are actually deceptively easy because they only use the single back-stitch technique. Unlike other plushies you don't have to switch a lot between sewing methods however I do recommend watching the sewing methods video.

Little thing I noticed when I did this craft today:
I found it a lot easier to work with regular socks rather than the fluffy ones. The fluffy socks kept crumbling, they were hard to cut and sew through due to the knot popping right outside the side abd you can't see the thread no matter what colour I used. If you're wanting it to be a bit more simple use normal socks rather than the fluffy ones

Those are adorable!! I thought at first “Oh I’ll make some when my socks get holes ”, but then since it’s the toe and heel of the sock thats used for the body, that’s not gonna fly xD.
I do want to try making one though so, I’ll keep that project in my back pocket.

My husband got mildly annoyed when we were talking about this side quest. Saying it took him so long to do, was tricky to get them all in time. I told him I used recall on them all and his face fell! 😂
I didnt know you could fuse them, though, so thank you for that...gonna fuse to a shield so I have a seal backpack 😊

I just started making some using normal fabric but the socks make it so much cuter!! I'm ordering socks as we speak. I'm a beginner and have had issues hiding knots. I noticed when doing the fins, you just put the end of the thread through the body. Was there a knot there that i missed? how does it stay in the body without slipping out? Thanks :)
Yes definitely put a knot!! Threading it thru the body is more just for aesthetic purposes :) threading it thru the body is so that you can cut the thread in a less obvious place mostly
