Doing my part for the Among Us hype! Crewmates are perfectly suited for sock plushies and you can make them for less than $1. The shape uses many natural sides of the sock so there is relatively little sewing involved, and no pattern cutting at all. Please keep this tutorial for personal use since the Among Us developers (Innersloth) have asked fans not to sell unlicensed merchandise. If you've never tried sock plushies before then this is a great one to start with! Don't worry if your first one doesn't turn out perfect, plushie sewing usually takes 1-2 attempts but you will get the hang of it very quickly. I used fluffy socks in this video but any type will work! You can also mix textures such as making a fluffy body with a smooth sock faceplate.

This is an awesome and simple tutorial! I thought it was gonna be extremely difficult, since I had no experience sewing AT ALL, but I actually managed to do it! Instead of using fluffy socks, I just used plain normal socks. You can use it, since I made it. However, it is less stretchy. To conclude, this is an amazing video! I subscribed!

Yes! This is very important. I’ve been seeing so many people make their own Among Us merch with intentions to sell and it’s upsetting considering that the developers at InnerSloth clearly said not to and they’re an indie company.

Innersloth has 3 people in the team and only 1 actually does coding! So they DEFINITELY need all the revenue they can so they can eventually expand and make Among Us the best it can be. Also considering how people are actually PIRATING the pc version that only costs FIVE DOLLARS.. they REALLY need a much revenue they can.
I don't get it. You can play Among Us for free on Android, plus $2 for ad free if you really care. You can easily make that amount in Google Opinion Rewards over a few months so it doesn't really cost anything to play out of pocket...
@@duskcat i know! I use the mobile version with ads cause I'm strapped for cash currently. The ads aren't even bothersome and only pop up at the end of a match. Plus if you play with someone who is ad less hosting the lobby everyone gets to be ad free in that lobby. It's hardly a bother. People are just selfish. 😞

@@idkmanwoah Innersloth already has a merch shop and is a small team of independent creators. By people selling their own merch, they are taking away sales and the ability for the team to be able to work on Among Us and other projects. People have to realize not every game is funded by a billion dollar industry, not every company has the luxury of being able to lose a few dollars to fan merch, as well intentioned as it may be.
@@idkmanwoah Innersloth is a team of 3 people. They've been suddenly thrust into the public eye in popularity with millions of people playing their game. They now have to work under the weight of all that with struggling servers and the demands of players for new features etc etc. That's a lot of stress for 2 guys and 1 girl. They'll surely need to expand their team eventually to help with the extra load which means they'll need money to afford paying those future employees. They'll need money for their server up keep. They'll need money for living wages for themselves. They'll need money to create merchandise.
The game is free on mobile but costs only $5 on pc... ridiculously cheap yet they're are people out there PIRATING the game so that's lost revenue.
They DO have merchandise on their site including PLUSHIES but they are sold out because the game is so popular. They need money to make more merchandise cause that shit isn't made for free but if someone bought an unofficial plushie from RandomArtist69 why would they buy another from the official store? Especially if the knock-off is cheaper? That's lost revenue.
And considering how 5543467i544 artists are out there easily able to whip up and sell shit and flood the market before Innersloth can get a new batch of merch ready they would be losing out on a ton of revenue.
It's also just being respectful of a small team's effort to not sell unofficial merch and steal from their ability to create and continue THEIR ORIGINAL PROPERTY.
Cause just put yourself in their shoes. You created something unique and interesting and it suddenly booms in popularity. Now not only are your responsibilities greater but you have people out there taking your blood, sweat and tears and using it for their own profit. That's gross.
I'd even say videos like this showing people how to make their own dolls isn't great because it's indirectly encouraging folks to make their own and not buy official but at least Joanna publicly stated Innersloth's desire for people not to sell unofficial shit! A major bonus.
I'm an artist and for sure I'd love to get some extra cash off the popularity this game has but it's just.. morally wrong to do so in this case. This is an Indie team so it would be like stealing from a fellow artist not a "lol eat the rich!" stance against some faceless corporation like Disney or EA.
I think the only way I could accept any unofficial merch was if you had your own way of drawing the characters in the game like those who draw realistic humanoid versions or people who give them human faces so they're not just candy colored jelly beans. Then the characters are less direct rips and are more distinct to the artist's style.

@hell no oh I definitely agree there's nothing wrong with making your own or gifting ones you've made since there's no money involved. It's just in this case it kinda feels bad like if folks made their own would they still buy official ones? Could that have resulted in potential lost revenue? I think it's just my anxiety disorder and tendency to over think kicking in at that point. 😂

I tried to make it at home and it was actually really easy and fun! Because I only had pink fluffy socks I used a fur like fabric instead of the white sock. The stitches were really well explained and i had loads of fun! Even though my crewmate didn't turned out perfect I love it!!!!

Honestly the "$1" statement is not really true. Maybe you'll find one pair of socks for $1 but then you'll need another pair for the face plate/helmet and you need to buy the filling material as well😂.
How much filling material in weight did you have to use for one plushie?
@@Romy--- She said $1 worth of materials per PLUSH, not for the total amount of material you buy. For example a bag of stuffing at Walmart is $3.47 for a 16oz bag. If you only use 2oz of stuffing for the plush (idk how much it actually uses this is just an example) then it only takes 43 cents worth of stuffing to make the plush.

if you learn how to sew, you'll see how easy it is. i'm not good at sewing, and i havent sewed in a while, but this is an amazing explaination of a backstitch and if and when you learn basics to sewing, you'll be able to do this 😊

I only learned the back stitch and this was easy
I have done it, As a young child ( im saying child coz i dont want u lot knowing how old i am ) I found it quite simple the backstiching was quite difficult But since me a noob at sewing i htink u can too!

Actually, I know I will sound low key nerdy and what not, but what she made I am almost positive is a cat. Later they made bat wings. Also I played in a public game with the host being named kitty, we had to wear that very hat she made. I think the whole world thinks it is a cat. 😂
